Photo date a7

Hello

How to display the 'date' on the photo?

THX

This is not possible if the images are copied directly from the camera. You will need to edit the photo to a computer in order to include the time stamp, or you can ask your photo printing service to include the date and time when you have your printed photos.

  • How can I keep the original photo date if I have a copy in another file (for example: a desktop file)?

I have created a new folder on my desktop and you want to add photos copied (from the photo app) of a date range. I would like that they in chronological order. When I copy and paste those pictures, they are all "update" to today's date and does not use the information 'date taken '. Any help is appreciated thanks

Easy - just export and display in a program that includes photos - dates are incorporated into the photos in the EXIF and IPTC data

Maybe you look at the dates of the files which are only linked to the record and have nothing to do with the picture somehow

  • Photo date change during transfer to external hard drive from the "Photos" application

    Hello

When I try to transfer the images to my request for 'Photo' on my Macbook (OS X Yosemite) to a hard drive external, the dates and times of the images change.

I would like to transfer only some of my images on the hard drive, so I can't make time machine.

Is it possible to keep the dates and hours of original photos when copying them?

Thank you very much for your help!

Select the photos and export (menu, file == > export)-this will include the Photo with date and time metadata in EXIF/IPTC fields for use by any porgram Photo (you can check this by using Preview)-as you create new files file metadata will obviously be new but we can't change the photo metadata

  • Windows Media Center photo date AND time

Is it possible to have Windows Media Center to deliver photos in Date AND time order.  I have several photos taken at a given date in my folder, but WMC puts in the random time sequence in a date.  My Pictures folder is in date and time order

    Hi gingerandbuddy,

Follow the steps below to organize photos in media center in groups.
You can only group by alphabetical order and date wise, but you can also add the tag for photos that would make it easier to find photos.

    1. on the Start screen, navigate to pictures + videos, and then click picture library.
    2. click on Folders to sort your files and folders in alphabetical order, click date taken to sort your folders and files by date or click tags to sort your files by tags that have been applied. (To learn more about labels and how to use them, see tag pictures so they are easier to find.)

  • Location of the xmp for jpg photo data

    Scenario:

Edit a jpg photo in LR (let's call it photoname.jpg) - add cropping etc. Tell lightroom to "write metadata in the file" (CTRL-S in XP).

I do not see the .xmp associated in windows Explorer file... However, to bridge and "Edit in ACR" - the culture settings made in LR are used - which means that the .xmp is SOMEWHERE

I checked, and my hidden files is selected in windows Explorer. I did a search on my hard drive for "photoname.xmp" and even "photoname.*". Anything other than the original watch.

    Question:

Where exactly is this .xmp sidecar file stored for this jpg photo when I tell LR to "write metadata to the file?

    Thank you.

    > Where exactly is this .xmp sidecar file stored for this jpg photo when I tell LR to "write metadata to the file?

Inside of the file. RAWs only using a sidecar, TIFF, JPEG, and DNG have xmp data embedded in the file.

If you get an error message when you type the @ at the beginning of the field symbol, type an apostrophe (') before the symbol @ (such as ' @Photos) to validate the service. Reserve of some applications, such as Microsoft Excel, the symbol for functions @.

  • To access the photos in the folder date

After I imported and exported, photos date format, and then move to another date folder, no access to photos of a previous date file.

Do I need to close the currently open date file before accessing an older date file?  The photos in the previous file are low and cannot be re-imported.

When you say "date folder ' is sounds like you mean"record date. "

When you perform an import, image files are placed in a folder called usually for the date. They are also referenced in the system collection named "Previous import" at the top of the navigation pane. Whenever you perform an import again, the content of the "previous import" is updated with the new import, as its name suggests.

More low in the left navigation pane is the Panel of the files where you will find all of the dated folders. If this folder tree does not resemble the tree Finder or Explorer shows you, right-click on one of the folders and select "Show the parent". (Repeat if necessary).

  • PC cannot 'see' photos on old iPod

Try to move pictures on my old iPod 80 GB on my Win7 PC. Even in Disk Mode, no program will 'see' them although they are clearly visible on the iPod. I don't want to lose them. Tried iTunes, Win Exp, Dropbox, etc.. They see only 4 ithmbs where I tried to convert inches awhile back with a Ultra file opener. Don't remember how or why I did it now... Someone said it with the right button under 'computer' on the iPod and select "Explorer" to join the hidden files, but this option presents itself. Help!

There is a setting (a check box) on the settings screen of Photos from iPod in iTunes, for include photos full resolution.  IF this parameter is enabled WHEN sync you photos to iPod, iTunes makes a copy of the image file on the iPod photo original.  These photo image files can be retrieved using your computer's file manager, allowing the use of the disk on the iPod and search in the folder of Photos .

If this setting is not enabled, iTunes optimizes pictures to adapt small screen of the iPod (and minimize storage used on iPod) during synchronization.  Photo data are stored in a special database (not as a separate image files).  You cannot use a file manager to access the separate image files.  You need to get your photos from the original files (on your computer) that you sync to the iPod, or a backup.

There may be some third-party utilities that can extract pictures from the iPod.  However, these photos are probably low resolution compared to the original images, because iTunes convert and sync for display on the small screen of the iPod.

  • Photos downloaded from iCloud are wrong to timestamp

Recently, I put my iPhone to "Optimize storage" so that my photos are all housed in iCloud. I always liked keep a backup of my photos on my Mac library. The problem is that when I download pictures from iCloud Photos, all files have a creation date of the day of the download instead of the day, that the photo was taken in fact!

I searched online and read the suggestions in the "export Original", but I think it's the old Photos? Right now, all I see on iCloud.com > Photos is a download top-right button.

iCloud is displayed the photos with all the dates on the right. But it came out on my Mac, all the details are missing... Really disappointed because I don't want to have to manually date everything. There must be a solution?

  • Organization of photo library

    Hello

I am in the process by putting my main workstation to Windows to Mac. I have a pretty big photo archive (110 GB), that I always organized in the folders as I want - year, photo taken months and I use Bridge and Photoshop for editing (cloud Creative). I really _want_ to take photos but I understand Photos on import organizes all the pictures of the Photoslibrary in folders by date imported. That makes me hesitate. I don't understand. Have tried Googling and Youtubing, but cannot decide what to do. My biggest concern is that if I want to return to using Bridge and Photoshop as my main workflow I'd on the photos in Finder folders organized by photographing year/month - is it possible to export all the photos in the photo library in Finder folders organized by photo date taken?

Of course, another option is to use the photos without copy photos in the photo library. Is this a bad alternative? Is there any feature that I miss with the option?

Help a total newbie on Mac out. I'm so confused.

Pictures displays your photo library in two different views:

    1. The sight of Photos show you the photos organized by "Moments." A Moment is a group of photos taken on the same day in the same place.  The times appear firstly by capture date, oldest chronlogically.  You can change the display of the Moments to a view of collections or year for large groups of photos.  Collections are grouping related moments, so you will find pictures of holidays in a collection. The title of the collections and the moments will show catpture date and location, if your photos are tagged with GPS. I mainly use this view to access my photos to the capture date.  Collections and the 'Moments', years are saving me a lot of work, since the consolidation is carried out fully automatically.  I don't have to create folders named by date ranges and places on my own.
    2. The photos in the album 'Pictures' is sort by the date you imported, so that you can easily access the most recent import.

And Yes, you can export your photos in folders named by date.  Among the export options is the subfolder option "name of the Moment."

The Masters folder inside the photo library contains the original images, if you copy photos in the library, but it is not intended as a means to access pictures.  Always use the GUI of photos recover photos and pass them to external publishers.  To edit a photo in photoshop, you open the photo in edit mode and run the extension of "External editors" photo editing and select Photoshop as editor.

Of course, another option is to use the photos without copy photos in the photo library. Is this a bad alternative? Is there any feature that I miss with the option?

Photos will work this way, but you cannot use iCloud photo library.

Also, this is not well supported to use the pictures in this way.  Photos has no tools to reconnect the pictures referenced quickly, if you must move the photos to another drive. or if you restore a backup photos, because the leaning reader operation.  You will have a lot of work, if you need to replace your drive with the library or move it to a new computer.  So I can't really recommend.  If you want to manage your photos from the Finder, do not use the Photos for Mac application.

I prefer to have mage Photos my photos, because it is easy to create albums of the purpose FRO specific to search for photos: the date of capture one titles and legends, the names of the people in the photos, the name of the scene.

But it is to you, how you want to organize your Photos.  You can use a Mac without the help of pictures.

If you like Adobe software, why not use Lightroom?  It supports the referenced pictures and integrates well with Photoshop.

  • Smart album, creating criteria of dates wrong

Created smart album criteria evil in Danish local range - it uses silently JJ/MM/AAAA while displaying the DD/MM/YYYY.

In the Danish version of Photos, dates are displayed JJ/MM/AAAA (photos) which is correct. When you create a new smart album with a date range of, say, 12/01/2014 to 01/01/2015 I spend January 1, 2015, obviously erroneous, 12 January 2014.

Thus, the error is that dates are displayed correct for the locale, but the entrance to the date range in the creation of the smart album is in the order of US.

    How to fix this?

FYI: I am reposting this question who hails from 2015 because there is no immediate solution.

Try to use two separate rules:

    All the

    Date is later than

    and

    The date is before

    For the date range.
