PDF file shows different numbers of blocks of text in 2014 of CC and CS6

Hello

I inherited a file at work that shows a different number of blocks of text, depending on the version of Acrobat to view the file. Here's the question:

As seen in CC 2014:

"Chapter 1 - a chapter title": appears as two text blocks - one for "Chapter 1-" and a "Chapter title" "»

As seen in CS 6:

"Chapter 1 - a chapter title": appears as a single block of text-"Chapter 1 - a chapter title.

This only happens in regards to a single chapter numbers figure which are integers. So:

Chapter 1, Chapter 5 and Chapter 7 entries appear as two CC 2014 blocks, a block to the CS6.

Chapter 2.0, Chapter 10, Chapter 6.1 entries appear in Uniblock in 2014 CC and CS6.

The PDF file was created - I think - with the backup-PDF feature in Word 2010.

No idea what is happening here?

Thank you.

  • Some PDF files show as blank pages (because of the dimensions?)

    Hello

some of my PDF files show as blank when opened in Acrobat or Adobe Reader DC pages.

They show well in Apple Preview.app or Chrome.app

Found following workaround solution to see:

    -Open the file PDF

-call file > Preferences > page display

-change the resolution (from custom to the system or vice versa)

= > See the represented contents.

Unfortunately, this work around is not a one time solution. If I close and re - open the PDF file, I need to change the resolution to the other available option to review the content of the PDF file.

This can be connected to the oversized PDF.

Is there another fix or patch for it?

    Thanks, Vicky

Sorry, there has been no help, in any case the problem was connected to the 200 x 200 inch page size limit:

    https://answers.acrobatusers.com/when-200-inch-page-limit-broken-q36927.aspx

My PDF files have been saved in a PDF prior to version 1.6 and the page size exceeded the limit of 200 inches. When Acrobat tries to open a such PDF oversized, it simply does not show it.

    Best regards. Vicky

In Excel, click on the Acrobat toolbar, and then click Preferences.

Now select the option 'Fit the worksheet to a single page' and click ok

  • A pdf file in Acrobat cloud maybe blocked password?

I was wondering if we can the password to lock a pdf file that is located in the cloud to Adobe Acrobat? Maybe it's a redundant question, because it is assumed that all the files in the cloud of Adobe are protected in that sense to know the credentials (username and password) to connect to Adobe Cloud?

    Hello

All files that you have uploaded to Adobe Document cloud are available to you (or the person who signs with the unique credentials: user name & password).  No one else has access to your files in the cloud.

In addition, you can restrict access to individual PDF documents by setting passwords using the desktop version of Acrobat Professional or Standard DC.

Securing PDF files with passwords, Adobe Acrobat

    Please note:

    • Acrobat Reader (desktop and mobile) apps don't offer the ability to create password-protected PDF documents.
    • Once the PDF documents are protected by password, you will not be able to make changes (e.g. adding annotations, fill forms) for PDF documents using Acrobat Reader mobile apps (for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone).  There is a limitation in Acrobat Reader mobile apps only.

In Windows Explorer click the icon "show preview pane" on the right side of the toolbar. Whenever a PDF file is opened in the preview pane, Windows treats as "in use" and will not allow that it be modified or deleted.

Install and use Acrobat Reader DC. You can not use previous versions more.

  • Error message "To display the contents of the Flash technology in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat".

I converted MS-Outlook 2010 e-mail folder (and emails) into a PDF portfolio. When I have Adobe Reader X R-clicked, selected, I got and error message "To display the contents of the Flash technology in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat". I get the same msg when I try to open it with Acrobat. He worked the week last in Adobe Reader. I have the latest version of Flash Player installed. The portfolio opens when I click on < more >, but the Index is missing and I can't get to the first email. PC platform. Anyone else having this problem? If so, how to fix?

You are running Internet Explorer by chance? If so, the Flash Player you have is NOT in need of Adobe Reader and Acrobat. If there is a link in the message, use that, rather than assuming that you already have Flash Player. If this does not work, let us know.

  • Editing text in PDF files - only the numbers lack police

When you change the text in a PDF file (created in InDesign), I can change all text with the exception of all numbers. When I try to enter a number, I get the message "the police XXXX is not available or cannot be used in the original edition. Acrobat uses the Arial font in its place. " He then places other characters in his place - do not know what they are, but they are not numbers. Someone has an idea what is the cause?

Sorry, I found my answer here:

    https://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1582291?q=Arabic%20numbers

Apparently, the NUMBERS HINDI under Preferences\Languages checkbox is checked default. This ridiculous default resulted in Arabic numerals when editing of the PDF in Acrobat. Editing text was fine, but every time I type a number, it would seem that the Arabic characters.

  • Attached a PDF file have different file name

So I enclose you pdf files for descriptions of product and occasionally when I click on the link of the PDF, the pdf file name will be different from what I've downloaded. The file is correct, but the automated name will have a number after it. It seems that muse is the earlier pdf with the same name in the file somewhere and adding the number. Is their anyway for me to delete the pdf file previously listed in the hyperlink section so that I don't get the number following the name of the file.

    Hello

You can delete the files in the folder of the active, active Panel also click on options, you can delete unused files for upload which would be to remove the used or unrelated files anywhere in the pages of the site.

    Thank you

  • PDF files shows no not in windows Explorer

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
    THAT IS TO SAY 8

Occasionalyy, after I download a PDF file, I can't see the file. Finished downloading the file, but does not appear. However, if I go to download another file, downloaded files appear in the window "Save as" Windows Explorer, but not in the regular Windows Explorer window. I can open the files from there the window "save under" clicking and choosing 'open file '.

It's strange because this does not happen to all files. It occurs also on ordinary IE downloads, but not as often.

Any ideas on how to make visible files?

    Thank you

    Hi Robpix,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

When you click Save to save the control file to the location where the file is recording, and then navigate to the specified location to open the file in Windows Explorer.
You can also copy and paste the path into the search box of start, press ENTER. It will open the file in Windows Explorer.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • Why my .pdf files show a gray pages when I find ones I save on my computer?

When I open my .pdf files that I scanned and saved on my computer, I can't read the document.  All I see are gray pages where the words/images should be.  When I open the .pdf files of the Internet, most of the present file, but not all.  Some images are rectangles gray.

I am running Windows 7 and Adobe files have updated to the latest version.  My scanner is a HP Deskjet 3050.

    Hello

    Thanks for the post.

Its sounds like .pdf reader does not display large images as a default value. It is on as a default but it is quite common to go out!

Try to open the .pdf preferences drive and in the section "Page view", select "view large Images" in the Page content and information section "" "

If the problem persists, you will need to download the latest updates. They are either displays a code or text that your system does not recognize because it is outdated.

    I hope this helps.
