PDF compatibility options

Anyone know how to adjust the settings used when creating an .ai file PDF compatible? Is it still possible?

I think that the resolutions can be resolved to reduce the size of the file. Compatible PDF file we need information, but a decent resolution is not one of them.

Thanks for saving me the "masses" to save time.

It the same thing!

See Help file:

p.268

Create a PDF Compatible

Saves a PDF of the document representation in the Illustrator file.

Really, this means that your file will be recorded with this is the PDF version.

p 283:

Applications and utilities that create PDFs use the last set of parameters defined or selected PDF.

Nothing is really, what method you choose to PDF, all uses the same parameters of the last .joboptions file defined or selected

Yet a bloody newby to Illustrator...

I often need to save a document to HAVE PDF to send to someone.  There is always this Panel seeking Options and compatibility level.

The default value of compatibility is always "Acrobat 6 (PDF 1.5)".  I have no need of backward compatibility, so I always have change to "Acrobat 8 (PDF 1.7).

Question: is there a way to make the PDF 1.7 by default in Illustrator?  I have checked all the preferences, but impossible to find such an option.

As always - thank you in advance for your kind advice!

try saving a PDF preset file, it seems to remember the next time you save (on windows).

  • Preview full size in bridge - without PDF compatibility

Why can't get an overview of the size of an Illustrator file in Bridge without using the PDF compatibility!

I don't want a file that should be 1.8 MB - using the related images - finish under a bloated 70 MB file that takes forever to open and save!

The whole point of associated images is to keep the file size small and the eye-catching application.

I do not understand why is it always like that...

Your point being?  I want to be able to display a NATIVE Illustrator file WITHOUT PDF compatibility indigestion.

The point of all of the linked files is to keep the size down.  1.8 MB instead of 70 MB - there is a HUGE difference.

Even if there was an option for decent thumbnail so you can actually see detail!

  • What pdf compatibility is the best?

    Hey guys

I'm new to Acrobat and fell on the pdf maker, parameters and distill to create new PDF files. Here you can choose different compatibilities (pdf 1.5 / 1.6 etc.) and other parameters.

What is better to use? It is recommended to always use the latest version? What other parameters such as compression of images and so on?

    Thanks for your help.

I use Acrobat Pro DC on 10 to win.

You can navigate to the following link for the PDF compatibility levels:

  • Not reflected in PDF form options

    Hello.

I have created a PDF form in InDesign (9.2.1) and used the palette buttons and forms to set options such as Multiline and Scrollable, but these are not exported in the PDF file.

I am using the interactive PDF export option, and I tried to stop/restart InDesign and Acrobat Pro, but not lucky: when the PDF file is exported, the options are not "attached" to the PDF fields and I have to manually apply again in Acrobat Pro. My form is 12 pages long, and after re - set these options in Acrobat is going to be a lot of time and a duplication of efforts.

Has anyone else had this issue or know a fix?

    Hi KevinAtkins

I check the file, and I think that the problem with the numbers at the beginning of the name of the field to text (6.1, 6.2) I deleted numbers and turn on multiline and button works.

  • Missing under Advanced menu PDF Optimization option

    Hello

I use Acrobat 9.4.  I am aware that the PDF Optimizer option is under advanced at the top menu.  However, this option seems to have disappeared.  By the Adobe Help file, I'm looking in the right place, but the option has disappeared.

Is there a way to recover this option?  I searched Google and found someone with the same problem on another forum but no answers have been posted.

If you run Std, then I don't think that option is available. You must specify the version of Acrobat you are using, not only was the level number. That is, Std, Pro, or Pro Extended.

  • V31 save as pdf tools option disappeared

been to ff 31 android and I saw that tools from the menu 'Save as pdf' had disappeared. manually downgraded in vn 30 and option was there. I presume so disappearance was related to the upgrade of version - but I see no mention of this specific issue in firefox /Articles or elsewhere

Hello, the option is now in the menu of the page...

  • No XP (service pack 3) or run as Administrator program compatibility options.

Another issue is before you install a program that I downloaded, I right click it and go to properties > compatibility and under run this program in compatibility mode for: there is no option for Windows XP service pack 3 or run as Administrator option. It lists only older versions of Windows and Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5). I doubled checked that my OS is XP (service pack 3) and my account has administrator privileges, so it's really confusing me! Any clarification would be much appreciated!

    -Eva :)

Have you tried just downloading, just empty without trying to run it in compatibility mode? I don't think you'll find an xp in the drop-down list entry simply because you run a xp machine and there is no place to enter xp when you try to run a compatible software xp on a xp machine.

  • PDF 3D options?

Are there plans to include the export options with format PDF 3D, such as lamps, background etc? I know that this can be done manually with acrobat, but it would be good to set a default view, the preview image & color of this background dialog box.

  • Can I change the save by default than the PDF compatibility?

The default value for save as pdf is Acrobat 6. Problem started just about my plans of work not made does not correctly in the PDF file. Preview of the document is also very strange. Registered PDF open correctly in artificial intelligence, but not in anything else including Acrobat and Apple Preview. Change the compatibility to 8 solves the problem.

I get that I can make a custom preset, action or script, but I would really just stay simple as possible.

Well, if you simply remove the tree off the road probably will lead you into another tree later.

You could make your custom desktop configuration, rename it to default Illustrator, and replaces the one that is named [default Illustrator]. Then, it would be always ready. Is that what you want to do? If Yes, tell me if you are on a mac or a pc, so we can point to the place where it should be.

The brackets mean that the setting is kept in a place where you have to admin / owner of the password of the computer. But the thing is that this default Illustrator isn't quite a parameter you want to use when you send to a printer. So if you really want to go in this direction, you have to know what the risks are and how to avoid them.

  • Optimize scanned PDF document Options

    Hello

I'm scanning big A1 documents PDFs of color and I need to reduce the size of the file and also clean the image by removing the background noise in the image but keeping the details. I used the function to optimize the older version of Acrobat pdf I had which was 7. Now, I'm upgraded to 10 these options are no longer works for me. I don't get a reduced size and I no longer get a nice white background during optimization. It seems that some essential options are missing from the settings in Acrobat 7. Background removal is set to high, but it does not work. For now I'm stuck with the help of the file size reduction except option which is not enough to reduce it or remove background noise. Can anyone help?

    Steve

It turns out that it was just a problem to scan. After I recalibrated my scanner optimization problems have now been resolved.

  • can no longer export to PDF - why option disappeared?

so strange!  I have a very simple file, a tiff image, I want to export to PDF.  for years, all I've done is go to file, then export, then an option to go to the pdf format is displayed.  Suddenly, the PS think the file is a video or something, and there is no option of pdf.  can umake smell that?
