  As the title says I have a Qosmio X 505 - Q892.

  The confusion is I can log on Mozilla Firefox/IE and even play MMO RPG very well as well as newspapers in Ventrilo and Skype but when I go to use any other program such as Windows Live Messenger, or to download and install of new programs/updates such as the NET. Framework v4.0 or even an older version of Windows Live Messenger or attempt to use hyperlinks in an installed version of Microsoft Excel 2010, I get an error message saying that I am not connected to the Internet when I'm clearly.

Everything else works fine, otherwise I wouldn't be able to type on this issue. Now, I honestly don't know where to start to look for any information or if it just a coincidence that 3 or 4 different programs keep telling me I'm not connected to the internet when I am clearly, then by the process of elimination or whatever it is you want to call it, I decided it would be my best bet on a place to find some kind of help on this.

  In the case where there is no other curiosities that I know he has no impact on what will be and won't be not and technical troubleshooting changes, so I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit SP1, the connection that I use is strong enough to bear 5 laptops, an Xbox 360 and PS3 at the same time, but also don't ever have connection problems unless there is a storm.

  To be honest it's a very strange problem, and especially on this virtual path (forum) it's not easy to say what to do in this case. I put t understand why you can access the Internet with programs such as Firefox and other programs not

  Only thing I could imagine, is that your firewall is blocking certain programs. This would explain why some programs work and other programs not. So please check your firewall / security software configuration so all programs have access to Internet.

  Otherwise, it would be interesting to know whether or not you use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba and since when did you notice the problem.

  I can access the internet without any problem in all browsers, but can program.

  For example, when you try to install Windows Live Essentials, I got an error saying I need to be connected to the Internet (but I already was!) - error: OnCatalogResult: 0x8104000b.

  And another example, I can't use Windows Live Messenger, apparently for the same reason, no internet...

  Some additional info:

  • I tried with an Ethernet connection and a wireless network
  • I also disabled the firewall Windows, but which didn't help either...

  Oh, by the way... I use Windows Vista .

  I forgot to say that my problem has been resolved.

  It was lack of Norton. After the execution of the removal of Norton tool by PC is back online with no problems.

  Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:

  OK - In Illustrator get to HELP.   Sign in with your username there.  Restart Illustrator.   That's the question is!  Hope this helps

  I can access my documents, Panel etc. and everything is there, but it won't let me not get access to the programs.

  Given that I was able to access control panel, I was able to create a new user and use it for now to send this message and all programs have worked on it and I was able to check for the presence of viruses on the Avg on this and everything was clear.

  I am currently on a project in which I develop a tool to run on a Windows XP system and using a PC/104 stack for data acquisition.  Most of the cards in the stack access is done through drivers supplied by the card manufacturers.  However, some features of seem to not be included in one of the drivers and am now having to manipulate the records to properly configure things.  To do this, I'm linking to a dll that I wrote and compiled in Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express in which I ask to have access to this memory segment.  At the moment, all I'm doing is reading this segment, but currently Labview throws error 1097.  The dll code is:

  }

  (BYTE is an unsigned char, and the WORD is an unsigned integer).  That seems fairly straightforward - all I want is the content of the 8 - bits associated with the base address + 10 specified by the user - I currently don't try to manipulate the data here.  This function compiles and runs without error in the console environments, so it turns out that there is a kind of confrontation between the LV and the dll.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Hi Matt,

  Windows uses memory protection, which means that it configures your PC MMU (memory management unit) to map between virtual addresses in user mode and the physical address. Casting an integer to a pointer, you cannot access the corresponding physical address. You need a kernel for this device driver. Most pilots provide a user with an abstraction for access mode to the device without dealing with records and the physical address, but there are a few drivers that allows access to the registers of the device of the user, such as NI-VISAmode.

  The fact that your console program runs without error does not mean that it actually accesses the device registers. More likely, the console program has something mapped to the virtual address, and LabVIEW does not work. Microsoft has a tool called VMMapthat you can use to display the virtual address space a process.

  Unlike Windows XP & Vista, Windows 7 does not include a default email Client. [What were thinking?]

  You will need to install a (e.g. MS Outlook;) Windows Live Mail; Thunderbird) , and then set it as a default for mail in CUSTOM (<>) article in Set Program Access and defaults of the computer , then restart your computer before any function send to or MailTo will become available.

  So I'm at the end of my rope with this one... it lasts for months, and I keep revisitng every two weeks to try and fix that and every time to be completely frustrated.  I found this forum tonight, so here goes...

  We downloaded a few games on the HP Games Web site.  We download them and everything works fine.  Then, we will open the games and this pop up error message:
  "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

  These games used to run fine, and I have no idea why they now have problems.  We have a Vista operating system, 1 account who is the administrator, the Parental control is disabled (or if we believe).

  If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated!  We have a monthly membership to this site of game and continue to accumulate credits, but may not use it.  It makes us crazy!

  Hello Heathie,

  Thank you for posting.  It seems that the program is no longer on your computer.  This can happen if the game files are deleted, but the game itself has not been uninstalled correctly.  I recommend you to download the game again to a location on your computer where you can easily find and install it.  This should fix the problem.
