PE9 why is the audio track sometimes change appearance?

In the chronology of the PE9 why the audio sometimes appears as a gray light waveform , sometimes as a solid black wave?

I does not change the display of the timeline by clicking on the "speaker" icon and turning of a waveform in a solid black straight line.

What I referring to here is to see the sound waveform on green background shown as a solid black waveform or waveform clear gray.

Attached screenshot image all the clips were recorded in sequence (same settings), imported into the computer at a time and all taken in the computer file with 'get media' in a single block, so in other words, they are all taken to the same settings and none have been changed.

Despite having made no changes to any of the clips they are displayed, as you can see to be clear gray or solid black audio signals.

In the screen shot below the first clip has a black solid waveform, but there may be a complete random mix as to where the different styles of audio waveform are positioned, so he isn't always the first clip that is different.

Question, in two parts, A) what is the significance of the difference in the color of the wave and B) is it possible to control everything?

This is not a one-time event; I see often and have done with three different cameras.

Thank you for your attention.

Kind regards... Andy

It is more of a guess than an answer, but I did some playing with different types of file and it seems that the audio was brought in with a video clip (I tried mpg, mts and DV) shows a waveform audio of audio files (tried with mp3, m4a and wav), black all the gray show with waveform.

Perhaps this applies to you?

See you soon,.

  • Help please - CS5.5 Why is the audio track not projection in the timeline?

Of course, I would appreciate your help.  I have been using Adobe first 6, then 6.5 years as a hobby.  I'm a big fan of the first.  Around November 2011, I upgraded to CS5.5.

I was working on a video with my son recently.  We use MPEG4 video of his digital camera.  I never have this problem.

Imported fine video.  The problem is that the audio do not arise in the audio track.  When we played the video track, the audio played, but doesn't

no show.  Out of curiosity I opened the first Elements to see if the audio track would show the video track separately, and he did.

Is there something I can do to make the audio track appears in CS5.5?

Thank you for your time and your help.

Until you see one that you can't see, scroll down the audio tracks. It can be on track 4 or even raining down.

The audio track to video1 moved to audio2, why, and I can restore to audio1?

Now, I know what you did and what happened.

The key was when you wrote

. I think that's all happened after I had added another audio track

When you right-click close a numbered audio track name and select Add titles in the context menu, you make your selection

    a. Add the number of video and/or audio tracks

    b. development: before first track or after last range

Here are the scenarios given when there are 3 audio tracks by default 3 video. If you have video related to audio in 1 Audio video 1

    To get your result

    You must have used

    Add track

Video add 1 before the first track

Audio add 1 before the first track

To overcome this situation where the content of the video 1 is linked to 2 Audio content when you decide to add an audio track to the timeline

    1. right click on the items in this undesirable state, select Delete Audio and video of the pop-up menu links, pass the audio not coupled 2 Audio to Audio 1. Align the video and audio as they were originally...

    2. Select video 1 and Audio 1 at the same time, right-click anywhere in the selection and select the Audio and video connection from the drop-down.

    If you had selected instead

    Add track

Video add 0 before first track

Audio add 1 before the first track

    you would have gotten

Note the arrangement that created this way.

What are the details of what you asked to do? Explore and experiment with the video, add titles or audio track number and investment options.

  • Audio selection in auto Cs5.5 still plays rather then change just the audio track

I'm a newbie even after moving to DVD SP in yet for the creation of menu blu ray. Ive read and re-read the help files and they seem to be the same for the versions still dating back at least to cs3 for that matter... so I do something wrong or still just simply do not do a very basic thing...

I'm building a blu - ray with a video of singel track and 2 audio player. I am trying to bind a menu to allow a user to select a 5.1 or 2ch audio version for a feature film. Everything should be simple. I have a menu with several buttons. Each links button on an audio track in my calendar.

However, when I test my links, instead of simply changing the audio and return to the menu (according to the instructions in the help files), the movie plays from the beginning.

The correct audio track is played, but it is not my intention, at that time there. I want the user to choose the audio track and then allow the user to press another key play or to another menu and back before the movie starts.

So, how do just change the audio track but he not play there?

Aid says use "indicate relationship" so I choose this option and select the timeline, Yes, select the track audio 1 or 2, Yes. But are there any different way to do it if I really wanted to play the track at this time as well. What is the fundemental bit I'm missing here? Something to do with the type of button or a werid overide setting I'm missing? Can still actually do this? its quite frustrating seen arising from the use of SP of DVD, which allows any script, set gprm/sprm registers in a program that does not allow you to do anything beyond creating very very basic.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

To return to the menu after changing audio or any subtitle track, you must select the menu desired in the link option specify and change the audio and subtitle accordingly.

In the example above, what I did was, I went on the link specify, the menu, like target and also changed the audio track it and clicked OK

So here, after pressing button 3 (point 3), I would like to return to the menu and my audio would be handed over to the audio 2 track.

After that, what timeline I play, that would be played with track audio 2.

This is just a small example to show how it's done. Define navigation as you want.

  • Visual 'amplification' of the audio track

I'm in first 10 items and find very useful Visual representation of sound in the audio track.  However, the only noise that disrupts the horizontal line are relatively strong.  Other quieter sounds - especially speeches - often cannot be 'seen '.  Is it even when the expansion of the track audio on the screen to get a longer view of the detailed sound wave - I find very useful when editing?

There are 2 settings for all follow the heights. Click the icon to the left of the track to change.

Try to 'normalise' the sound. Sound waveforms should fill the height of the track only where there is a strong PEAK but its normal should be about halfway up.

If the sound 'waveform' is very low, it means that source material is recorded too low. Maybe you have an error in your camera?

Maybe her camera has been set to loud sounds or its automatic system volume is not working properly or not turned on,

Cameras sometimes have a 'boost' for soft sounds setting. Try this if yes

Sometimes a defective electret microphone peaks ranging in a sense, this half of the average level (and causes a slight distortion)

The average level of the floor at a normal level should be approximately 6 dB below the highest peak (spike in the wave form).

Sometimes a noise intermittent lound may require the rest of the sound in a clip down due to the automatic level system in any camera.

You can restore the level of any clip to "normalize" it. (To select in the menu after selecting the audio clip to normalize)

This sets the peak the HIGHEST in any clip to the max level and if this pic is already lower then the maximuim then evokes the full clip as well.

If a spike as a rugged camera is in the way, you can zoom in on the cob, cut sets share and other advanced and reduce just the level of the edge of say 6 DB, and then normalize the whole claws on each side of him to bring it all back to normal.

Can Hello someone help me? I just started editing that I have the latest version with all the updates on a computer based on windows wizzy I'm edition fortunately far away and my audio tracks have completely disappeared from my schedule, I can still hear audio but can not see the tracks. I have no idea how get them thank you Heather back

Place your cursor on the right baseline of V1 at the bottom of the blue box that says V1.

You will see the cursor change to a line with and up and down arrow.

When it goes to this slider, click down and hold the mouse button down, move the bottom of the video tracks to the top of the timeline panel. That should reveal the audio tracks.

  • Color of the audio track

I feel like I'm going crazy. I swear to you that I used to be able to change the color of the audio track all exactly the same way it's done with a video track. Now when I change the color it stays green with only the name of little changing clip of color, which is useless.

Am I crazy or something changed? I searched your preferences and settings but cannot find anything. Is there a way to change the color of the ENTIRE audio clip?

If for some reason, that it was something different from Adobe, PLEASE restore.

You have a verified Color of Label for use of Audio waveforms on?

  • Disorder of the audio track

I am unable to name an audio to any audio track I want. Instead of highlighting 'Audio 1' and to have the 'A1' beside that it only lets my fall on the background audio track. I'm unable to move and when I lock the audio track and then drop an audio clip on the timeline, it creates a new track! Y at - it something I am doing wrong? It happened, and then it was fine later, so I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I accidentally checked a box etc...

    Thank you

    Hey man,

The audio tracks are predefined for mono, stereo or sound 5.1 etc. So if you drag its mono for example to your audio section in the sequence, PP it automatically on the track that is predefined for mono. If you want to change it you should do in your project settings every time that you start a new project.

  • The audio tracks are destructive?

I am quite new to the first, but not so very new to NLE. The biggest obstacle I'll have my switch at first is that when I drop a new video + audio file on the timeline, or if I drag a file already existing around the timeline, and the audio track of this file should land on top of any other file audio clip, the audio clip that was there is suddenly truncated. I expect that the audio clips would just be piled one on the other, but it seems that any audio clip that gets all or partially 'hidden' in another way is destroyed.

I tried to drag the rear audio clip to be the same length as its video clip associated with, but no matter what I do, the audio clip is always shorter than its associated video clip.

Y at - it a command to "restore the audio track of the video? A command that could bring back if it was totally destroyed, or I would like to 'stretch' the audio clip to the same length as the video track?

I hope that makes sense for someone...

    Thank you

    -joe

The change is non-destructive.  Whaever you do on the chronology does not affect the original material.

To 'untruncate' the audio (or video track, depending on what you want to do), make sure that the track is not selected, and drag alt the tail (or head) of the audio track (or the video track) to its original location.  It will not work properly if the track is selected before pressing the ALT key.

You can also separtate tracks audio and video so that they are independent of each other.

It is also the technique to use if you want to change the audio tracks to slide

  • First damaged the audio track of the XDCAM EX

I am very new to first.  I received a file from a friend who wants to convert the video in NTSC DV widescreen.  I imported the MP4 file and added to the timeline.  I was able to convert very well except for a matter of proportions.  So, I decided to try again.  Much to my surprise I find that the audio track is corrupted.  The first part of the track is fine except occasional pop & cracks, then after about 10 minutes that the entire audio track turns to the peaks of white noise?  I checked the date of the change of the source file and of course it has changed.  I does not say the creation of crush anything and thought that he would not modify the source files.  How can this be?  What can I do?

    Thank you.

Is there a way to get the "rescan" first audio track?

You could remove the Clip both the chronology and the project Panel. Re-import then this Clip from the HARD drive. Watch it at the bottom right of the graphic interface for the progress bar in accordance with standard to complete, before making any change.

    Good luck

    Hunt

PS - you can also update your video and audio, just in case cards drivers. However, I don't see how only Clips would be affected. Looks like its audio is not completely consistent.
