Performance: APEX executes SQL statements in order...?

Hello

I'm pretty sure but want to ask anyway..., I have 10 selection lists in region 1 and a report in region 2.

Lets say that the report takes 10 seconds and each single selection list takes 1 second, that I have to wait 20 seconds (each single selection list one after the other and then my report) or is the application of the parallel report executed for lists of selection... and I have only to wait 10 seconds for the entire page...?

Thanks, Jürgen

Sequentially, so 20 seconds for the page.

Run the page in debug mode to get schedules for the rendering of each component.

    This is not unusual. Another app could analyze for example hard the most often used SQLs in upstairs app - making benefit of further processing (in theory) of sweet analysis when you use these SQLs.

    In fact, I remember reading something to this effect as a performance for some factor or another Oracle document or note?

    So unless you have serious questions of shared pool, why bother with these sliders? What would be the problem?

  • Identify the SQL statements that are executed frequently

    I would like to identify SQL statements that are executed may times (e.g., > 1000 times) during an interval AWR.

    I am aware of coloring a SQL_ID with exec ('...') dbms_workload_repository.add_colored_sql; but then the SQL ID must be known.

    Is it also possible to do the same for the (not yet known) SQL statements that are executed > 1000 times? I think that the SQL statements that run very quickly (for example 1 s <) won't be captured automatically in a CWA even if those statements are frequently performed.

  • Order of execution of SQL statements

    Hello

    I have two SQL statements where the first statement executes on a table with more than 40 million lines, the second statement is running on a table more 6 million lines.  When they are running their own each take about 0.15 seconds to run, but when combined they take 20 minutes to run, (the second SQL statement is inserted in the WHERE clause of the statement of first).  It would seem that after combining these statements, the first statement goes through all 40 million lines before it performs the SELECT in the WHERE clause.  I think that what is necessary is to ensure the SELECT in the WHERE clause is executed first... or something like that!  Anyone has any ideas on how to combine these statements but not suffer from the performance impact?

    The first statement is:

    Select csi.instance_id,

    OEL.ordered_item

    of apps.csi_item_instances csi,.

    Apps.oe_order_lines_all oel

    where csi.instance_id in

    (1718000,3698000,48740202)

    and csi.last_oe_order_line_id = oel.line_id;

    The second statement is:

    Select / * + INDEX (IEA (attribute_id)) * /.

    IEA.instance_id

    apps.csi_iea_values do

    where iea.attribute_id = 10004

    and iea.attribute_value is not null;

    The joint return is:

    Select csi.instance_id,

    OEL.ordered_item

    of apps.csi_item_instances csi,.

    Apps.oe_order_lines_all oel

    where csi.instance_id in

    (select / * + INDEX (IEA (attribute_id)) * /)

    IEA.instance_id

    apps.csi_iea_values do

    where iea.attribute_id = 10004

    and iea.attribute_value is not null)

    and csi.last_oe_order_line_id = oel.line_id;

    Thanks for any help,

    Mike

    Your subquery returns probably just two values that you did originally as constants - but the optimizer thinks that you're going to get 564 K lines.  This is why the indicator for the simple query has a beneficial effect, it forces the Oracle to use an index when it would otherwise make a search.

    When the subquery is incorporated, however, the optimizer uses its cardinality expected to decide whether to use a nested loop join or the hash join to CSI_ITEM_INSTANCES, since the large enough estimate, he uses the hash with a join analysis complete.  That's why I pointed out that the fact to tell the optimizer to how many lines outside the subquery should make a difference.

    Have you tried the "common table expression" approach, rather than approach no_merge, but it would not help because it does not change the optimizer for cardinality estimate.  If you want to repeat the method CTE adding boards / * + materialize cardinality (2) * / to the query in the WITH clause, you should get the desired result.

    PL/SQL does not query instructions, only SQL performs.

    Basically, what you're trying to do is a very bad idea. Why I say this is the thought crossed my mind sometimes, back and I initially thought that it's a cool thing to store SQL table. But after several discussions, I learned to know the bad side of this.

  • How to execute a SQL statement that is stored within a SQL Table

    Hello

    If someone please help me with the following problem I would be eternally grateful

    I have a SQL statement that is stored inside a certain SQL table, I want to use this SQL statement inside my PL/SQL procedure.

    Thought a simple solution was to get the SQL statement in a table, and then run it, but how could I do so exactly with PL/SQL? I only started to play with PL/SQL in the last days.

    Thanks in advance!

    Use in the clause, you can use as many variables as needed. But the basic approach remains the same.

    Like many I know no. in SQL. Results of your query in the FROM clause will not be transformed as another query, but just a litral value and your outer query returns this value as "select empno from emp".

    But you can use dynamic sql statements in PL/SQL using EXECUTE IMMEDIATE or DBMS_SQL.

    Something like that.

    DECLARE
     dynamic_from_clause VARCHAR2(4000) := 'select empno from emp';
     vReturnVal NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'SELECT * FROM ('||dynamic_from_clause||')' into vReturnVal ;
    END;
    /

    Just write memory have not tested it.

  • How to execute the sql statement in the file beats?

    I want to execute after the statement
    C:\ > sqlplus/nolog
    SQL > conn scott/tiger
    SQL > select * from tab;

    I know I can achieve it following test.bat and testdb.sql file
    test.bat is:
    sqlplus/nolog @testdb.sql

    TestDB.SQL is:
    Conn scott/tiger
    Select * from tab;

    Now I don't want to use the sql file, I want only use bat file, as follows:
    test.bat is:
    sqlplus/nolog
    Conn scott/tiger
    Select * from tab;

    When I run test.bat, I find only one sqlplus /nolog execute statement, do not execute other statements.
    (1) I want to know if there is a method to run the SQL file by fighting without a sql file? How to make it happen?
    (2) if I call the sql file, how to hide the password of user? Because I don't want other people to know scott password, if I use conn scott/tiger in testdb.sql, other person can see testdb.sql and the password. Is there a good way to avoid?

    Thank you!

    It works a bit different in Windows. Create a file is like this:

    (
      echo conn scott/tiger@orcl
      echo spool c:\temp\list.txt
      echo select sysdate from dual;
      echo spool off
      echo exit
    ) | sqlplus -s -l /nolog

  • The analysis of a sql statement without executing it

    Hello everyone,

    I would like to know a way of parsing sql statements to validate them, so I would get the error messages in advance without executing them.

    Here we have the difficult task to analyze several sql scripts and send corrections to the development team and thirty third companies before applying them in our production databases. I am ready to create a program web/pl sql, making this difficult task, at least one program to identify errors such as lack of owner of the table, nonexistent tables, syntax errors and so on...

    Any information will be a great help!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Pass Pl/sql table in the USING clause in the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement

    Getting error when I try to pass the PL/SQL table in the USING clause in the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement:

    Declare
    result NUMBER;
    TYPE values_tab IS TABLE OF NUMBER INDEX OF directory;
    lv_tab values_tab;
    lv_exp varchar2 (300);
    lv_exec varchar2 (300);
    BEGIN
    lv_tab (1): = 5;
    lv_tab (2): = 48;
    lv_tab (3): = 7;
    lv_tab (4): = 6;
    lv_exp: = ': + b1: b2 + (: b3 *: b4)';
    lv_exec: = 'SELECT'. lv_exp | ' THE DOUBLE '.

    IMMEDIATE EXECUTION
    lv_exec
    IN
    result
    USING
    lv_tab;
    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line (result);

    END;
    /

    Error on line 1
    ORA-06550: line 20, column 12:
    PLS-00457: expressions must be SQL types
    ORA-06550: line 15, column 8:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored

    I am trying to evaluate the expression ': + b1: b2 + (: b3 *: b4) "which is stored in the table. This table has different expressions (expressions about 300). I want to use the bind variable in the expression because each expression evaluated thousands of time may be more in some cases. If I use bind variable can he fill pool.

    Is there a way I can pass parameters with the HELP of (IN) dynamically instead of write "help lv_tab (1), lv_tab (2), lv_tab (3), lv_tab (4)? As number of change of the input parameters depend on the expression in the table.

    If it is possible please suggest any other ideas/approaches

    Help, please...

    Well, you keep changing faster reqs that I can follow. In any case, assuming that N-th variable bind (left to right) corresponds to n-th collection item:

    Declare
        result NUMBER;
        lv_tab values_tab := values_tab();
        lv_exp varchar2(300);
        lv_exec varchar2(300);
        lv_i number := 0;
    BEGIN
        lv_tab.extend(4);
        lv_tab(1) := 5;
        lv_tab(2) := 48;
        lv_tab(3) := 7;
        lv_tab(4) := 6;
        lv_exp := ':5000135+:5403456+(:5900111*:5200456)';
        lv_exec := lv_exp;
        While regexp_like(lv_exec,':\d+') loop
          lv_i := lv_i + 1;
          lv_exec := REGEXP_REPLACE(lv_exec,':\d+',':b(' || lv_i || ')',1,1);
        end loop;
        lv_exec := 'BEGIN :a := ' || lv_exec || '; END;';
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(lv_exec);
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE lv_exec USING OUT result,IN lv_tab;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(result);
    END;
    /
    BEGIN :a := :b(1)+:b(2)+(:b(3)*:b(4)); END;
    95

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
