Photo viewer wil not open TIFF files

How can I determine if the photo viewer is updated to the latest version. It does not open the TIFF files and gives and error. There is not on option that provides version information

"windows Photo Viewer cannot open this picture because viewer of photos does not support this file format or you do not have the latest updates to the Photo Viewer"

The TIFF file opens fine in the program that created it, so I guess he is not corrupt.

No.... A TIFF image is not that a TIFF image is not a TIFF file...

TIFF can't be altered, but it could
be problems of compatibility with the Sony algorithm.

Save it again. This will create a TIFF in IrfanView...
a new version of the file which should open in
any program.

Enjoying a beautiful photo in IrfanView... go...

File / save as...

Choose a backup file...

Enter a name...

Choose... TIFF...

On the left, click on the "Save" button.

FWIW IrfanView can convert the. ARW files to a
different format in a batch very quickly:

I wrote the following tutorial for Canon CR2 files, but
It will work for your Sony files as well.

IrfanView and the plugins are downloaded and
installed... open and go to...

(FWIW... this task is easier to do than to explain)

File / Batch Conversion-rename

On the screen of batch conversion... Tick... Batch conversion...

TO... Output format... Choose... "JPG - Format JPG/JPEG...
(if you have a lot of hard disk space and prefer TIFF...
What to choose)

TO... Output directory... Choose the folder you want to
JPG files in... (If you want the converted files in the)
current folder... on the left simply click on use current' [' look in ']
Directory")

In the field "search in"... Navigate to the folder your. CR2
the files are saved in... When the CR2 files appear in the
upper field... on the left, click on the button "add all"...

When the CR2 photos appear in the lower left field
Click on the... Batch start button...

Once the conversion is completed... left click the ' exit
Batch "button.

Close IrfanView and you're done...

  • Photo Gallery does not open some files (pictures) that he used. He said: it is not "supported."

Photo Gallery does not open some files that it used.  He said that its not "supported"?  In addition, I can't open some of the files that are in that I think an older version of word.  How can I fix these problems?  There is no window that opens for updates when opening Photo Gallery.

Well, you don't say what files it used to open then try this. Control Panel, programs, by default, set your default progaams, Windows Photo Gallery, set this program as default.

  • Windows Photo Viewer cannot open this photo because either way, Photo Viewer does not support this file format, either you do not have the latest updates to Photo Viewer

New PC with Windows 7.  Photos taken before the new PC either cannot be a spectator, or can be displayed but are in the right folder with the incorrect file names (e.g. cat photo is labeled as DOG)

In my case, when I plugged in my phone on my desk, it prompted me to update the software to communicate better with my phone. Immediately after completing the update was when I lost the ability to open images in Photo Viewer.

To solve the problem, I went to control panel, and then uninstall a program and then uninstalled the newest program associated with my phone. It was easy since I knew exactly when he started to act up. Some of you may need some trial and error to find the problem.

  • Newly re-charge 10 items wil not open RAW files

5 months ago, I bought 10 items. It worked, but would often leave everything simply. All the time that I was about to return, he started to work very well. Yesterday, I received a message that something in the elements was corrupted, and I had to uninstall and reinstall. Yes, I did. Now I get the message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this file type" when trying to open RAW photos. I downloaded update to Camera Raw 6.5 to 10 items, hoping it would help. He did not. I then installed update to Camera Raw 6.6 to 10 items. Still no luck.

The last update for the EP 10 regarding camera raw is 6.7.

If I'm not mistaken with help > updates should work from the editor of PES 10.

What camera files are camera raw of?

I am running Windows 7 since 12/2010 and have been using office 2007.  06/05/12, I installed office 2010.  Since that time the new excel will not open .xlsx files in Explorer by double clicking on the file name... Excel 2007 does that very well.  Instead of excel opens, Manager of photo is trying to open up.  I tried to change the default program assignments, but the only options are Office 2010, Microsoft Works Spreadsheet and Microsoft Open XML converter.  No does the job and as I mentoned, if I take of Office 2010, it tries to open Picture Manager who can not read the file.  There is no good Excel option to the association of .xls, it shows Excel as the deafult.

It was livable, until people began to send me .xlsx files attached to an email and he's trying to open them as pcitures.

Try to edit the file in this way association

    In Windows 7:

    3. click the Browse button and navigate to Excel [example: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Office\Office14\excel.exe]

  • Photo Gallery Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery will not open

Windows Photo Gallery does not open. This happened after trying to import images. Photo Gallery does not recognize the old photos so it would import duplicates, so I kept cancelling the process. Now it does not open. The blue circle goes as it will open up and then nothing happens. I downloaded Windows Live Photo Gallery, and it opens either. I have Windows Vista Home Premium version 6. On rare occasions, the gallery will open. What can I do? I read in this forum to rename the file, but it does not work. I did a system restore and that doesn't work anymore. Someone knows what can be done?

  • By pressing 'o' in review mini bridge mode is not opening the file in Photoshop

New user of Photoshop here and going through the basics.

When you use the view Mode in mini bridge I can scroll the images using the right/left arrows open the head image in Camera Raw using the 'R' key, and pressing on the 'o' key does not open the file in Photoshop, I knew that it was supposed to. Am I missing something obvious?  By pressing the 'o' key doesn't do anything.

With the help of Photoshop CS6.

    Thanks for the tips!

    Gene,

    Unfortunately, this did not turn.

I have exactly the same problem on two systems, two Windows 7 based charge installs CS6 and Lightroom 4.

Spent a good support of 45 minutes on the phone with Adobe and they are scratching their heads as well.  Now it seems that the revision in mini bridge would be a great way to open the files that you want to use, but in reality it does not work.  The tech that I do business with Adobe is to have exactly the same problem as well.

Not quite ready for prime time...
