  I have the HP Photosmart C4680 all-in-One, with cartiridges of original ink 300XL and 5 * HP Premium Plus Photo paper.

  I'm having a problem with the picture quality of some of the photos I print printing. It seems that the large surfaces of single-color get strange vertical discolored on them. Take a look at the attachment below and let me know what you think.

  In case someone else has the same problem, I tried to print the same photo using Picasa with the same exact paper/detail settings, I had already used with the Windows Photo Viewer and it turned out perfect! I knew it would make a difference at the outset because photo took almost 3 times the time to print as he did previously.

  My suggestion is that you should try a different software first, I lost way too much ink/paper trying to clean the head and printing and re-printing of the same photos...

  It's actually a bit harder than you think.

  Fade effects usually removes the item that they disappear from the page, they just change to zero opacity. Removing it would usually result in some reflow design, move things around the page. That is why something behind the faded element is not "clickable", he is still behind a transparent element.

  Hi, I have 17 and very new to Photoshop.  I have the CS3 version.  My father is a pastor and I'm working on our pages of Church Directory using Photoshop.  I have been interested in graphics for some time and I'm very proficient with Microsoft Office programs.  But do the directory of the Church, my parents thought it would be a good idea to take the next step and use Photoshop.  It has been quite difficult, a new apprenticeship program.  (I've been Googling practically everything - 'how can you _')  I looked pretty Photoshop tutorials to find out that this program can do just about everything except make it is quite complicated and requires an insane amount of steps.

  I have already created the majority of pages in Publisher and now I'm trying to reproduce the pages in Photoshop in the hope of getting a better print quality.  For the cover of the book, I want the page look like this (below).  I used the effect of soft edges 50 PT. in Microsoft Publisher, and I LOVE the look.  However, I can't reproduce the effect in Photoshop.  I tried to use the pen tool and he basically gave me the look I wanted (a little more box-like that I would have preferred, but it would have worked) but when I tried to move it to the document with the mountain background, it turns out all this trouble.  It was basically just a box with a sort of faded inside edges.  I did the feather on a transparent background, so this isn't the problem.  I don't know why it does this when I move from one document to the other.  Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

  

  Create layer masks and paint with a very soft black brush on the mask.

  If you have painted too, painting with white and everything will be fine.

• Why my photos corrupt during the transition from XP to Vista?

  I recently bought a new Pavilion p6140f PC with Vista Home Premium installed.  When I transferred my pictures of my old XP system to it, a large percentage of them appear corrupt.  When you go into the records, initially the thumbnails load up the fine (the photo looks good), but a second later the thumbnail appears corrupt (half, discoloration, misalignments plans).  When I click the image, it loads under the corrupted form.  I tried to clear the cache of thumbnails with HP support, but it does not work.  Is it possible to recover my pictures?  It seems that somehow be ok since the thumbnails first then load corrupt.  Any help would be appreciated.

  I work as an IT Pro also, but came to the same question as the above posts:

  I have the same problem with Windows 7 x 64 (final, no beta version): after downloading images using my card reader 5 to 10% of the images get corrupted. At first I thought there was a problem of transfer: copy of the files on card for hard drive often gave me an uncorrupted image - after trying 1-5 times.

  So the source images should be OK.

  So I thought it's my hard drives (I have 2 hard drives in reverse [not windows RAID software but the motherboard includes a]) and I replaced two hard drives.
  ---> same result: copy the files to a card reader (also tested different ones before replacement of disks) on disk HARD destroyed images (JPG and as I have * just * also performs RAW (Canon) files).

  Also, I can't find any information on the net about it - especially not for win7.
  I'm afraid there is a real problem with win vista / win7 - perhaps with special chipsets?

  During my win7 beta-test (more then half a year) moved never this problem.

  If someone finds a solution, please post here...

• How can I make my photos in my slideshow move slowly towards the screen while this mixture?

  I was looking at my pictures of holiday and hit the word "slideshow".  A photo could evolve slowly towards me for a few seconds, and then again one right after the other... it looked really cool.  Now - for some reason any...   If you use Windows Photo Viewer to display pictures on the computer, then try these steps and check.

  a. double click on a photo and click the slide show button.
  b. right-click on the photo and select slideshow speed or slide show average speed.
  c. When finished, close the Windows Photo Viewer and once more open it and check if the problem persists.

  I created an animated gif of a discoloration of summer in a winter scene scene.

  I have reproduced the scene several times.

  Bank added layers filled with white.

  

  Changed opacities of the empty layers increase the value 10, 20, 30, etc. and merge down.

  I've renamed the layers merged to reflect the values of opacity.

  

  At the top of the stack, I added the scene of winter and in a duplicates created in a similar way with an opacity of decrease values.

  The result is that the summer scene faints and then winter scene fades.

  The red arrow indicates the transition from summer to winter layers layers.

  

  I created the gif animated by save for Web.

  Check the animate and choose the delay of the frame.

• Remove the gray background of photo black and white

  I have a black and white photo, ink, brush drawing I want to print on a card without the gray rectangle showing a bit of the background of the image. It is a drawing with edges rough and gray subtle where the ink is thin around the brush strokes which must be kept in ink.

  Try a levels adjustment layer and adjust the white to the left point slider until the cast iron disappears. You can also do the same thing the black using the black slider to the far left, if it is faded or discolored. Adjustment layers is that they do not alter the image permanently. You can delete the layer if you want to try something else.

  Levels, it's just that I prefer to the cleaning of a scan of the comic strip.

• RAW images are discolored in bridge

  After I imported my photos in bridge, some of them are destroyed through discoloration.  They look OK when I view the card while the card is in the camera.  Also, if I take the same SD card and import the same pictures on another windows computer, the image is fine.  Here is a sample of the appearance of the image.  What happens in Adobe Bridge to cause this problem.  The image can also be seen to Picasa Web Albums - David Fitzpatrick

  

  Go to the CC bridge > Camera Raw preferences > uncheck "use graphics processor.

  Also hold command Option Shift (MAC) Control ALT SHIFT (WINDOWS), and then select Reset preferences, empty cache

  I've been using LR3 for a couple of years now. I recently updated my Windows 8 to 8.1, and now, I noticed a significant lack of saturation when sending in some places. Initially, I thought it was an old PSP I was using, so I uninstalled it. Now, I realize, this was not the case. It does when I download my edited/exported photos to sites like shutterfly, printing sites and my own website (www.caleasephotography.com). It downloads very well for facebook and burns discs fine, but when I opened them in my old PSP, it was discolor them there, too. I had the Geek Squad update and fix my computer, so I don't know what to do. = (Any suggestions?

• Need help to fix a Flash in an old Photo...

  IM work alittle bit with PS Elements 9 and Im having a problem trying to correct an older photo where the flash was elevated to the bottom of the image and also theres these white simple points in the lower part of the image shown in the cropped image, I downloaded.   The white dots are on all channels... There is nothing to find... the best your going to get is to use a blur technique to fill the white dots. There's not enough there to get a good result or with the stamp of duplication or the healing brush.

  I got the above to duplicate the image and then applying the filter<><>

  It's not pretty, but at least it's less embarrassing than the white dots. I would recommend using masking so you on | apply filters to a limited area. (See the next paragraph.)

  Since the damage is only in the background of your image, add a layer mask to your image double filtered. Take the gradient tool and set your chips of black and white color by default. (The abbreviation is D). Press X to Exchange tokens of color so that the chip of black color is the foreground color in your Toolbox. Set your option degraded on the type of linear gradient in the options bar, and then select the black to transparent gradient in the gradient editor your presets. Click on the layer mask in the layers palette. Hold your shift key in when you drag the tool degraded over areas of your image that you want to be unfiltered.

  (Note: you could have meanings reversed... mask filled with black paint to hide the duplicate image filtered; set the chip of foreground color in the Toolbox to white and drag the transparent white degraded into the mask to reveal the area that you want to filter.)

  I would try to get her curls as the transition zone to bring back a little of the filter effect. I think that the tips of the hair in my filtered version are a bit too soft. I think you could get away with the neck and her blouse being soft.

  Black mask or cache hidden... layer black in my cache example the double layer that has variations of color applied... the original image is visible when black appears in the mask.

  The white areas of the mask will reveal a hidden layer... Notice the areas in my image corresponding to the white areas of the mask are a purple tinge... filtered in double layer is visible in the areas where the mask is white.

  Grey areas are semi transparent... think of transition or feathering. You can also call this discoloration.  More dark shades of gray are more opaque (hide more layer masked black being fully opaque) while the lighter shades of gray are more transparent (reveal more... white layer being totally transparent).  Areas in my example (central part) gradually transition from the original image to filtered in double layer.

  Tip 1 : You can click on the string between the mask and the image to get the layer and mask. Click on the mask, and then use the command free transform (Ctrl-t on PC; Cmd + t on Mac) to adjust the placement of gradient in the mask.  It's a good idea to click again on the area of the chain and connect the chain as it prevents you from accidentally move the masked area.

  Tip 2: If you hide the opposite of planned, you can invert the mask to reverse the masked areas. (Ctrl + i if you use PC; Cmd + i if you use a Mac).

• Photos, iCloud and OneDrive sync

  I have a question on how to better organize my photo library.

  For the moment, on my space OneDrive (mapped to a partition on my MacBook SSD), I have a folder called 'Images' containing just about all of my photos and organized by folders.

  Since my tech ecosystem is roughly marked Apple (iPhone, iPad and MacBook), I would use the power and versatility of the Photos and iCloud, so that everything remains in all of my devices and free space memory iPhone sync.

  Here's the question: I want to keep my pictures saved on OneDrive, then put the Photos on my Mac to view photos from this folder and use iCloud to share through my devices.

  -I see the same folder structure on iPhone and iPad a synchronization is complete?

  -More important, if I take a picture with my iPad, it will be placed not only on iCloud but also automatically added pictures on Mac which, in turn, puts it in the folder of photos on my OneDrive?

  -Finally, take pictures of my iDevices will store them in the film. If I move them into folders, photos will be mapped (copied to iCloud) on my other devices constantly (in the folder)?

  I would like to notice I'm not trying to avoid using iCloud premium space - I already have a subscription plan of 50 GB that I don't mind mounted. I just keep having just all my photos on OneDrive.

  The photo library can not be stored on a basic system to pictures not work will have a referenced library, so you may not have a local library references photos on a disc - the photo library can be on a local drive connected directly to the Mac OS Extended format
