Permissions of the user

Hello

I made some changes on the security clearance of my 'C' drive when I saw called 'unknown user' user name in the user list. After that, I can't run some programs, services and install programs. Please help me to reset the permissions of the user by default.

I don't think that there is a way to restore the default values on your drive C:\ permissions...

  • Permissions for the users of Thunderbird

    Dear staff of Thunderbird,

I have a question to limit the permissions of the users in Thunderbird.
I want to set permissions on the installation of Thunderbird extensions (add-on), users could not install no matter what extension (add-on).
Is this possible, if so how to configure?

Think a little out of box... I guess people have their own computer / user account.

Thunderbird would need to have been already installed, but I think you could change the privileges and prevents the user from any other software installation/download.

    Such as:

  • Shell ESX or MS Powershell script to add permissions to the user host account

I have this command "Add a user" ESX 3.5 service console...

You know the command to give this user 'Read only' "permissions" of the "ESX Server"?

The attachment shows where the permissions of the user (in this case Akorri) have been added to the GUI of the VIC connected to the ESX host.

Even better... You have a PowerShell Script to add users and permissions?

    Hello

You must use a shell script to modify the etc/vmware/hostd/authorization.xml file. I have yet to see a powershell script that can make these changes for you, but you could check in PowerGUI.

  • You cannot change the permissions of the user

    Hi guys,.

I have a MacBook Air, which started with the 10.11.4 2014 loading screen and would be turned off once the progress bar moves to halfway.

I ran MRI what diagnosis came thin and storage said it was a software error.

I removed the SSD drive and placed in a basket so I can see the SSD on my iMac. He goes (to the Mac OS Extended format) and I can see the folder of the user, but under "Sharing and permissions", she says that I can read only. In most cases I would be directly click on the padlock on the bottom right, change the privileges and choose "apply to included items", but it is all grayed out.

I ran and fixed the permissions through terminal (since I can do is no longer on the disk utility). No idea how to get around this problem? There are files on the SSD drive which unfortunately were not backed up.

Note: I also tried to run BatChmod but it has not fixed either.

    Any ideas?

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • Permissions of the user - administrative permissions

As it goes with all Microsoft products, I was an alternative to get away the illogical people at Microsoft.  In this case, their insatiable desire for everything do so difficult and unstable that when a problem occurs, there is no answer or solution.  I lost from one day to the next my permission on a computer on which I built using Vista Ultimate and it basically makes your computer of all the unusable data now or in the future.  As with most Microsoft problems their illogical security permissions and the absence of instructions on how to set permissions for a single computer at home are par for the course.

  • Creating table in the schema has with the user B and granting permissions to the user C

Hello, I have a problem fun - we have a large table which requires a batch to make millions of updates, and he needs to finish more quickly. It takes several hours as an update, but a select create table did the same thing in about a minute. Yay! Then we just delete the old table and rename the new table to the former, rebuild all the index and grant select/insert/update/delete permissions to another user who needs access... and there is the problem, Oracle said insufficient privs.

We have A figure, which is the owner of the table, userid B who done all the stuff of application batch and userid C which performs inserts for a process of middleware. None of them are actual users, of course. We want that user B to do the ETG, rename, rebuild and re-grant of the authorisation of the index. But user B apparently cannot grant permissions on objects in the schema A to user C, even if B has created the table and has the role DBA (not ideal, I know)!

What's really crazy is that there is no sense unique user b can grant permissions to user C, which is to:

    grant select any table USER c;
    grant insert any table USER c;
    grant update any table USER c;
    Grant delete any table USER c;

It seems really perverse can create tables in diagram A and even grant C privs "whole table" that user B, but may not grant privs specifically on this object in the schema A, even with DBA privs. I must be missing something... right?

Yes. By default, the stored procedures are stored procedures from DEFINER rights. If A is the owner of a stored procedure, this stored procedure can do whatever A enjoys the privileges to directly. If A grants B privileges RUN this stored procedure, when B calls the stored procedure, the procedure runs with the privileges.

I agree point stew, however, re-creating objects in Oracle is generally a bad idea and a TRUNCATE with one insert direct-path, possibly combined with the deactivation and the rebuilding of the index would be more appropriate than a DEC. If you're going to stick with this Assignment, however, that really do in a stored procedure owned by A while B has no need to CREATE ANY TABLE.

  • Groups and permissions of the user is added to the local disk post-conversion?

We currently have a security policy with our Windows servers requiring admins to remove unnecessary security groups and users on the local disks. Basically, the SYSTEM and administrators retain full control, but all other users and groups are deleted for security reasons. We find that during a P2V conversion/clone servers, security groups and users are added to the readers of these new virtual machines (see screenshots below):

Security before and after conversion. Could this be a function of the sysprep post-conversion tasks that work?

Until now, we thought that, apart from the usual physical changes inherent to a clone, security remains unchanged. We follow best practices for conversion of these machines (running this as a local administrator account, run this converter installed on the machine, by stopping services as much as possible and so on).

    http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/6174/pre-permissions.pnghttp://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/6181/post-permissions.png

You can compare it to a system where you don't resize volumes, but all other factors are the same?

If you reduce the size of a hard disk volume during the conversion, it will make a copy of file by file from the source to the destination devices.  We may have to add permissions for the conversion process, but I don't know if it is real.

If you maintain or increase the size of the hard drive, it is a clone of block level which should be a bit-by-bit copy the source system.

  • How can I check if a user belongs to a certain group of field and see what are the permissions that the user has on a specific group "administrator, user and guest"?

I can't check in a group of area if a user is "administrator, user and guest.

I'm using labview 2012 in the windows domain.

I think that there are tools. NET to resolve this, but could not yet.

Attached a file that checks if a user belongs to a group in the area, but without the information of privileges.

In the past, I used the command line.  Use ' Net User % username / Domain % domain % ' to get information about the user.  Actually, I don't have the right to see the other commands, so I don't know how it works now.  .NET looks more elegant, but I never used it for that.

  • How to take the permissions of the user account for my external backup hard drive, incase of my computer crashed?

Original title: backup of user account permissions?

    Hello

I put permissions to my external hard drive so that it is accessible only by my account. For everyone, access is denied. I want to save permissions, in case my computer breaks down. How can I do this?

I have only set permissions, not encrypted the files on the disk.

    Hello

I will certainly help the question of fixing.

Taking backup of permissions is not possible from your computer to an external hard drive. However, you can set a password for your external hard drive, so that you can access it from any computer that has administrative privileges by entering the password.

  • List of the permissions of the user

    Hey everybody,

Is it possible to see a list of users, indicating who has access to what, etc. in OBIEE 11 g. ? Something like the report of the Permission of the administration tool (although that as far as I know, this only shows the columns of a presentation layer, not reports).

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards

    C.

    Hi Cihan,

It's an interesting question regarding permissions. I open the Catalog Manager with weblogic user on the BI server offline and are not error.

The ACL (Access Control List) will show users/groups with specified in Catalog Manager. The screenshot below shows the values of the ACL for the columns of a report in an environment of vanilla (with sample Apps Lite data).

    http://i45.Tinypic.com/21b7na0.PNG

If I go in presentation services and in the web version of the Catalog Manager, I can see the permissions: -.

    http://i45.Tinypic.com/2ykmddc.PNG

If I add a permission to a user groups / roles/catalog named application is what is stored in the ACL. I added the "weblogic" username to the list of permissions, this change can be seen in the report:-

    http://i47.Tinypic.com/qnwlfo.PNG

It is generally not a good idea to share content at the level of the named user, usually added a huge management overhead.

Catalog Manager reports do not cascade on users within groups, you'll need to extract the members of the group separately and to search for them (for example in Excel).

Please check all the comments that have been helpful / provided the correct answer.
