• Several copies of the calendar (more than 20) running simultaneously in Windows sidebar

  Windows Sidebar running several copies of the calendar 1.1.0.0. When I try to remove the gadgets, the screen freezes. Unknown, how the spouse got this many copy works like that on his laptop; and I am at a loss on how to reduce/elimate this gadget and the downturn, that it is creating.

  I have manually run all scans of Windows Defender and AVG antiviral, no problem. I noticed that his Defender has been configured to carry out daily checks, the last before today, it was 28/02/10. Unknown why/how that could have been stopped. After removing box in the start menu, the computer seems to work "normally". However, once the side bar is enabled, delays begin.

  Another post 'Can you help me with my sidebar problem' had some tips to try. I did all the registry commands, and they are all successful. I then tried to rename the Settings folder in the sidebar to ".old"; and said I couldn't do that, that the case was "ongoing execution in another program"

  Sidebar not working, at least as far as I could tell. Nothing in the status bar, and I'd already removed since starting foder.

  Don't know if this will help. I'm stumped on this one from relyy.

  Anyone else having problems with the address bar. No work to present frequently visited sites and and after visiting the sites manually or via Favorites addresses are crushed between them (showing several addresses at the same time).

• Several copies of the Adobe Reader software are open by Windows Explorer without any request

  I have a PC using Windows XPproSP3 as its operating system.  Adobe Reader v10.1.3 is installed on my machine. When to use Windows Explorer to view a directory containing several *. PDF files and I ask then my mouse over a file and a simple left click to select this file, Windows Task Manager shows me that the system immediately starts opening copies of AcroRd32.exe (in pairs) and continues to do so until the PC is out of memory.  The PDF in question is not actually opened.

• LaserJet P1005: LaserJet P1005 unintentionally print several copies after the decommissioning of 10 of Windows to Windows 7

  My LaserJet P1005 trustworthy priinter was perfectly printing for a few years on my HP TouchSmart 300 running Windows 7 and connected via USB1.  I have upgraded to Windows 10 for two weeks before deciding that he was turning too slowly.  Subsequently, I have downgraded to Windows 7.

  Since the downgrade, the printer has been printing several copies of all documents (eg.  Word, Excel, Web pages).  He prints a copy, waiting (the State indicates a copy pending) and continues to print 3 or 4 future COPs..

  So far, I have tried the following:

  1 deleted and reinstalled the printer P1005 driver.

  2. guarantee that no multiple copies are selected in the options of the software and a printer.

  3. you click Printer Sharing tab in the printer properties.

  I know that's not a printer for the State of the art, but any suggestions on my printer P1005 back to normal would be greatly appreciated.

  Try to clear the record of spool and restart the spooler to print, see if this will help, clear how current Print queue in Windows Vista & Windows 7.

  Please try the steps listed in this document, if the problem persists, HP printers - Print Jobs stuck in the print queue (Windows). They should help this situation. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor?

  I used this document to the network printers, you can try it to see if it will help with the USB connection, HP LaserJet Pro P1102w and printers P1606dn - printer continuously prints the same Print Job after it is installed on a network.

  Here's what you can try:

  Step 1:

  (a) start Windows Media Player.

  (b) press F3 on your keyboard to open the add to the library of the find computers dialog box.

  (c) click the Browse button to locate the file on your computer so that your library contains invalid entries. Specify the location of the folder in the box look in.

  If you are not sure what duplicate in your library entry is not valid, you can add a path column to display your library by following the instructions in the last question. Specify the folder on your computer that matches the path invalid file displayed in your library.

  (d) click on the search button.

  If only a small number of duplicate entries exist, you can delete those invalid manually by double-clicking the invalid entry and then clicking on delete.

  If you have a large number of entries in doubles in your library (or if your library is duplicated), it might be better to create a new library

  Step 2:

  Here's how you can create the media library:

  (a) close Windows Media Player.

  (b) locate the database on the computer that contains the entries of your library. In general, the library database file (CurrentDatabase_219.wmdb) is located in the following directory:

  directories SystemDrive\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

  (c) right click on the file and then click Rename.

  (d) rename the file by changing its file .bak extension.

  (e) start the player. When you do so, a new database of library file is created.

  (f) press F3 on your keyboard to open the add to the library of the find computers dialog box.

  (g) click the Browse button to search for a folder on your computer that contains digital media files. Specify the location of the folder in the box look in.

  (h) click on the search button.

  The player will search for digital media files and playlists in the folder you specify and add to your library. If you have your files and playlists stored in different folders on your computer, you may need to search for files several times, by specifying a different folder every time.

  Step 3:

  Avoid the music automatically added to avoid duplicate music files. To prevent music files to be automatically added to your library:

  (a) in the Player Windows Media, on the Tools menu, click Options.

  (b) on the Player tab, clear the files of music to add to the library when played check box.

  Now, when you play music on your computer or the Internet, the file will not be added automatically to your library.

  Disconnect the printer from the PC, uninstall the software from the Control Panel, remove all copies of the printer, then plug it back back and install only ONE.

• No sound from AOL 9.5 and Quicken ONLY on Windows 7. Shows no more in the mixer

  AOL 9.5 and Quicken system sounds do NOT work.

  Ideas:

  • AOL 9.5 and Quicken 2010 sounds do NOT work on Windows 7.
  • No error message.
  • Restore the system restore point - worked fine before, now after re-installing AOL and Quicken NO SOUND... but sound of ELSE EVERYTHING WORKS very WELL.
  • All the sounds of AOL under settings, multimedia redefined and all sounds under preferences in QUICKEN. Reinstalled the two programs three times. No program appears under the mixer (should they? because they is not if they should show). Have done all the restoration of sounds under settings AOL 9.5.
  Can't seem to find anything wrong - no problem of sound card with drivers etc, should see the AOL under the soundmixer is not there (or QUicken) and if so - how to show... maybe that's the problem.
  * Also if I go into Control Panel, put to update the default he is a US_AOL (my email) and US_AOL (default)... plus all the regular sounds... AOL sounds have a "yellow" folder if it means something and all the others are white - ALSO when I hit the ' test' button in this area on AOL files... NOTHING... If I hit the test on any of the windows files... works very well. For the next, I hit 'Browse' and set up files... click on them nothing?

  My ipod has several copies of both albums, but I only have everyone on my list of itune. Synced the ipod, but it remains the sam (several copies of both albums)

  For general advice, see grouping of tracks in albums . Older IPod such as classic to do not apply artist album so an album that looks OK in iTunes can break upward on the device. I recommend using a consistent value for the artist and the artist comments/featured information moving in the track names.

  I have completed, to the best of my knowledge, the updates that VISTA offers. And yet impossible to download Windows Live Essentials Beta.  It's problems for my computer by other means and it slows down.

  I did a great job keeping my computer clean of viruses and parasites. I did my due diligence on scans, defrags and keep clear of all dangerous downloads.

  It's time to transition my VISTA to Windows 7? More importantly,is it safe to do? I don't have $1,000 to invest in another computer?  Can I make the transition to Windows 7 without putting my computer at risk? Where should I start?

• Windows Live Essentials, just how to change the colors of windows live calendar? The pastel shades are much too pale!

  The colors of the Windows Live Calendar are really terrible for anyone with a problem that requires more contrast. Surely, there must be a way to increase the contrast on the page using darker more vivid colors. Or all the nerds to Ms not to know that there are a lot of people who really need the contrast gap? I saw that on the last version of Live Mail, it is supposed to be a brush-shaped button, which when pressed would the colors change. Mine has not, however, that or I can't seem to download an update from Ms.

  Hi all

  I use the script below on an option button to hide and display a field on a form. I also want to use the same button to control another field named 'instructions for lbl_dynamic' The Acrobat forms book I use as a guide does not address the hiding and showing of several fields at the same time. My attempts to add the second field have failed. How can I change the script to control two fields instead of one?
