• Photoshop CS6 (extended) installation on case-sensitive disks

  I understand that under the "requirements" of the Adobe Web site says you can't install PS CS6 (Extended) on the case-sensitive drives (I use a MacBook Pro, OS X v. 10.7.4).  This seems to have been the case at least since CS5.

  I did not see this, and I bought (excitedly) update CS PS5 (Extended) to SP6.  I had NO PROBLEM installation PS5 on this drive.

  Of course, as others have said, the installer refuses to allow you to install on a case-sensitive drive (for example, no options to install on another drive).  There is also no mention that CS6 must be installed on the boot drive.

  Requiring installation on the boot drive has serious implications for those of us who need readers sensitive to other work; I don't want to have to restart on another drive when I use PS and switch back and forth - it's all just stupid.

  From my point of view (as a user, granted), this is lazy programming, and this must be resolved as soon as POSSIBLE.  At least in my case, I have a piece of a $400 software just too place, when I want to be up to my eyeballs enjoying PS6 throughout it's fame.

  Outside an Adobe fix, I don't see a solution to this problem.  If I wipe my drive, put in shape in case-insensitive, then I lose the functionality for other critical work.  In addition, I'm not sure the process of wiping the disk, formatting it not sensitive to case and restore TimeMachine everything would be even work (since the backup hardware is from a case-senstive drive and try to go to a drive that is not case sensitive).

  The REALLY frustrating part is that I have installed Photoshop 3, 4 and 5 (and much, much further) on the casing of the disks - all with no problem.  It is only now that the question slap me in the face.

  It has to be a work around, if not a 'real' solution.

  Now I solved it (no thanks Adobe, who I am very disappointed).

  In the past, when you wanted to install something on your Mac, you simply copy a folder in your Applications directory.

  Photoshop (among other programs) got more complicated, it is decided that it must install things in the different system directories and potentially in your user directory.

  That is the question (and the solution, in this case).  My user directory is on the drive that is case-sensitive.  I don't know what Adobe needs to install (as Photoshop is, after installation, available to all users), but this has been the key.

  SOLUTION: Log on as another user (administrator-enabled) and install it.  Bang - it works without any problem.

  Yes, I still had to copy all my plug-ins, etc. of the PS5 by hand (and sort those SP6 is not like - once again at hand), but at least it works.

  Good software engineering practices dictate that installed software should PREFER discs case-sensitive and not case insensitive (think of the data).

  Good installation support (on the phone) should at least suggest trying another user account...

  Adobe: You owe me for my time on this one.  Where should I send my invoice?

• Photoshop cs6 selection installation language is in Japanese

  Photoshop cs6 DVD has been closed and labelled for distribution only in North America. After choice of installation and putting in the serial number that has received a green check mark, asked me to make a selection of the language. All three choices are Japanese characters and the button FOLLOWING is "grayed out".  All screens before that were in English.

• Photoshop CC 2015 - INSTALLER didn't INITIALIZE PU

  Hey people,

  I really need your help here. I've been using Photoshop CS7 for awhile, and I decided to upgrade to Photoshop CC 2015. I uninstalled the PS CS7 and downloaded PS CC 2015. I clicked on the setting up of the files and got a pop-up box saying "we met the following errors. Setup could not initialize. Please download Adobe support advisor to detect the problem.

  I went online only to find out that Adobe support advisor was discontinued.

  I searched this forum and other sites for possible solutions for it. I tried all that they recommended.

  As to rename the OOBE to OOBE.old folder. I used CC cleaner to clean my system. I even installed Adobe Application Manager twice, all proved abortive.

  Your advice and the possible solution to this would be much appreciated.

  Uninstall everything that you have and that you use the cleanup tool later.  Then download and install CC.

  Recently I've just upgraded to windows 7 10, and in the process, I uninstalled my Photoshop CS6. After the upgrade is finished, I headed to the adobe website to install Photoshop once more, soon for a new creative cloud service. I decided to try it with a trial for now, to see if I could buy later. I launched the installer of creative cloud, and once it was done, I clicked on the try button next to Photoshop, as well as other programs such as first and hearing that I used to have in the past. A few days in the new creative versions cloud was pretty cool, and I liked my fair use of it. Unfortunately a few days later I walked directly into a virus online and random programs began to install on my desktop. I panicked! I decided to do a restore of the system on my machine for a few days earlier, (unfortunately the timestamp was set before I installed all new adobe programs ) scanned for viruses and malware and cleaned my machine once more. After I did, I installed the installer of creative cloud again to see now that it was the fate by a few seconds in. I was confused, so I made online searches to quickly find this "creative cloud cleaning tool" provided by adobe. Gave him a quick run, cleaned up all the old files that remained, and installed right accelerated through good as new again. Shortly after I clicked the button 'Try' next to Photoshop, it went through the entire download process and then display in orange text, «Installation Failed - more». Only, this became more frustrated at the minute... I decided to try the same installation process on the first, and it's the same thing; «Failed to install - more». I decided to click on learn more to soon find text read, ' errors occurred during installation ' (7) I studied this Error Code 7and he said to try to install your applications through safe mode with network. STILL NO LUCK. I gave up at this point, and I can help the community! Thank you

  I have an installation disc of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 with the license of my previous company.  However, I have a new 2012 Macintosh computer that no longer supports the old installation disc (PowerPC not supported).  I do not need to buy the new product for the old version is perfect for what I need.  Is it possible that I can install this latest older software on my laptop?

  CS2 will not install on your modern Macs with Intel processors running Yosemite (OS X 10.10).

  CS2 is a PowerPC software designed to run on PowerPC processors. It is not compatible with the Intel processors.

  The latest version of Mac OS X can run CS2 was OS X 10.6.

  I use Photoshop CC last version (Windows 64 bit - 10). But I have the problem with the installation of the extensions; ASHLEY files. I have tried/read all discussions about this, again, again and again, I downloaded Adobe Extension Manager CC but it does not recognize my Photoshop so I could not even use it.

  Hi preatone,

  The CC extensions Manager is not compatible with Photoshop CC 2015, there is a work around that.

  You can download the Photoshop CC 2014 and install the plugin on. Once done, run the Photoshop CC 2015 and you should see this plugin there.
