• How Merge iPhoto, Aperture, library of Photos (and avoid duplication)?

  Hello, I had several iPhoto and opening libraries which were badly named and who had no doubt duplicates. I have now opened and Photos created new libraries. Then the Photos seems to have renamed some of the libraries, I think that each of my old iPhoto/Aperture libraries has a corresponding photo library (except one).

  I would switch to a lightroom finder-hosted workflow and I want to get all my photos in a big file (or a folder with subfolders dated), with all duplicates marked for deletion. Ideally, I'll end with a master and a modified version of the final files, but if it's too hard, I'm OK with a few masters.

  Is it possible to automate this process?

  iPhoto has no tools to search for duplicates.

  You can use iPhoto Library Manager tis earch duplicates and merge libraries into one.  If you do not yet have iPhoto Library manager, you can wait with double search until you have migrated photo libraries and the use of pictures of power instead. Photos of power is the successor of iPhoto Library Manager for Photos.

• Print keywords

  How can I print a list of my keywords?

  A list of key words only, or a photo with the listed keywords title list?

  Bothis is not possible in Photos. You can display all the keywords in the keywords Manager Panel in "Edit keywords" but not to print the list, unless you take a screenshot, and keywors displayed on the Panel of information for each photo.

  Photos of power can view the photo library in list mode, where you can see a list of all the photos with keywords, titles, descriptions, file name. But again, there is no print command to save this list.

• Having problems EDITING keywords

  I have trouble EDITING keywords.

  Like many, I use PowerPhotos so I can show the keywords under the thumbnails. However, you will need to return to Photos if you want to change these keywords. It's editing is weird (at least for me).

  Let's say my keywords have eight words. But I want to add a ninth Word. I find that you can't really do that. Photos just trying to add an additional "segment" in front of the original one. I don't want to do that, I want to change the original key words game.  How can I do this?

  Photo shows the keywords in alphabetical order.

  Your photo has a keyword 'Galveston Hotel San Louis Resort' and you add a keyword '10th floor.

  If you want to change the keyword 'Galveston Hotel San Louis Resort' to "Galveston Hotel San Louis Resort 10th floor", you must change the key word in the keyword manager, or add a new keyword "Galveston Hotel San Louis Resort 10th floor" and remove the old keyword.

  I use a few keywords; for such a long text with spaces, I'd probably use the description field. Photos of power can also display a description under the thumbnails as subtitles.

  Did anyone tried PowerPhotos from Fat Cat Software for libraries that merge? I have three different libraries of photos and I was wondering if it's a good idea to buy and use this software for their merger and later find and remove duplicate photos.

  Experiences? Can this software cause damage or does it work well?

  Yes, the software is safe - it's by people who bought you iPhoto Library Manager

  It does not have a full merger as IPLM did - you choose to merge the original or the current version and as IPLM does not merge projects

  You can merge using iCloud Library Manager by selecting each library as the library system and let it finish the download and download and then make the next library - in the end you have a large library with any downloaded content of libraries (and pretty good elimination of duplicates)

  With photos of power gain you lots of capabilities, including more display options options and sorting

• Where is actually located at El Capitan pictures files?

  I used to have a folder called 'Images', which included a folder "iPhotos library" where lived the real files.  And if I wanted to, I could "show in finder" to see the original photo and power to open it with, say, Photoshop.

  I searched, but can't seem to find the equivalent with the new application "Photos."  Overall, I like the app much better than iPhoto (especially being able to put photos into multiple albums).  But sometimes I really have to change the original, and I can't do that if I can't find it.

  No - you do not access your Photos that was never directly

  TO edit a photo in any use of the editor third external editors for extension Photos ($0.99 on the App store) - see Photo editing Extensions of Photos for Mac for information about the available extensions - or use the media browser in the Editor (at the bottom left of the window under media == > photos == > Photos) or select photos from Photos and export to a folder on the desktop and use there

  Photos has no built-in method to merge libraries, unless you use iCloud photo library. Do you have?

  If you activate a library of Photos in your photo library to iCloud, wait for the pictures to download from iCloud, and then take the second library and activate it as your iCloud library the second library will download to iCloud as well. You now have a library merged in iCloud, which will be downloaded in your second library.

  This method requires that you have signed up for enough iCloud storage to organize the library merged. But it's the method with less loss, if you have already changed photos in two libraries.

  Alternatively, you can use the full version and paid power Photos to merge your libraries into one. But this cannot move your photos as pairs of the original or edited versions between libraries. You must decide if you want to move the original or edited versions.

  Photos of power is an excellent tool to browse and manage separate libraries.  You can browse the library of Photos and switch between libraries without having to open the pictures. And it's easy to view the metadata of the pictures in the thumbnail view or list.

  After a hard drive crash and recover most of my files on an external hard drive which eventually became my only internal, but because I live on an island in South America and there's hardly anyone on the island I live who can help other that a friend, I took a trip to Miami to visit the genius bar and they did a new install of Capitan which I don't really like by the way.  In any case, I though I had lost all my iPhoto library, but I managed to find my photos. Only now I have two libraries... the iPhoto with images from my Photos on Capitan and 8 years.  Is it possible to consolidate them in a library?  And can I still use RAW to be able to edit photos? aIso, y at - it a tutorial for the Photos?

  You cannot merge libraries without third party software - Photos of power can merge pictures libraries

  You can migrate iPhoto libraries to libraries of Photos by dragging Photos icon in the Dock

  When you first launched the Photos it has migrated the last used for Photos iPhoto library

  Hi all - two questions.  When I backed up my macbook Pro on an external hard drive, I accidentally duplicated my entire photo library (9 000 duplicate photos).  I wiped my mac, just reinstalled and went to export my photos.  Two things happened.  The library, many of them would not export.  Secondly, all duplicates of photos that have exported, also exported.  I want to get duplicates on my mac.  How can I do this?

  I just upgrade my iCloud to 50GB plan.

  I want to be able to all back up on my iPhone and iPad so if something always happens to each device, everything can be recovered later. Also, I want to synchronize all my photos and videos, and downloaded pictures from my iPhone or iPad to the cloud, so I can't see that on my Mac and possibly transfer to my Mac to an external hard drive and delete them from the cloud. I'm not interested in putting all of my pictures and videos on all of my devices using photo stream. I transferred photos/videos on my Mac using the Image Capture on the Mac.

  1. under settings > iCloud > Photos I have iCloud, photo sharing power in order to make albums and share them with people. I have currently iCloud photo library on my iPhone is turned off. I turned it on and it says it has been downloaded 448 photos, although I have only 256 photos? What else is the download? It downloads photos from shared albums?

  See a random number in the hub with some contacts. Their facebook photos do not appear on the right side of the screen, just a text link indicating the number of albums, and if you click on that you can get photos, but the large thumbnails do not appear. Seems random, affecting some contacts, but not others.

  Maybe the facebook feed this app uses is screwed, because he isn't as showing a photo of a contact, I know just shared of TI (because I see that photo in the hub power contacts on my windows phone).

  There is no option in Photos for MAc that allows you to randomly pull a slide show.

  You can create an album and have the album as an instant slide show in a random order using an Apple Script.

  If you make your slideshow as a video, you can burn it to a DVD and ship the DVD.  Or send it by email - Apple mail will use the mailbox, if the attachment is too large for the mail and send the recipient a link to a folder in iCloud to download.

  You can use the mailbox to send files that exceed the maximum size allowed by your ISP email account . Mailbox post large attachments to iCloud, where they are encrypted and stored for 30 days.

  • If you have an iCloud account and you're connected to iCloud when you click on send, mail will automatically send the attachments using the mailbox. Mail attachments do not count against your storage iCloud.
  • If you have not an iCloud account, or if you are not connected, Mail asking you if you want to use the mailbox (always use send, select "no longer request for this account").

  If a recipient using Mail in OS X Yosemite or later, attachments are included with your message. For the other beneficiaries, your message includes links to download attachments and their expiry date.

• Photo screensaver prevents the display of power

  New HP dv5-1235dx notebook my wife is running Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit.  His favorite screen saver is 'Photos', using a directory containing hundreds of photos.  The screen saver is programmed to start after 3 minutes.  The computer is powered by a power cord, rather than out of the battery.

  The problem is that the option of power management to turn off the display does not work when this screensaver is activated.  No matter how much time is allowed for the screen saver, or how late is allowed before the screen should turn off.

  If any other screen saver is selected, the power management option turns off the display as expected.  My wife doesn't want to use a different screen saver, however.

  Is it possible to get to the screen to disable everything using the screen saver pictures?

  I don't want to put the computer to sleep, because preventing my virus scan chose to take place late at night.

  The computer manufacturer helped me solve the problem.

  They suggested I have replace the screen saver Windows Vista 'Photos' with a screensaver third photo of my choice, then try to use power management features to turn off the screen again.  It worked.  The third photo screensaver that I have chosen (called 'Slide show without end' and on the Tucows site) does not interfere with power management functions the way built into Vista 'Photos' screen saver appears to do.
