Pending ASO cache limit

Is - it there anyway that we can extract the value pending limit cache using esscmd or maxl other than the Regional service console?

Yep - Application of query (Aggregate Storage).

In fact, I say 'yes', but I don't know if the returned values will show the value pending before a reboot...

    Hello

I want to create a cache distributed with node 2.

  • increase the 'size of the cache pending' of our cube ASO to capture whole database in memory?

    Happy new year everyone,

We want to take full advantage of our 54 GB of free memory on our server Exalytics X 4.

From this site, I read more in anticipation of the ASO cache size will reduce the disk i/o.

The default / .dat file size of data from our database of the ASO is 9.9 GB with more 100 million cells entry level.

We should increase the 'size of the cache in waiting"our ASO to 9.9 GB cube so that the entire .dat will be cached?

    Thank you.

    ===============

PS. Here's what I found in ASO Tuning white paper, which seems to recommend 512 MB or 1 GB.

ASO cache size has an effect on the performance of loading data. For

small databases with cells of entry 2 million or less, the default

ASO cache size to 32 MB is sufficient. For a larger database

with 20 million cells, 64 or 128 MB of cache is more appropriate.

A database with 1 billion cells or more, the size of the cache can

be placed as high as 512 MB or 1 GB if memory permits.

Put all of the memory base looks really cool, but my experience is that in most cases it is not necessary. In my experience, the benefit of the ASO cache decreases rapidly. Here's an example I wrote about running aggregations:

  • Caching question, why do you always have to do over and over again?

    Levinaderuijter wrote:

What does bloody a cache if such information is not cached in it and immediately available when opening a folder. I mean, what is then exactly what is cached?

As we mentioned in this forum often, Cache is not the strong point for the bridge. However the problem you and Kevin describe is not common.

For the cache, you can set preferences to export cache on file if possible and which should speed things up when visiting a folder with this cache file exported. Also in the preferences, there is a slider for the amount of files to store in the cache. Ideally, when the limit for that amount is reached the Cache replaces the older files, so it might be that you have him reached the limit for the central cache and lost files to the previous file cached.

When after you move the files to another folder, it must also be cached for the new location, but unfortunately enough isn't this work always as it should.

Also, you must leave bridge to give time to cache the files completely, this could take a while depending on the size of files, number of files, and speed of the processor of your Mac.

Another question, if you have changed the settings default to ACR or installed a version update for ACR with the other settings to bypass can start caching again to match thumbs with these settings.

If no other default settings of ACR are applied or in the cache limit is not reached, it should be no problem to look at a previous set file in cache.

    < expiry delay > 1 h < / timeout >
    < / local plan >

but I can not find somethings on the coherence jvm memory usage?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

There is no magic solution to stop short of memory coherence. A cluster of coherence is a limited resource and has a finite size and you need to do some sort of exercise as you would with something like a database capacity planning system. You wouldn't continue to put data in a database without him running out of resources, and the same is true with consistency.

Yes, there are things like expiry which allows you to limit the size of the caches, but like the previous poster said, when the limit is reached data will be evicted from memory. Unless you have some form of persistent storage for these data using something like a dumps, while the data is lost.

You can set the overflow to disk so that when a size the cache limit is reached as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15357_01/coh.360/e15723/cache_examples.htm#BACCHCIA

The problem with the ousting of size based and exceeded the size in function, is that the limit is per cache per JVM. This means that for a system with several caches and services that you usually end up expulsion or overflow to disk for a cache that reached its limit when there still may be a lot of memory left that you need to allow for each cache being full in your design.

I saw people in the past are trying to find different ways of ousting of data based on the used JVM heap, but they never seem to be satisfactory. If you've seen a chart of the JVM heap usage you will see that it is usually a model of Sawtooth constantly up and down. A JVM could hit 90% use but still have a lot of real space because he had not recently made a GC. If you have a schema data eveicted when the reached JVM say 90% you could start to expel the data too early. Also, it's probably enough data in a cluster push possile faster than data can be evicted if you might still run out of memory. A cluster of coherence consists of multiple JVM processes and if you get skewed the disaggregation of data or you caching of objects of different sizes, it is quite possible to get Java virtual machines in the cluster running off lot well before others. The project I'm working on that, we had a situation where we had a few nodes in the cluster using more than 300 MB of heap more than the other nodes in the cluster - is quite a big difference when the total heap was only 2.5 GB.

As I said the best thing to do is good capacity planning. Work out how much you need to organize and work on the size of your cluster based on that data. You probably still have some sort of eviction of the data well. The system on which I work at eviction of the moment according to some data and custom eviction of other data based on business rules. Custom eviction is juats another process that verifies the data and expels the relevant stuff.

  • Creating movie SWF errors file

    Dear Forum,

CS5.5 running and I have errors when I publish, debug or listen to samples:

Creating SWF movie to the error file.

Make sure that the destination file is not read-only or opened by another application. Also, check that the file name is too long.

This error appears constantly and sometimes didn't appear at all. I sometimes find myself hammering Alt + Maj + F12 for twenty times before we get to "through". I've seen a number of subjects passed on this issue, but none of the solutions presented here seemed permanent solutions. Does anyone have an idea? It is kill productivity, really.

    Thanks in advance.

Disable that and also clear your ASO cache in the same menu as you test your movie from. See if you have a cache problem.

  • The video cache failed to limit

    Hello

I do the initial installation of my catalog, so I import, move... lots of images and videos.

My video cache is set to 3 GB max. However, it grew to over 150 GB. I had to manually purge.

    I use LR 2015.2.1 release.
    Is this a bug?

Is - this 3 GB per video or an overall limit? I think it's one of the mysteries of Lightroom.

Manual purge is the only option I know. Perhaps you could make it a habit to purge before importing new videos to work on.

I tend to not import videos in LR as I see in Bridge and I first to the Assembly.

  • How limit the cache coherence specific servers in the cluster?

    Hello

I had two knots of osb and consistency both servers in the cluster. I have two caches (a cache of the BSO and other employee cache).

In the cache of the BSO, I put the properties of OSB. So when the OSB server is down, I don't want one of these properties to be cached.

So, I need to limit the cache of OSB OSB only to nodes. In this regard, any help is very useful.

    Kind regards

    Praveen

You can accomplish this with one or more caches in different services. A cluster of coherence manages a group of Java virtual machines, in which each virtual machine JAVA manages one or more services. Each cache must belong to a service. If a cache 'X' belongs to the service 'A' and cache 'Y' service 'B', we hear this cache 'X' will live only in the JVM that contains the service "A". You can create the same structure with OSB and external cache servers.

Dave Felcey, product manager of coherence, wrote an interesting blog that explains this scenario more information: https://blogs.oracle.com/felcey/entry/coherence_clustering_principles
