Photoshop CS3 - small impossible to see toolbars / Hi DPI support / 10 Windows

I have a full registered copy of Photoshop CS3, which works fine on my old PC with Windows 10, but on my new laptop with a screen high resolution, Photoshop tool bars are incredibly small and impossible to see. I see many others on these forums have had similar problems with more modern versions of Photoshop, but generally Adobe has not provided a solution. After a phone call to customer support hours (and I say well HOURS) on the online chat and make sharing screen with Adobe, they always tell me to refer to these forums, so now I write myself out of frustration. Does anyone know how to set the toolbars and other icons in Photoshop CS3?

It took hours them because they refused to give me any kind of support because I wasn't asking them on a current Adobe product. After talking with 4 different people, that I finally got someone who wanted to tell me just that - CS3 will not just high resolution monitors. Although I did not like the answer, I thanked the last guy to talk to me at least my problem. Just wish someone would could tell me only hours earlier. Anyway, surprise happy ending: the latest update of Windows 10 solved the problem and I'm good to go! The bottom line is not based on the Adobe customer service except if you pay monthly subscription fees to their latest products!

  • Photoshop CS3 - need to uninstall and reinstall but disable is grayed out

Photoshop CS3 lived happily for a while on my system running Windows 7 32-bit, however, lately, at the closing, it freezes, requiring a Ctrl-alt-del to force her to leave. There are the 10.0.1 patch, later. A re-installation of repair has not fixed the problem, and I'm not aware that I installed everything recently with which he must come into conflict. I tried the various tips and tricks on the forums related to refreshing hide, etc., but nothing works. Something has broken I hope to solve with a clean install. Buy the latest version of Photoshop cloud isn't in the budget... I want to just go back to where I was...

I think I do an uninstall full of PS CS3, including deleting manually all entries in registry associated with CS3, Adobe, Photoshop, etc + run cleaner utilities. While it is not too happy about it, I'm willing to try. This is the problem, I think I also have to disable everything first to avoid some problem with Adobe to later reactivate the new facility... the problem is part of this which seems to be corrupt are the menu relating to 'disable', 'activate', etc... they are gray, so I have no way to turn it off until I try a complete uninstall.

    A few questions;

    • Is it a known issue and the difficulty for a lack of deactivation / activation for PS CS3 menu options?
    • Is there a way to preserve the activation manually key and delete all the other possible corrupted files and registry entries so that I can do a clean install?
    • Is there another way to repair a damaged installation of PS CS3?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

In the end, PS CS3 became unresponsive and activate - deactivate the menu grayed out again. After trial and error a lot more, the only way to reinstall was to completely erase the hard drive, reformat and install a new OS, etc. Since I had done similar work to solve a CAD program which had problems with a re - install a player, I think that Photoshop CS3 should write files of system flags hidden in some sectors of the HDD outside the volume of Windows OS, not only hidden or obscure entries in the Windows registry, so without a way to manually find and fix roadmap / remove these flags or powerful to remove utility completely all traces of a program, a pavilion of sector or software disk corrupted outside normal windows volume can prevent or corrupt future attempts to re - install the software... that's my theory at least that other software publishers use these plans to try to protect their software licenses; Woe to the poor soul who blocked a drive hard after that software support is complete!

Because I needed to save the volume as-is due to other software that cannot be easily re-installed, workaround to fix PS CS3 was rather install my last open license for PS CS4, which now is now installed on the same drive and continues to work perfectly.

  • Impossible to install photoshop cs3 on my new windows 7 pc, does not recognize the serial number

help can't install my drive photoshop cs3 on new pc windows 7, but eventually downloads does not recognize serial number

    Hi hope dt,.

Photoshop CS3 is not tested on Windows 7 and you could face compatibility problems.

    For serial number errors, please see: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/my-serial-number-doesn ' t - work.html

  • Why the look of the evolution of the Photoshop CS3 to CS4 toolbar?

A nice visual feature to Mac in Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS3 was the appearance of "brilliant" from the toolbar that has acquired the Aqua interface.  Now in CS4, the toolbar looks more like the version of Windows (more bland).  I know that 'how the program research' does not change the way that Photoshop is used, I just thought I would ask in the forums why they would change the appearance of the toolbar for Mac they have had for 7 years.

I've never worked with a Tablet, so I can't address your concerns there.

The guy at the Apple Store has been/is just. You CAN run Photoshop for Windows on a Mac. There are several way to do.

1 boot Camp. -It comes with OS X, so don't buy anything. As long as you have a Windows install disc newerr than XP SP2, you can load. Downside is: you must stop and restart Windows with Boot Camp. No access to OS X. it is difficult if you are working with files in one and go to the other to change.

2 VMWare Fusion - not free, but you can run Windows while you're still under OS X. very well with two monitors; Windows on one single, OS X, on the other. VMWare Tools allows to drag files from right Mac to the Windows Desktop also.

3 parallels Desktop - once again not free, but has the same features as VMWare. and you can access files of two operating systems with the other OS.

I use VMWare and tried to Parallels. I have XP, Vista and Windows 7, loaded as a virtual machines and CS3 and CS4 software running in each of them. Windows seems to actually runs faster on a Mac.

    Hope that helps.

  • Help! Impossible to uninstall Photoshop CS3

Had several problems with my Photoshop CS3 workhorse, so I decided it was time to reinstall a clean version. Following instructions regarding disabling (which I later learned was pointless) to uninstall, but uninstalling/installer in my file utility program does nothing... except lie there like a dead fish. Adobe don't suport responded to this version, so I came here for the forums, but did not find the exact issue. Apologies to meet in time and space if it is there and I'm too stupid to find it. I work on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.4. I tried to install the cleaning tool, but it doesn't seem to work either. Yes, I earlier thought to restart my computer and will do while I wait for some kind soul to give me a hand here. Thank you.

    Hi Curt,.

Well, I finally solved the problem in a very complicated way. I loaded Photoshop CS3 from the disc, then I went to my Utilities folder and used the new program of uninstall to remove, apparently part of the problem. The uninstall program quickly disappeared again. I went to Photoshop and tried to open it... serial number and activation code were already entered in boxes that made me think that the old corrupt version was still there. I tried to open an image, Photoshop started loading and I got a "fatal error" page Not having any ideas better I tried to install it again from the disc and reproduced the uninstall application that come to create another alias and reproduced the other element in the file that generated an alias for the configuration application, then I clicked on the alias of the facility and he launched a different Setup program that offered the choice to install or reinstall Photoshop CS3 - a option I had not given before. So I clicked on reinstall and it took at least twice as long as the previous installation. And, I clicked on a Photoshop image loaded without having to ask for a serial number or activation code and it seems to work. I checked on the two things that had caused me problems, and both worked perfectly. I don't necessarily recommend this to anyone who has the same problem, unless they, like me, have tried everything and have nothing to lose. If the cleaning tool worked properly, it would probably be easier this way.  Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi ramona1962,

Adobe Photoshop CS 3 is a very old software and the operating system that you are using is the most recent, so there may be compatibility issues that adobe has not tested these applications on newer operating systems.

  • Recorded images appear as 72 dpi Photoshop CS3 Extended

    Hello

All of a sudden my images that have been saved at 300 DPI are coming as 72 dpi when I re - open in Photoshop CS3 Extended.

I have create a psd to 300 DPI file, work on it, save it as a jpeg/png, etc. maximum quality, but when I open in Photoshop again, she appears as 72 dpi. Even the finished jpeg/png file sizes seem too small. I create maps and graphics for clients and I need to know that they are saved at 300 dpi.

Can anyone help? Do you think I can have a bug? Pretty sure that it is fully updated.

    Thank you!

How can you actually save them? It looks like you use save for Web, which eliminates these flags of meta in your JPEG files. PNG has also no ppp to start setting... So more or less what you see would be quite normal. It is a mistake to workflow on your part use the normal save / save as, and formats that supports an indicator DPI (including JPEG, TIFF, PSD, but not most of the other)

  • Photoshop CS3 Lag click on new MBP

I recently bought a new 2011 Macbook Pro 15 ", 2.2 ghz, 4 GB of ram. I am under photoshop CS3 and I am facing a very strange problem.

More precisely in my layers palette and my dialogue layer styles, photoshop rowing for about 3 to 5 seconds when a left click of things. For example, I can right click on a layer and go to 'blending options', and the dialog box styles layer dated back almost immediately. However, when I double-click on the right end of the layer (the way I usually raise layer styles), it takes about 5 solid seconds for the dialog box to appear. Similarly, if I use keyboard shortcuts to navigate through the different layers of selection, the selection layer change almost immediately happens. However, when I click a layer, it takes about 4-5 seconds for the layer to select. It is almost as if I am now the mouse button for those few seconds. This same period also happens while selecting the different layer styles in the dialogue of layer styles, as well as selecting a color in the color picker, making it almost impossible for me to choose a color, because if I moved my mouse within these 4-5 seconds as he is trolling the color will change everytime my mouse is currently.

I don't am not facing this problem anywhere else on my computer or anywhere else within Photoshop. By clicking on all the other tools and options works very well. Photoshop is configured to use 65% of my system memory, and it is fixed at 2 levels of cache to use. I tried to disable ' tap by clicking on ' my trackpad, as well as using a mouse usb standard - nothing fixed. This problem no matter how big or small the document I'm working on is.

Does anyone have an idea of what this might be?

I had a similar problem. Make a right click on a tool would take 5 seconds until I have a chance to select. I worked on it and found that the issue was in fact with another application running on my system, I had. RightZoom app causes lag problems in Photoshop. After turning off RightZoom photoshop works perfectly. If you have not installed a RightZoom then try to disable opengl in the performance section of Photoshop preferences.

I want like to screen for web pages space that possible but have still my toolbar is accessible at all times. Is it possible to do what the button 'use small icons' in the toolbar Customize with some other (hidden) setting? I don't mind if it crops up and down "big buttons.

Thank you, but that does not make the icons smaller in size as the old way, used to work.
