If you pay for it you have purchased Adobe Acrobat DC not Acrobat Reader.

Acrobat Reader is used to view PDF files and is free to use.

You can go to 'Tools', and then choose Protection-> Encrypt-> encrypt with password

If a dialog box appears asking you to 'Application of new security settings', click 'yes '.

Choose "Acrobat X and later" (recommended Option), if the recipient uses Acrobat X or Acrobat Reader X or later. Otherwise, select "Acrobat 7.0 and later versions" for better backward compatibility.

    * Ensure that "encrypt all the contents of document" is enabled.

    * Make sure 'Require a password to open the document' is checked.

Type a password in the "Password to Open Document" field. Then click on 'OK '.

Re-enter the password you have selected and click on 'OK '. If a dialog box prompt indicating that the security settings will apply to the document until you save the document. Click on 'OK '. Then, save the PDF by clicking on 'File'-> 'save '. And check that "(SECURE)" appears in the title bar.

  • Is Adobe Reader for iOS and Android Support with Solution PKI encryption?

    Hello

I searched for an answer if Adobe Reader for iOS and Android can read PDF files encrypted by infrastructure solution to public key (encrypted by a public key, in order to be decrypted by the private key pair), but to date I have not found the answer.  From the Adobe web site, I understand that Adobe Reader for Android supports to read a document encrypted with AES256 but it does not mention on PKI.  I had to guess it does not support encryption with PKI, but I would just get a formal response and would like to know if Adobe Reader Mobile will support it.

    Thank you!

Unfortunately, it is still not supported on mobile versions of Adobe Acrobat DC.

  • Recommended Firefox I uninstall adobe reader software that I think my system because of bad reviews. That will effect my programs adobe as a whole?

I'll always be able to open PDF documents in my web browser if the adobe reader software is uninstalled?

Firefox has a built-in PDF file reader.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/view-PDF-files-Firefox-without-downloading-them

The problem with Adobe Reader isn't the popularity or 'poor user comments', it is because there are several security issues with Adobe products, which never seem to get fixed. Most web browsers have their own daughter PDF readers these days, which allow the user to view these files in the browser without needing a plugin.

Looks like the file associations have been corrupted, you may be able to repair the associations through these articles.

If you cannot run the .exe from these programs, take a look at these.

See what this article mentions on a registry key called "UserChoice", if you can adapt this information and apply as appropriate to solve your problem.

  • DEP won't allow Adobe reader to run?

I had this problem several times. My computer was fine to open any PDF file, and I don't know since when it prevented me to open any PDF file. :( What actually happened is when whenever I tried to open a PDF file and windows just automatically close adobe reader and say that there is a problem with adobe reader. So all of this just stopped himself! Windows said it was DEP prevents viruses and bad things to the computer and so and so... I tried to reset the DEP option on my computer, but it says that you can not turn off DEP for this program (adobe reader software). Very well, very well. So I downloaded the latest version of adobe reader and the problem was solved in part. By part I meant that I can open only PDFs that have already registered on my computer, but not the web browser.  I then went to the Web site of firefox (the browser I normally use) for help and it fixed the problem. However... today, I turned on my computer and tried to open a PDF file on the web broswer, everything was back to where it was! What the hell is happening? I can't open any PDF file with adobe reader, and I need to open the files of sugar! PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you. : D

  • Windows Vista and Adobe Reader 6.0CE compatibility

I have download Adobe Reader 9.3, activate it and start the installation. Then appears the message: to continue. Conductor (process Id: 1988) >. What should I do? (Sorry for the bad English)

Whatever Adobe Reader 6.0CE has to do with the problem?  I don't understand the connection.

You must research on this problem in the technical support of Adobe and/or poster group in their forum:http://www.adobe.com/support/reader/ andhttp://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_reader_forums/adobe_reader.

This seems to be a problem with their software and not with Vista (or you need to explain the problem just a little more clear).

    I hope this helps.

  • Error with Adobe Reader

I'm putting it on a page that requires adobe reader... I click on the link it will not come to the top, the error message is the problem with the Adobe reader... so I click on a different site on the same page and it happens with the help of adobe

    Hello
If Adobe Reader opens fine on a webpage or link and PDF files locally, it probably isn't and issues with your system.

It could be that the site or the link to the file is broken. I would try to refresh the page to see if you have just a bad cache of the page. Go to the page and press F5 and try again.

If this does not work, let us know the site and the file you are trying to open.

    Hope that helps!
