Hi Bqueste,

Ø what version of Acrobat reader is installed on your computer?

Try the following steps.
Note: These steps are for Acrobat Reader 9

1. make sure that all your Internet Explorer browser sessions are closed
2. launch the Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
3. Select change, and then select Preferences.  In the categories Menu, and then click Internet .
4. in the Web browser Options section, select Display PDF in browser.
5. click OKand then exit Acrobat Reader.
6. restart Internet explore and see if the problem persists.

I hope this helps.

  • Open a PDF in IE8 with Acrobat, not Reader?

    Hi Chaps,

I used to be able to open a PDF file from a HTML link, which would then open in Internet Explorer 8 using Adobe Acrobat.

Since the installation of Adobe Reader, all PDFs open in IE8 using the player, instead of Acrobat, so now I can't modify the PDF.

I searched through preferences in both programs, changed all types of program associate for Acrobat, reinstalled Acrobat files, but I can't get it back!

    I use Windows 7 (64-bit), Acrobat 9 and Reader 9.

If anyone knows which option to change, it will help me no end!

Does not support Adobe Reader and Acrobat on the same Windows machine. Uninstall the drive and then re-install Acrobat.

  • Windows 7 64-bit Adobe Reader 9.3 and IE8 - opening PDF in the tab and then says closing tab causes IE8

I've been running Win7 64 bit for quite awhile now and only up to what a few weeksa go started having problems with Adobe Reader continues to ask me how I wanted to read a document and click here to save the settings, and don't ask me again.  The box has never worked and it will continue to ask me questions constantly everytime I open a new PDF file.

I finally understood how to get rid of the nagging dialog box but now everytime I open a new tab with a PDF file in it and then close the tab, IE8 crashes and tries to pick up the tab.  It's never happened before.

What is the cause and how to fix this?  Please notify.

Upgrade to 9.3 this morning and the problem remains.  Tried to uninstall all traces of Adobe Reader and reinstall but still no dice.

Problem happens also to home on a similar computer running Win 7 64 bit and use an earlier version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

    Try this:

Right-click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pop ups upward. Right click again on 'Internet Explorer'. Then left click on "Run as Administrator". I had another problem with the drive and this has solved the problem. The problem I had was that I couldn't save PDFs in IE8. This solves this problem.

  • This font is displayed in characters corrupt in PDF format

    Hello PDF gurus.

We have a very unusual problem that support level causing 1 of alarms. It's very simple. We have a PDF file that uses a font of Sinhala called FM_Bindumathi.TTF. It can download by http://www.fonts2u.com/download/fmbindumathi-x.font .

When we look at this PDF file using the Google Chrome browser it shows correctly.

But when we discover this PDF using IE8 / Firefox8 (using plugins Adobe) you get corrupt characters.

Appaarently Google Chrome doesn't use Adobe Reader 9 , but its own plug-ins. IE and Firefox use the Adobe Reader 9 plugin.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled to the police. But it still does not.

What could be the problem here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My OS is Windows XP SP 3.

    Thank you

    Peter

Player can display fonts If you use the right name. In this case, an error has occurred which some functionality hidden in other software around. Unfortunately, fonts have several names, not all visible and not all used. Of course, it is possible that other readers can't find it under this name. The police is fundamentally poorly made.

I repeat: If you want fonts to work reliably, nest them. I'd actually this consider a mistake in the production process if I were asked to solve the problem on the site.

  • Recorded not listed is not in the file Explorer

I saved a file .pdf using IE8. I can see the file in IE8 save dialog (see:http://www.mediafire.com/i/?a5lvp50y0tvuxj6). However, the same file does not appear in the same directory using Windows Explorer (see:http://www.mediafire.com/i/?sfwckky0cecydxb). I know that you can not see the full directory structure in the first picture, but trust me, it is identical to the WinExplorer image path: C:\Program Files (x 86) \TeamViewer).

There is a link to the file in the list of "recent Articles". But the link can't find anything (I get "Missing shortcut").

Why this file appears in one place, but not the other?

    Thank you

I called him a document in Word 2007 and edited.  Then I did a save as and renamed the document.  Now I can't find it.  It is not visible through Windows Explorer.  But I remember in Word in the list of recent files.  I save it to the desktop and I can see it from there.  Then I did a search for the first words of the title to the search in C:\.  He found the file, on the right, where I put it.  After that, I could see it in Windows Explorer.  I think that it's indexing doesn't work does not correctly.  Another of the improvements of the millisecond.

Have you tried to uninstall Adobe and then reinstall? There is a tool available (never needed to try it so don't know how it works).

  • PDF files does not open in IE8, Windows 7__

I have a new Dell computer running Windows 7, IE8 and the last player Adobe (v.9).
I can't view the pdf files I get in emails in my Hotmail account.  I need to copy my laptop Windows XP on a USB to transfer and view and print them.  The problem doesn't seem to be with the Adobe reader software, but with Windows programs.

For those of you running a 64 bit OS, you are aware that Adobe Reader is only 32 bits (and thus connects to the variant 32 bit IE), right?

You can choose to run the 32-bit Internet Explorer on a 64-bit computer.  I have actually two icons on my desktop; THE 32 bit and 64 bit IE.

The path to the executable files are:

    64-bit: "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.

    32-bit: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet.

  • Lack of tools PDF toolbar in IE8

    Hello.

Running Win7 with IE8 and Acrobat 9 Standard.  For some reason any after that I installed Acrobat 9, IE8 does not load the Adobe toolbar.

In IE8 under Tools > manage add-ons (currently loaded modules) I can see the following:

    1 adobe PDF link Helper
2 adobe PDF Conversion Toolbar Helper

    3 SmartSelect class

What I do not see the side is simply "Adobe PDF".

Anyone know how to get it back?

This is what it should look like (snap shot taken from another machine).

    Snap3.png

I found that the problem is the 64-bit version of IE 8.  When I switch to the 32-bit version, which is an option under 'all programs', the missing toolbars are there.  Sheesh.  It seems that Microsoft or Adobe would have figured this out.  There are a number of forums/Articles/pick-up of conversations where this issue is discussed, and no solution.  Even they do not identify the problem.

  • Download a pdf file, save, won't show the full name of the backup file when name contains a space, stop the name of the file.

Download a pdf file, the file name contains a space in the middle of the file. The name showing on the 'Save' popup is first letters up to space. Works fine on IE8. For example, a file named "old snail_12345.pdf" would show only 'old' (ignore the "s"). This is on Firefox 30.0, WinXP Pro.

Apparently, there is an extension to work around this problem. I have not tried myself. See:

The screen of my Satellite X 200 - 1AA freezes when I try to open PDFs with Adobe Reader 9 on the Internet pages. What is cause and solution? I use Norton Internet Security 2009 and IE8.

    Hello

Maybe it s a problem with Adobe acrobat reader. I'm not sure because I m using the IE8 and Adobe reader for and could open PDFs correctly.

I think you need to reinstall the software Adobe reader again because it might be possible that the States members to update (from IE7 to IE8) messed with something on your system

  • Not "Save as pdf" option for web printing "Smart Print" with IE9

Just updated IE9 browser and noticed that there is no option 'Save as pdf' Smart for IE9 catalog as it was in older versions of smart Web printing for the IE8 and other earlier versions?

Are there ' work around ' way, apart from the "Print Screen" heavier and HP approach will add back this feature is very handy in the future upgrades?

I honestly always preferred Google Chrome IE, just for compatibility and ease of use of the browser.

Just to tell you, SWP is a program that was written for IE8, but has been made compatible with IE9 which led some of the lost features crash. The feature can be added in the future, but I can't put a time table on when this feature will be added. Is there a specific task you want to accomplish that I might be able to give a more appropriate work around?

Let me know and I'll get back to you!

Winmail opener - Tools - Options - Security tab - do not allow the opening or saving of attachments.

Your antivirus can also have parameters for the latter.

Also - start - programs - find Windows Mail icon on this list (NOT the one on the top of the Start Menu)

Click with the right button on Windows Mail Icon - Properties - tab shortcut-

Be sure to start in East = %UserProfile% (if different note this because your antivirus might have changed, he)

BTW, I make good use of PopPeeper that has great features and allows a fixation easy access. Most of the antiviral product such as Avast that I use always check it out.
