PDF & Firefox files

All of my pdf files that are joined open in firefox.  Why they won't open in Adobe?

Hi Bob,

It seems that you open the attached PDF file in Firefox using built in Fire fox Plugin.

If you want to use Adobe Reader plug-in, you can go through the following steps:

To change to using the PDF Viewer integrated into your PDF reader plugin:

  1. Click on the menu button and choose Options
  2. Select the Applications Panel.
  3. Find Portable Document Format (PDF) from the list and click on it to select it.
  4. Click the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry, and then select use aname of PDF reader (in Firefox).

  • Can't save Adobe PDF settings file error

I use Acrobat X Pro with Windows 8. I downloaded a .joboptions file to add to distill. I select settings > settings to add Adobe PDF, navigate to the location of the file, select the file and click Open.

Distiller says: "cannot save to the Adobe PDF settings file.

On the start menu, I click on Adobe Acrobat X Pro and select Properties > compatibility > run this program as an administrator. It did not help. Suggestions welcome.

When everything has failed, read the error message.

I managed to do work by creating the directory where distilling wanted to store the file:

    c:\Users\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings

  • Can I edit a PDF/A file and retain the attributes of PDF/A?

Can I edit a PDF/A file by changing the display/a Mode in the preferences of the Document '' never. ''  The file will retain its PDF/A in such that the font attributes incorporated once the file is changed?  It does not matter if the file is no longer PDF/A compliance.

DON'T DO THIS!   Turn off this preference is a BAD IDEA.

Upgrade to Acrobat or Reader XI and use the new option 'Enable editing' for PDF/A files.

  • Disable the "PDF Compatible file Creation"?

Is there a way to disable the option 'Create PDF Compatible file' default in Illustrator CS4?

    Thank you.

HAVE nearby. Make a copy of the Preferences of Illustrator file (users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings / fr_FR / Adobe Illustrator Prefs), and open it in a Word Editor.

    Find the following

    {aifileformat}
    /cmykPostScript 0
    /documentPSLevel 3
    /clipboardPSLevel 3
    / PDFCompatibility 1
    /enableATEWriteRecovery 0
    /enableATEReadRecovery 0
    /enableContentRecovery 0

    Change the 1 to 0 /PDFCompatibility

    Save the file.

Drag the Adobe Illustrator Prefs existing out of the folder file and replace it with the modified file. Restart IT.

  • PDF and Firefox files slight annoyance

    Hi rawbinator,

Have you checked to see if your PDF is updated? I would take a glance files PDF view in Firefox. There is a lot of information in there, and it lists some different add-ons PDF. I would like to try both to see if it is localized to a single.

    Hope this helps!

  • don't print from firefox, file is automatically removed from the queue

I try to print from the web browser firefox or a pdf document and files will not be not print and are removed from the queue after about 30 seconds. I tried the browser google chrome and they print well from there. This problem just started today.

Make sure that you do not print in a file selected and the correct printer is selected. You can see these settings in the "native print dialog" window when you do {Ctrl + P}.

  • Where is my pdf print files going?

When printing to PDF format, the print dialog box indicates the action is performed. However, he didn't ask me for a storage location. Where the file is stored? Any help is appreciated.

This is part of the Presto! PageManager product? I have no personal experience with this product, but generally a print-to-PDF solution works with all programs. You have a current version?

One thought: do not check the box "Print to file" in the print dialog box, since the "printer" is created the file.

What module do you have installed? Obviously if it is not the generation of PDF files, it will not solve your problem.

An extension that works well for me is 'Print pages in PDF format' which generates the PDF file that you see on the screen, allowing it to continue working hyperlinks. Unfortunately, it sometimes freezes (I did not understand the circumstances). You can try it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/print-pages-to-pdf/

If you prefer to print and need an another printer driver, here are a few ones that are free, I mentioned in the latest discussions:

  • Cannot display PDF Firefox 3D content

    Hello
I am trying to display a 3D PDF file created from a 3d design software in the web browser, PDF file opens but 3D in the file content PDF does not appear, if I try to open the same in IE it opens perfectly. Any solution for this?

The current versions of Firefox have allowed a built-in PDF Viewer that has all of the features that other PDF as Adobe Reader readers have or can not work properly otherwise.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox to use another application like Adobe Reader or define always ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications.

You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer.

You can check the value of pref plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types on the topic: config page and delete the application/pdf if it is present or reset the pref via the context menu by default if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not integrated PDF Viewer).
