Photos does not drive

I have windows vist on acer laptop. When you listen to a photo disc it takes a lot of time for all the icons to open and some are either full or part gray. There is not a problem with the disc such that it opens correctly on another computer. Any ideas?

Hi Annie 123.

1. This only happens with the photo disc or all?

I suggest you try the fix it from the link given below and check if it helps.

  • Photos does not work in El Capitan

I recently replaced with El Capitan Yosemite on my Mac Mini last 2014. Everything worked well after the original download, including Photos. Then I closed the computer and went to bed. When I started again this morning, the system does not start, and I had to use recovery mode to reinstall El Capitan. 13 hours later (for some reason that the software took so long to download) the system works again - but not photos. Unlike other Photos post-EC problems, I get no message, just a bar with almost all the options greyed out. One of the few non-grisé options is under the tab 'windows', where, by selecting 'Photos', I get a white box. And that's all. I tried to start clicking on both of my two libraries - nothing. I tried from Photos with the option key - touch nothing. I tried from Photos with maintained command - nothing. All my photos, apart from those of Photostream, stored locally; I have all my pictures on iCloud, and nor do I want to. I'm sure that they are all there, because the library of the main image shows 36 concerts and everything is backed up, but I don't know how to access. Any help much appreciated.

    All my photos, apart from those of Photostream, stored locally;

Where your photo library is stored? It's in your pictures folder, or on an external drive?

try to find out if the problem is system-wide or only happens in your user account.

Can you launch Photos, if you connect from a different user account, for example the guest user? (see this help page: isolate a problem by using another user account)

    • If Photos does not even from another user account, your relocation was unlikely.  Try to reinstall again with a stable network connection.
    • If pictures work well from another user account, delete the preference files in your Home folder.

Remove these items from your user library in your folder:

    • Delete complete files - if they are there-

      ~/Library/containers/com. Apple.photolibraryd /.
      ~ / Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/.

Log and turn it back on. The files will be recreated when you try to launch again the Photos. But don't try without a current backup of your system!

Your user library can still be hidden. To reveal the hidden user library:

    • Bring the Finder to the front by clicking on the desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock.
    • Select your folder user/home (with the House icon in the side bar of the Finder)
    • With this window in the Finder in the front window, press the ⌘J key combination to bring up the display options.
    • In the view options panel allow you to "show the library folder. That will make your visible user library folder in your folder.
    • Open your folder, then the library folder, then the containers.
    • Move the entire folder ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/ on your desktop. Move the entire folder, not just the content.
    • Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Photos.plist Similarly, if it exists.

Restart the mac, after you have deleted the items, then try opening your photo library and see if pictures will now launch properly.

  • in iMovie... Library of photos does not appear under libraries

Library of photos does not appear under libraries in iMovie. Is there earlier this morning, then came back, no past once again. Apparently I can't connect to

It is a problem that has been reported previously in iMovie 10.1.1. Photo library will be displayed intermittently when iMovie is launched. The only solution I know is to open the photos app before the launch of iMovie. That has always worked for me. It seems that if Photos is opened and closed even before iMovie will appear. Once it appears, it will remain as long as iMovie is open. I hope it works for you.

    Hello

Your Windows passes genuine validation? If your activation session has expired and that windows did not pass the validation, it will not show any visual effect such as background noise, themes etc. It will only show a black screen and at the bottom right of the screen you can see attention.

  • Photos does not recognize the Sony Handycam

Until yesterday, when I connected my VCR (Sony Exmor R) on my Mac, photo open and offer to import new clips. Now, he does not even recognize the device contains clips. (She sees it as an external hard drive but I can't get my picture).

    Hello noemiebill,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that your Sony camera is not recognized in the Photos for Mac.  I would like that you perform the steps below for assistance.  Even if the title of the article is for iPhoto, the same steps apply to Photos.

    1. Make sure that the camera is compatible with iPhoto.
    2. See the documentation for your camera to see if there are several modes that the camera can use to communicate with the computer via USB. Some devices have a mass storage mode, and some devices include an option to place the camera in mode photo-transfert-Protocol (PTP). Try each mode to see if the camera can be recognized by iPhoto.
    3. Make sure that iPhoto and Mac OS X versions are updated. Mac OS X updates include additional camera support.
    4. Turn on the camera and connect it to the computer. Check system information (in the Utilities folder) if the camera is shown as connected by USB.
    5. Open Capture of Image (in the Applications folder) and see if the camera is recognized in this application. If your camera is still not recognized by iPhoto, check if the camera has a removable storage card, such as a Compact Flash (CF) or Secure Digital (SD) card. If so, you may be able to mount this card and read files photo from the Finder, if you have a USB or FireWire card reader connected to your computer.

  • photos does not work

I have a 16 000 images large iPhoto library stored on my hard drive. When trying to convert to photos he stalls on 50% no matter how many times or days, I waited. I tried to repair the library, and when I do, I get to 8% with an error message that the library is not recognized. I can't open iPhoto more because I've updated to El Capitan, and he no longer recognizes iPhoto. So in short, I can't access my photos all and any effort to repair did not work. I also did a repair disk in recovery mode and it made no difference. Help, please

It's on an external drive? If so is what format?

If you change the suffix of file on the library of .photoslibrary of migratedphotslibrary you will be able to open with iPhoto.

    Option 1

Save and try to rebuild the library: press command and option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. The dialog that allows you to rebuild. Choose to repair the database. If this does not help, then try again, this time to help to rebuild the database.

    If this does not work:

    Option 2

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its function of reconstruction. (In early versions of the Library Manager, this is the file-> command Rebuild.) In versions later it is under the menu library.)

This will create a completely new library. It will then copy (or try) your photos and all associated metadata and versions to this library and as close as possible to what you had in the damaged library fix it. It does this based on the information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but it means that things not shared won't be there, so no slide shows, books or calendars, for example - but it should recover all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places.

Because this process creates a completely new library and does not change your old, it is non-destructive, and if you are not satisfied with the result, you can simply go back to your old.

  • deleting photos does not reduce library

Hello, I just bought iMac (10.11) and images imported from outside hard drive in Photos (1.1) app.

I knew I had a lot of duplicate photos or not desired I wanted to delete after procrastinating organize my photos.

I started by removing about 20MG of files and wanted to see the size of my library reduced in order to ensure that I am deleting the original file and not only a thumbnail and frees 20 mg.

However, the photo library file is not reduced after the removal of my 1st batch of test photos.  In the Photos, I navigate to preferences in the drop down Photos and then select 'Show in finder' next to the library.  The size of the library has not changed in the finder and it shows the last updated ago 7 hours when I imported last photo from my iPhone.

Is there a better way to ensure that remove photos and make sure the space is being released on my hard drive?

I have read several discussions on this subject and also uses not either iCloud for storing photos or a photo stream so I can isolate reducing photos on my hard drive.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions that I don't want to spend hours to clean my Photos without the expected results and thanks in advance.

We need the details - exactly what you have and what you were doing?

Assuming that you have the current software (OS X 10.11.2) and Photos 1.3 you access recently deleted album and remove it now? If you do not they will not be removed for 30 days

and if you migrated an iPhoto library, you must remove the same photos in it to get space in the back.

  • Photos does not detect iPhone

I've recently updated my 2010 MacBook Pro at El Capitan (10.11) and several problems with the forced migration in iPhoto for pictures.

Previously, I've kept my iPhoto on a HDD library external Western Digital. Yesterday, I threw some Photos while holding down the Option key and imported all my photos in the iPhoto library on disk external HARD in Photos.

Now I would like to import photos from my iPhone 5s in Photos. When I plug my phone into my laptop with a USB cable, however, nothing happens. Photos do not show my phone, still less the opportunity to import pictures of her. I tried a soft reboot of my iPhone, but that has not changed anything. I don't think I have iCloud sharing to set up Photos, nor what I want.

    Thanks much for any help.

    What size is the drive

Exactly what you were doing - launch while the option key is pressed does not matter or move whatever it is - it just gives you a window to select another library or start a new library is empty

  • Photos does not recognize one of my devices, please help.

None of my cameras, my iPhone, iPad and even an SD card into the slot are recognized as devices by Photos, iPhotos or Image Capture. Have you tried different USB ports, different cables, all software, firmware, etc. is up to date.  Image capture also does not recognize my scanner.  They all used to work fine, now, they do not.  I have a Mac mini end of 2014 with El Capitan version 10.11.4.  Believe, that was the last time everything worked fine before El Capitan.

Devices are not at all in applications or only applications simply cannot open, when you connect a device?

If the problem is, that the applications do not open, but the devices display, try this command in Terminal:

    • Photos of quit smoking and unplug any camera.
    • Open a Terminal and paste this command and press return:

default - currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug - bool NO

    • Restart the Mac. It is not necessary, but it worked for me after the reboot.

If the devices don't show at all, you may have installed system extensions that interfere.  Give it a try.  Restart your Mac in Mode without failure. Then, connect a camera or card.  Image Capture sees the devices safe?

If you simply want to watch as download you them from your camera, you can simply use the default built in app Preview. He opens them - that is what I use before deciding that one has need of some 'creative' changes or anything, and then drop them into my own folder of Photos (in my documents) that I created when I decided that I did not care to iPhoto or Photos.

  • Roll of photos does not save from camera

Since 30 December at 14:00 my wife's iphone is not save photos in camera roll. We tried the CAMERA and the CAMERA app + but without success. Seems to work, the photo is taken and after, a thumbnail image is indicated in the lower left corner. I can open the image, but all the options are greyed out (EDIT, SEND, TRASH). If I then go back to the CAMERA, the tile went.

It has about 550 MB of space the totall 16 GB.

    I can't take screenshots either.

We have killed all the apps and restart the phone once or twice (in both normal and hard reset). It took about 4500 images is not the problem of 9999.

We have automatic saving of images PHOTO of Google, there are no photos in the backup after 30 December. The latest 10 photos of GP has not been backed up upward. I can't make these images to be saved. He says only: "preparing backup".

We also have auto-saving of images to DROPBOX, but with the same result. the last 5-10images in camera cannot be backup up.

We do not use iCLOUD for backup images.

It took a lot of photos and images on the new year's Eve, so it would be great to find them, if they are saved.

Connection to a computer does not help. I can copy, but does remove all images of the DCIM folder.

    iPhone 4 with iOS 9.2

Make a backup a new computer, in which case there is a way to recover photos and films that took new year eve...

Fortunately, I had a backup from December 28. So I've erased everything in the iPhone, started as a NEW IPHONE and the camera worked fine. Has made a new CLEAR ALL, installed the backup from December 28. With the exception of SMS and the HISTORY of PHONE CALLS, we believe that everything was there.

We still have the images and photos...

  • Photos does not not in Oulook

    Hello and thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded ATT (reminds me of AOL technical support lately :)) LIS in U Verse. Before the upgrade, I could go to my photos, select images, then click on send this file. Outlook opens and I could send pictures. Now when I try to do, an ATT Web site page is trying to open and I can't send pictures. I have to open Outlook and tie. ATT said it is impossible that their settings for new modems etc nothing changed. They do not support Outlook and they refuse to help me. I have nothing to change my settings except click their guests to set up email. Suddenly, I got a new default in my email and when I tried to send Outlook however, I got a pop up saying that Outlook was not my default mail. It was until I loaded the new ATT software. It was easy enough to fix. I deleted the new information in Outlook, but that does not solve the issue. On my laptop, I was not asked to change the settings, and Outlook works fine with the number of the photo. Can you please tell me what I need to change?

    Thank you very much!
