Performance problem when inserting in an indexed table space with JDBC

We have a table named 'feature' that has a "sdo_geometry" column, and we created the spatial index on this column,

CREATE TABLE (ID, desc varchar, sdo_gemotry oshape) feature

CREATE INDEX feature_sp_idx ON feature (oshape) INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS. SPATIAL_INDEX;

Then we executed following SQL to insert some 800 records in this table (we tried this using the DB Viewer and)
our Java application, both of them were using JDBC driver to connect to the database oracle 11 g 2).

insert into feature (id, desc, oshape) values (1001, xxx, xxxxx);
insert into a values (id, desc, oshape) feature (1002, xxx, xxxxx);
...........................
insert into a values (id, desc, oshape) feature (1800, xxx, xxxxx);


We met the same problem as this topic
Performance of the insert with spatial index
It takes almost 1 dry for inserting a record, compared with 50 records inserted per second without spatial index.
which is 50 x slow performance when you perform the insertion with the spatial index.

However, when we copy and paste these scripts inserted in Oracle Client(same test and same table with spatial index), we got a completely different performance results:
more than 50 records inserted in 1 seconds, as fast as the insertion without having to build the spatial index.

Is it because that the Oracle Client not using JDBC? Perhaps JDBC has been something bad when updating of these tables indexed on the space.

JDBC normally use autocommit. So each insert can leads to a commit.
I know not all customer Oracle. In sqlplus, insert is just an insert,
and you run "commit" to commit your changes explicitly.
So maybe that's the reason.

    One of my clients has a performance problem when a direct IO option is selected. Reports that there was increase in the memory usage of storage Direct to e/s is selected compared to the option of buffering of i/o.

    There are two applications on the server of type OSB. When using IO buffer warnings, has experienced a high level of read and write I / O direct i/o reduced the read and write I / O, but greatly increases the memory usage.

    (a) Details of the environment

    HSS - 9.3.1.0.45, AA - 9.3.1.0.0.135, Essbase - 9.3.1.2.00 (64-bit)
    OS: Microsoft Windows x 64 (64-bit) 2003 R2

    (b) what is the use of memory when it is buffered for i/o and direct i/o is used? What running of calculations, restructuring of the database and the database queries? These processes take a lot of time for execution?

    Application 1: 700 MB buffered, 5 GB live
    Application 2: Buffering 600 MB to 1.5 GB, 2 GB Direct
    Calculation time can increase from 15 minutes to 4 hours. Even with the restructuring.


    (c) what is the current database cache; Cache data files and cache Index values?

    Application 1: Buffering (index 80 MB, 400 MB of data), Direct (Index 120Mo;) 4 GB data file, given 480 MB).
    Application 2: Buffering (index 100MB, 300 MB of data), Direct (Index of 700 MB, 1.5 GB, 300 MB of data from data file)


    (d) what is the total size of the files ess0000x.pag and ess0000x.ind files?

    Application 1: Page 20 GB, 1.7 GB of the Index file.
    Application 2: Page 3 GB, index of 700 MB.

    Any suggestions on how to improve performance when direct i/o is enabled? All performance records in above scenario would be a great help.

    I use the following statement to insert values into a table:

    whence table_name the following statement

    as I created a configuration file for all parameters that can change. The value of the table in the audit using a print command is correctly, but when put in the query above to run the insert statement gives an error.     Concerning

    Print the SQL string that you establish, cut and paste it this output in SQL * more and see if it runs. This may show you that you should remove the single quotes around the name of the table %s in the Python file.

  • Error when inserting rows into a table

    Hello

    We have recently migrated to 9i and 10g. We have a scheduled task on our database who first removes all rows from a table and then inserts them back by selecting the lines of 5 tables. This table has a composite primary key based on 6 columns in it. In 9i, when I try to insert rows in the table after you remove all of the lines, I am able to insert the data successfully. However, in 10g, when I try to do the same operation, it fails with error ORA:

    ORA-00001: unique constraint violated

    The same query that works perfectly in 9i fails in 10g

    If anyone has some ideas on how to solve the same, kindly let me know.

    I don't know where you got the impression that I said that the DOM would be better. It will be definitely worse. The only advantage of the evaluation of DOM based (or functional) is that it can handle a much wider range of XQuery and XPath expressions. However there is nothing in what I saw in your examples the SQL execution path is not be be able to manage the only way you get the performance you need is to get the work of path of execution of SQL. To get the job of re - write, you will need to avoid wildcards and get the fix for the bug.

    I hate to disappoint you, but your XML schema is actually quite simple, it is certainly not in a class, that I would not complex, for recording results in a hierarchical structure very simple, unique, with 42 nested tables, if you want to see an example of something I would consider as complex search the Web for the FpML or NIEM schemas , recording these patterns result in recursive structures with multiple nested tables 1000!

    I see nothing in your XML schema that would make the use of wildcard characters required (with the exception of running in this bug). For tasks and Instance/tasks / * are identical in your use case as a tasks element can contain one or more elements of task, not do I see anything that would make me think that some how transform XML CSV would make it easier to load.

    My number 1 recommendation is to apply the 10.2.0.4.0 patch or upgrade to GR 11, 1 material. According to your deadlines, you can also consider 11 GR 2 beta.

    For example, a CSV file with 12000 documents and 40 columns takes 40 minutes to load (while a recording of CSV 2000 file takes 2 minutes to load).

    For large external files, copy us our CSV files to the Oracle server and then make reference to the file in an Oracle external table. Once the external table defined you then load your APEX table via a stored procedure by using:

    INSERT INTO your_tbl (columns)
    SELECT (columns)
    Of external_tbl

    Hope that gives you another option to consider.

  • Facing the issue when inserting data by region table

    I have a region of the table which will be created initially five rows and im generating a sequence so that five lines simultaneously. First insertion was smooth without any issue.when I train for the second time, loading the page while it shows 10 records and then the third time, she displays 20 records in the table.     The logic is simple.

    When the page initially loads, it brings 5 lines in your outer join function, then your code create another 5 rows based on the fetchedRowCount which is 5. All together, it makes 10.

    Second time when the page loads, the query returns (5 + 5) 10 rows and your code create another 10 rows based on the fetchedRowCount which is 10 this time. All together, it makes 20.

    It is clear now?

    The LEAVE is a reserved word in MySQL. You can try to quote, but you are better to rename it.

  • problem when inserting record empty.

    Dear all,

    I have following taskflow structure

    run (master)
    CreateInsert (retail)
    pagefragment

    the fragment of my page has 1 master record... 1 detail record. (which would be an empty except pk and fk generated from viewlink)

    When the user registers (validation action click on) the master save... but the child doesnot saves
    empty what I noticed, is that when I go into any field in af:table (detail) it allows to save... but I want to insert the record in the database.

    Any ideas... ?

    This is considered normal behavior. Read ' 27.4.5 what you need to know to create and CreateInsert' http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16182/web_tables_forms.htm#CHDEJAGC that explains exactly that.

  • Problem in inserting records into a table (MS Access) where the name of the column against

    I have a table with the name of column say first #Name and when I insert a value in the table it gives an error and it does not let me insert some values which he... Is it possible to enter the value in this column by fleeing this hash. I have a constraint that I can not change the name of the column...

    If it was Oracle you would put quotes around the name of the column. Not sure if happens the same for MS Access, because I do not play with the toy databases.

    I have an xml that has been posted wrt a DTD.
    The dtd is included in the first line of the xml file.
    What is the tyrying to insert the xml code in the database, that the exception has occurred

    type of the column used is XMLType.
    Using oracle 10.2.
