  We use ATG9.1 and content management [ICC] when I check component DeploymentManager I could see that there is a lot of history on finished / successfully deployed projects.

  Question is - 1.  Is there any show if data continues to grow?

  2. I see that I can purge the data of dyn/admin but I wonder is there a way to write the sql script to purge data directly from db?

  Yes, growth projects will affect the performance of BCC.

  I should be purged on a regular basis.

  Purge of the not recommended sql scripts.

  ATG provides a service purge feature that allows you to delete old projects.

  We are moving our ATG CA instance to a new box - by a change in society from A to b. all the schema (ORACLE) and ATG CA(running on JBOSS) is copied on.

  I was busy learning, to install and prepare the Oracle EMP 11.1.2.3 components.

  Environment:

  New installation - I use Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Standard Deployment Guide and the Guide of Installation and Configuration.

  Windows 2008 R2 - single server for all instances.

  SQL 2008 R2 - on a separate server.

  I started with the deployment guide Standard following all the steps for "installation of the Services of the Foundation" and at the end of the installation, it shows 'Impossible' for these red x products/task and status said Configuration is complete.

  (3) also, does anyone know if it is possible to deploy a web file - determinations.war that contains additional internal application code? What we are trying to do, is provide a single war file that holds not only the code for the determination of the web, but also all the application code that encapsulates the OWD it contains. Right now it just doesn't work. I'm not sure what the conflict is exactly. The only way I seem to be able to get this work is by deploying the code into two separate files of war.

  (2) is caused because your data adapter plugin is not installed correctly. The container that contains your plugin should go to the WEB-INF/lib directory, and you must specify the full qualified class name in the plugin.libraries of the application.properties file property.

  If you have not provided a custom data adapter, Web determinations will configure and tie one by default to use instead, which is the base file. If you perform the WebLogic deployment as a war of unxeploded, you must configure the directory default data directory that the plugin will be used by specifying an absolute path that your determinations Web instance has read/write permissions for in the application.properties file xds.file.path property. In your case (1) is mainly caused by (2) because if your data adapter has been loaded correctly by default you do not at all over.

  With regard to the (3) Yes it is probably possible, provided that you do not have library conflicts. How it's done really depends on what are these additional customizations.

  Leigh, we use the tools to promote the sales of more than three years and recently began our transition to participate of ELMO in early summer. The most common way to get adoption is of course to have some champions and the pigs of India within the sales team who will use, give good feedback and allow you to perform the mass deployment, easier and more refined. That said, I think that if possible it is best to make an appointment to 1-1 with each person who wishes to use the tool. It may take more time to roll, but people will use more because they will understand better with session 1-1. We have a sales team of 100 people, so it's possible for most sales teams.

  In addition, I would say that in view of certain members of senior management and management sales are trying to use the tool. This will cause representatives interested and often want to use the tool if it uses their PVR. We ride on through committed internal messages that use different parts of the company. It allows us to have a uniform look to all messages are sent either external or internal.   I'm looking for a review here.

  In our current environment, 600 more VM is get replicated to disaster recovery site using third-party replication tool. As we intend to upgrade our whole environment to vSphere 5.1, we intend to use the replication of vSphere. We do not plan to use SRM at this point.

  We have two Vcenters, one for the env Prod and other for Dr. approx. We have our replication go on a dedicated channel for OC / 24.

  We are not woried about the Automation and do not come back to this point, MRS is not a choice at this point.

  Questions.

  1. with the limitation of 500 rehearsals (employment) for the unit of replication VSphere, ho we satisfy our need of 600 replications?

  2. can we use vSphere several devices of replication on each site (by vcenter) without using SRM?

  3. If it says 500 is the maximum supported, loads of work how I can configure on device for proper operation.

  4. should I consider SRM in this stadium? If yes why?

  I see, but I guess that at least for a start and a conecpt evidence of the use of VR, a single VRS is enough. In addition, you can always high-end to SRM later and get better performance with the deployment of new technologies...

• Upgrade view 4.5 to 4.6

  I currently have vsphere 4 running esx 4.1 u1.  VMware View is at version 4.5 with the connection to the server running on a Windows 2003 server.  I downloaded all the files needed for the upgrade: agent ConnctionServer 4.6, composer and view.

  I deployed a Server 2008 R2 and installed 4.6 ConnectionServer seen as a 'Standard' server - not yet configured.

  The next steps that I intend to take are:

  data backup of the server (Server 2003) view connection - with the help of vdmexport - turn on this server

  Composer on the vCenter server upgrade

  import data from connection to the new Server 2008 R2 server - using vdmimport

  installation of new officers on basic images (we have related clones) redial

  Ensure that the thin clients (Wyse V10L) point to the correct connection server ip

  Is this the best way to perform this upgrade/deploy new server connection?

  Y does it have to be absent from any gotcha?

  Vdmadmin s s (server name) - r allows you to remove a broker for connections in the replication group.    I always disable from the portal admin to view before I delete it.  Not sure you really must do it, but it's just something I did.

• Best practice of pointing the finger a new vCenter LM?

  What is the best way to point a different vCenter Lab Manager 4? Our Lab Manager is running in our laboratory vC and we would like it to run in our vC Prod.

  What gets moved or show first? Do I have to move the hosts and then point LM for the new vCenter? Or should I point to the new VirtualCenter and then hover over the hosts?

  I think that the process that I follow is this.  I'm assuming that LM 4.x.

  Preparation:

  1. Check that your new version of LM and vCenter are compatible.

  2. Plan a for about 2 to 4 hours maintenance window and notify users.

  3. Credentials document ESX root like
     you will need these.  You vCenter LM admin credentials as well.

  4. Document LM physical network to host ESX vSwitch connections.  You will need to manually reconnect those.

  5. Document LM dedicated vCenter configuration of Resource Pool that you will need to recreate and reconnect these.

  6. Organization of document mappings to Resource Pool that you will need to manually reconnect these institutions.

  Performance:

  1. Disable all user accounts or cutting access so no one can connect to LM.

  2. Perform a test deploy it to a known good Configuration and a model - it's your control test.

  3. UN-deploy configurations and virtual machines inside LM.  This must be cancelled all managed LM VMs in vCenter.  Double check to compensate for any orphans well safe and clean.

  4. Disable and remove all LM Resource Pools.

  5. Disable and remove all of LM ESX hosts.

  6. You can use this opportunity to carry out any maintenance or updates on your ESX host, or not.  Sometimes less variable are better.

  7. Hover over your ESX hosts to the new instance of vCenter.  Constitute a required cluster or Resource Pools there.

  8. Configure LM to the new instance of vCenter.

  9. Fix LM of new objects of Pool of resources on the new instance of vCenter.  This could be a host, Cluster, or a real vCenter Resource Pool.

  10. Previous step should prepare all your LM managed ESX hosts, assuming you have entered the right credentials.  Check this.

  11. Manually reconnect your physical network of LM to vSwitch ESX host connections.

  12. Manually reconfigure your LM organization to the Resource Pool mappings.

  13. At this stage, your organization LM Datastore and media couplings must be reconnected, check.

  14. Perform a test to deploy on the good known Configuration and the model used in step 2 - it should work.

  15. Reactivate the accounts of users and/or access.

  16. Email clear at all.

  17. Beer.

  This project has successfully deployed? only once the project is deployed successfully, you would be able to proceed with that check stage of production deployment. so go and check in the administration console BCC to check if that project was deployed, it may be stuck in the queue too and you will have to manually before you can accept the deployment in production for this project.   A project that was created got stuck in step "approve the deployment project to the target of the staging. I went to/atg/epub/messaging/PublishingMessageSource of the instance of the BCC in dyn/admin to send the message of failure of staging manually to get the project is once again, but when I click on the 'send deployment Message complete', I get the following error:

  Error 500: javax.ejb.EJBException: QUERY_EXCEPTION_MESSAGE: POOR query: id =? 0, Args:? 0 = prc143012; nested exception is: CONTAINER: atg.repository.RepositorySecurityException; Source: ATG. Security.PermissionDeniedException: You do not have read access to the point of the process descriptor.

  I already gave my dyn/admin user all roles defined in the SecurePublishingRepository, which is what I needed to access the start page, but it seems to 'lose' the rights I am trying to send the message to the cause of error to display.

  Does anyone know how to fix this?

  I was able to fix this with the instructions found here: ATG: how to fix projects in an unknown state in BCC/CA?

  I was able to get the project in the State of the author as follows:

  -remove the locks on the project. If any

  delete from avm_asset_lock where workspace_id =

  (select id of avm_devline, whose name =

  (select Workspace from epub_project where project = 'prj49001')) ;

  -change of State. For false and true editable control lock

  -locked to 0 and can be changed to 1

  Update epub_project

  the locked value = 0

  where project = "prj49001";

  Update epub_project

  editable value = 1

  where project = "prj49001";

  -change of State. For false and true editable control lock

  -locked to 0 and can be changed to 1

  Update avm_workspace

  the locked value = 0

  where ws_id =

  (select id of avm_devline, whose name =

  (select Workspace from epub_project where project = 'prj49001')) ;

  Update avm_workspace

  editable value = 1

  where ws_id =

  (select id of avm_devline, whose name =

  (select Workspace from epub_project where project = 'prj49001')) ;

  -Finally change author who is 3 for all workflows

  Update epub_ind_workflow

  set status = 3

  where ID_processus =

  (select ID_processus from epub_process where of the project = "prj49001");

  commit;

  Below invalidate caches of repository

  / atg/epub/PublishingRepository /.

  / atg/epub/version/VersionManagerRepository /.

• deploy the assets/price without BCC list

  Is there a way to deploy assets to catalog a and b of production without deploying first of all on the ICC? I want to bypass the BCC to deploy price list. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this type? The price list are also versioned? in the scheme of pub I see dcs_price and dcs_price_list have associated columns with version however.

  I think you can set up automatic deployment here.

  Check the > \Publishing\base\sample-code\ca-import-sample-code.jar file. This gives an idea about how you can set up automatic deployment.

  It contains some examples of workflow to import, classes to create projects program and the required properties files. You can reuse it and create the Scheduler to start the automatic deployment according to your needs
