• PDF Viewer has disappeared!

  After the 1.2 update, I noticed that the PDF Viewer has disappeared from my list of Apps integrated with the device information.  I always have PDF Viewer in the launcher and can always open files; what I can't do, is bring down the drop down at the top left!  I just hope I have posted this in the right location for someone at Palm to notice.   :-/

  You are right.  My girlfriend has yet to upgrade to version 1.2.  There is no drop down when you first launch PDF Viewer. After review of my device information, I discovered that PDF Viewer has been moved to downloaded Apps.  PDF Viewer was in before 1.2 built-in Apps.  Thanks for your reply.

  In Windows Explorer (using Windows 8.3) all PDFs of my7 before a PDF icon! Now, they show as a same Word doc if they are PDF files. Recently, I've solved a problem "the organizers database is damaged and will be reset the next time Acrobat is launched...» "Which appears whenever I closed a PDF file. I have Acrobat updated with all the latest updates. Now, all of a sudden, I realized that all of my PDF files display the Word icon.

  Also, when I get a bill from Intuit and choose whether to save in PDF format, it generates a Word doc which is unreadable! That's happened?

  Or simply right click on the PDF file & set Acrobat as the default PDF Viewer.

  Of course not. The files will remain even after the trial expires. You just

  will not be able to open more (unless you install a different PDF Viewer).

• How can I determine if a created PDF file has been encrypted in a unix or linux box

  I'm not sure if execution of the command file on my box will tell me if a given created PDF file is encrypted and with what level of encryption.  Is there a way to determine if the file is encrypted by using the Unix/Linux tools after the fact?

  It is assumed that you want to do this in UNIX command line / Shell / Terminal.  There is a way that you could do that and that is to 'rolling' and build the tool with the Adobe PDF Library SDK.  Datalogics, which is an Adobe partner has a port of UNIX for the Adobe PDF Library SDK which could be used to create a tool that does this for you, but there is a very big opposition involved in the price structure for the Adobe's PDF library.

  Windows & mcafee scans don't tell me no problems found. After that they disappeared, I had added a few more photos. I ran a defrag, now these files cannot be found or the other...

  If the photo thumbs reappear... they can look washed out...
  to clear this up... right click on a picture or a selected group
  and choose... Properties, uncheck the 'hidden ' /.

  Time Machine backup. The trial did not support back to, or automatic backup. Once the trial expires, you probably can't do anything with it anyway, and Apple has long taken by the servers support iWork to purchase a license.

  If you download a Pages ' 09 pages to iCloud document, and it is saved, it is therefore more a compatible Pages ' 09 document.

  I updated my firmware a month ago, and since then, I could not access the MP3s on my rocket of the computer.

  When I go to the folder in my music, it shows that the mp3s I put on it since the update.

  I can access all of the MP3 player, but not from the computer.

  It's especially hard when I want to delete a large number of files, and it is impossible to remove from there once again.

  It also means that I can still play my older music on my computer.

  Anyone has any idea what happened and how I can fix this problem?

  The update of the firmware has probably changed the USB setting; It usually does. The files that you have added since are transfrerred in a different way now.

  Normally, I put all the fields, check boxes and option boxes I need using Acrobat before downloading/creating a Widget, but were never able to determine if/when in acrobat that you could potentially affect hide/show/toggle conditions.  In this way, if I ever need to make any changes to the PDF source and produce a new widget, I don't have to redo all the settings of the conditions if these fields does not change in any way.

  You can add text fields (or checkbox and radio buttons) and name these fields using the tag text, but without the brackets syntax.

  You need to update Acrobat 8.1 to enable support for the driver instance printer Adobe PDF PostScript beyond Windows XP 32-bit, Vista and (including Windows 7) and for versions of 64-bit operating system. Note that Acrobat 8.x is not and will never be supported by all modern versions of Microsoft Office.

  I think that myself and others have the same problem with Photos (because I see similar issues happening in other posts). I'm looking at my photo album, and I start typing the titles for each photo, as I did for years. Everything's fine until I decided to remove a photo from the album, and the rest of the photos are rearranged. Then titles begin to disappear. So I retype the titles I JUST typed, and everything seems fine. So I remove another picture and Boom, titles disappear.

  I have a plugin that I wrote which is performed via COM by my c# .net 4.0 launcher application. The function of the plugin is to analyze the PDF open for annotations that are annotations 'Launch' and update each JS actions or the actions of the URI.

  The problem is that some of the documents that are passed in the plugin are NOT annotated in them, and so the code of the plugin is written to do nothing for the documents in the case.

  Documents that are modified by the plugin will be saved to the location on the local hard drive, but files that are not modified should simply be moved to another location.

  How you can tell if the open PDF file has been modified by the plugin before you can save or copy the file my application COM?

  I thought that if I could get a MD5 or a byte array of the temporary file that is created by Acrobat as soon as the document is open and compare the MD5 or byte of the array of the same temp file after that changes (or not) were made to the document, then I'd be able to tell if a change had taken place. What is the best way to go about this? Is there a better way?

  OK thanks Malcolm. Who did the trick. I will say that in c#, it is somewhat a chore to get these JS commands to run properly, so I'll post the code here who works for someone else who has this problem and needs resolution.

  On the drive home screen, it is at the top left an icon marked documents. Touch and you will get a list of your files. Drag the file you want to delete, from right to left. You will get to Remove the button to the right of your file. Tap this button and your file has disappeared. The list of files under the document icon are a list recently, and you can not delete the files from there.
