  The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner.   If your photo library is migrated from iPHoto then you will need to remove them in iPhoto too - or if you are sure you are finished with the iPHoto library archive yoru iPHoto and delete and empty the trash

  Check if you have some deleted photos left by a bug that prevented some deleted items of aging out:

  1. go in settings > general > Date & time, turn off automatically game and change the date to 9/1/3013

  2. go to the Photos App and see if you see a folder deleted recently - if so, click on it to see if there are pictures here and if so, select all and delete them permanently

  3. go to settings > general > Date & time, put the value automatically come back on

  iCloud has been "playing" with my photo albums, some albums have disappeared as have some pictures.

  All started because I have iCloud enabled in all my devices. Somehow whenever I connect my iPhone or iPad for Photos of the computer continues to display the images that are on my devices, but not on my computer, I tried to manually import but they keep "showing" and which they occupy a considerable amount of storage on my iPad and iPhone, up to 12 GB.

  Go to iCloud.com/Photos using a computer. Click to select the Photos, select the first, then with the SHIFT key, select the last one. Then click on the Recycle Bin.

  When organizing photos for Photos for Mac app, I find that the Photos makes "copies" of files within the library of Photos and must reference a file if your settings are such that you do not copy the original files in the Photos app.

  The delete after import is available only when you import a device - a camera, card, an iPhone, but not when you import files from a folder on the system drive.

  You can delete the local image files of your system drive yourself, once you have imported the Photos and they were copied in the photo library.

  I would never use the option "delete after Import. The files will be deleted until you can check if the files have been imported correctly. If you find out later, that some of the imported files are corupted and illegible, it will be repeated o toolate import, because the files have been deleted from the device.   You can sop it opens automatically - so that a camera is connected in Photos, clear the check box to the right of the unit that says opening the Photos when the camera is connected
