  Just installed Facebook 1.5 on my Curve 8900 and I am trying to manually link some FB friends to the contacts of BB.  Whenever I do this it sends a request to the FaceBook friend's phone number when it connects to them.  Does anyone know of a way I can turn this option off?  I want to just connect, not request a phone number, otherwise I would have chosen the option "request phone!

  So my ID Apple was recently hacked and had to change my password on all my devices (iPhone 6 and mini iPad). But now that I changed, my iMessage works well for my iPhone, but on my iPad, I have no option to choose my phone number. I tried to reset iMessage, reset my iPad, everything. The problem seems to be that the device is connected to my iPhone 6s and they share the same Apple ID. When I look at my card in contacts (completely at the top) it shows my details including my phone number iPhone.

  The number associated with the iPad and cell phones is just an account number to the cellular provider to use to charge you. This number is not used for anything else, such as iMessages or SMS. What exactly you are trying to do, so it can be treated better?

• IMessage is not recognizing my phone number

  I have message does not recognize my phone number. Therefore, it is send and receive of my Apple which is my e-mail ID. This is why I don't get texts by cell means. I can't seem to add a phone number to my account so that Imessage can check and use it. There is no telephone number listed for select in send it / receive email addresses... only options.

  I consulted my Apple ID on Apple's site, and here again it shows only my email addresses, and phone number. So I can't "Handle" account and select or add the phone number.

  So imessage is constantly "in waiting for Activation and I cannot receive any cell texts." Ive tried all reboot areas / time / flight mode / reset network connections... everything that was suggested short of a factory reset full... However I think that is just the phone to recognize the number?

  When I first set up my ID apple years I didn't have an ipod Touch... obviously, no results here. But now I have an iphone 5 s and its not picking up the number in imessage... It could be related?

  The new Page of Apple ID is no longer you allows you to edit a "reachable to the ' phone number.  The 'x' icon does not exist to be reached at the phone number.

  The phone number listed on my apple ID is incorrect and a phone from 2 years ago.

  I checked the number shows correctly on my IOS devices, all my OS X devices (iTunes account etc.) and the imessages and factetime.  I logged on all accounts on all devices (including the facetime and imessages) and reconnected but - Boulard... phone number of apple is ALWAYS incorrect and immutable to appleid.apple.com.  The phone number correctly absolutely everywhere else - shows info billiong, itunes, etc.

  I logged a request for assistance to the Apple and the technical support told me that she is seeing the same thing - so - there is a bug any on the new web page Apple ID.

  Anyone else encounter this problem is strongly encouraged to call Apple Support and connect the bug as well - you can check that your phone number IS correct on the web page of Appleid.Apple.com - FYI.

  If you are wanting to add your phone number to Apple ID, follow these steps:

  Connect to iMessage:

  1. Tap Settings > Messages > send & receive.
  2. Click on use your Apple ID for iMessage. Then sign in with your Apple ID. Use the same Apple ID as your iPhone.
  3. Select the phone number and e-mail addresses that you want to join.
