  From the information you provided it seems that you must indicate your computer what program to use to open documents when they are opened through Explorer.

  It is easy just follow the instructions below and you'll be up and running in no time.

  1. go to the Solution Explorer and look for a file that you want to open in word/excel.

  2. Once you find the right type of file (MS Word.docs/.docx) (Excel .xls) just right-click and select "Open with" menu drop-down menu drop-down.

  3. click on "set the default program.

  4. a list of pop programs until navigates to that you want to open files with. Once you have found it select and apply the changes.

  5. your done! You should now be able to open this type of file with the program you have selected every time that you select in Solution Explorer. Just do the same thing with your other types of files and your good to go!

  I have saved a file in Paint.net, apparently with a name not and now the file opens.  I saved the file under the name "Lattice2.1" Paint.net doesn't say not something was wrong and showed the file is "recent decisions" list.  But when I go to open it, it says "the image type is not recognized and cannot be opened.  When I view the file in Windows Explorer, it shows Type: file.  When I right click on it, it does not offer the option to open with any application.  I changed the name, but that did not help.

  Try to change the name to lattice2.bmp and then see if that allows you to open the file with paint.  I'm fairly certain that this is the type of default file for this program.

  I installed the new Adobe Reader XI today and when I tried to open some PDFs via command line, it reported a syntax error. Now, this syntax worked so far on versions 9 and 10 (I checked today with them and it does not), so my question is - where can I find new syntax, if there are? Google search did not help. Or what else could go wrong?

  You can not call a menu by using the built-in call_form.
  You will have to use one of the methods I described in the previous answer.
