Photos does not recognize the Sony Handycam

Until yesterday, when I connected my VCR (Sony Exmor R) on my Mac, photo open and offer to import new clips. Now, he does not even recognize the device contains clips. (She sees it as an external hard drive but I can't get my picture).

Hello noemiebill,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that your Sony camera is not recognized in the Photos for Mac.  I would like that you perform the steps below for assistance.  Even if the title of the article is for iPhoto, the same steps apply to Photos.

  1. Make sure that the camera is compatible with iPhoto.
  2. See the documentation for your camera to see if there are several modes that the camera can use to communicate with the computer via USB. Some devices have a mass storage mode, and some devices include an option to place the camera in mode photo-transfert-Protocol (PTP). Try each mode to see if the camera can be recognized by iPhoto.
  3. Make sure that iPhoto and Mac OS X versions are updated. Mac OS X updates include additional camera support.
  4. Turn on the camera and connect it to the computer. Check system information (in the Utilities folder) if the camera is shown as connected by USB.
  5. Open Capture of Image (in the Applications folder) and see if the camera is recognized in this application. If your camera is still not recognized by iPhoto, check if the camera has a removable storage card, such as a Compact Flash (CF) or Secure Digital (SD) card. If so, you may be able to mount this card and read files photo from the Finder, if you have a USB or FireWire card reader connected to your computer.

  • PC does not recognize the Sony Walkman when it is attached

In the past, I have downloaded podcasts on the website of the BBC, and then by clicking and dragging transferred files to the Walkman. For some time now, the PC won't recognize the Walkman when connected.

The USB cable and the Walkman unit are not damaged - both checked on my PC at work.

Norton anti virus downloaded a file at the same time of connection ceased, but which has been verified by one of its engineers to remove the software and put it back.

A Sony engineer suggested countless solutions that are proved to be unsuccessful, including resetting and reformatting of the Walkman, for nothing will do.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sony software and still no results.

I saw a message a couple of times that reads; Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. When I tried to click on it, I was unable to register. Does anyone know what should be my next move?

It seems to me that it is something PC based - it could be something to do with Media Player maybe... I don't know any more!

Previously, I had a Fujitsu Amilo PC operating Windows XP Professional. I had no problem with these 2 devices of connection. Now, I bought a Sony Vaio PC

Windows 7 Home Premium and it can not recognize my webcam. I bought a cable iLink (hama), but without success.

    What can I do, please?

    Hello

    Method 1.

Connect the device, run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check if that helps.

To open the Troubleshoot utility equipment follow the given link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

You can also check the updates available for your computer.

    Method 2.

    Install a USB device: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-a-USB-device

    Refer.

You need to contact Sony support to get the disc because it contains software of camcorder. You should also check the camcorder manual as it contains instructions to enable the USB setting in the camera for it to get detected in Windows 7 computer.

The KB article for the Sony camcorder is:

How can I convert .ai files in jpeg format?  It seems that I am only able to get the .ai files and my Adobe Photo Elements program does not recognize the file.

I want to continue my membership with Adobe, however, not if it requires some additional software purchase.

For .ai files, you will need to use or know someone who uses Illustrator or another program compatible .ai to convert. If you access a page of image details before license you can see the file type.

  • I just bought 6 of Lightroom. It does not recognize the RX10II sony raw files.

I just bought 6 of Lightroom. It does not recognize the RX10II sony raw files.  (RAW ARW file type).   I checked the web site of Adobe, it says version 6.1.1 LR. reads the ARW files.    6.1.1 seems to be only available in CC.  Is this correct?  My purchase was a waste of money?

    Advice please.

Lightroom 6.1.1 isn't Lightroom CC. Lightroom 6.1.1 is a stand-alone version and not required Lightroom CC. This is a free update to the version you have now. Download the last 6.3 maintenance of Lightroom Lightroom

Thanks for the info.  Disk management does not show the drive.  The problem was resolved after reloading BIOS, as suggested in another post.

Check that the device is detected in Device Manager. Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click on start

    b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc

    c. in the Device Manager window, look for the device and expand the drive, double-click the sub element to check if an error message or error code is listed.

Microsoft did not your hardware - done HP.

All support for it - regardless of your operating system - is the manufacturer of the equipment.

Use HDVSplit to capture hard disk and then import them into PE.

  • LR6 does not recognize the .nefs of D7200

I installed LR6 into my Macbook Pro and upgraded to Yosemite at the same time.  LR6 works as well as previous versions on my .jpegs, but does not recognize the .nefs.  It doesn't matter that the same .jpegs if the .nefs are next to them on the PHOTO and are selected.  What Miss me?

    Hi rjb.

Nikon D7200 is compatible with version 6.0 of Lightroom.

As you already have Lightroom 6.0, then you used Nikon transfer to transfer the files, if this is true, please do not use Nikon transfer and try directly import into Lightroom.

  • ADE does not recognize the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

I have Adobe Digital Editions on my computer and have been able to load books from my library on my corner and the nookcolor.  I recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and attempted to load a book that I just got from the library on ADE but ADE does not recognize the Galaxy Tab as a device.  It does not at all appear in the library.  I checked the files tab as recommended by another post on this site.  The Adobe Digital Editions file is not on the tab.

I would have given you a little more in detail.  Sorry - who knows?

I do not have a Galaxy, but I 'assume' that he has some installation instructions

that came with it, and one of those is to go online to Samsung and register

the device with them.  Implementation of applications will be a part of this process.

The ebook app connects you to the Google Bookstore, where you'll probably

must create an account with a user ID and password.  A small file will be

put it on the shelf with this information, which ADE will use in interface

    with your tablet.

I do not have a Galaxy, but when I went through this process with SONY, to

one time they asked me if I wanted SONY to handle epub files and I

said no, because I had to use ADE.  You may be faced with the same

with Google - or not.  I think that the reason why they asked, was that they wanted

set up an exclusive link with my ereader, which would have kept me

their ebookstore for all my downloads.

    I hope this helps!
