Photoshop CC slow to open the image

Hello

I'm a newbie with photoshop and I have Photoshop CC (latest version, to update and kept updating), very slow to open a camera raw image... given about 15 seconds.

I use Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.4... It worked very well last week... I cleaned up a few caches on my mac? could be the problem

Hi photofan,.

Search for unwanted plugins, if you added one in Photoshop.

In addition, you can try to reset the Photoshop preferences, see this help.

"To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

Let us know if that helps.

Kind regards

Mohit

  • Slow to open the Images in Photoshop CS3

I just converted to win7 and installed PS CS3.  When I do an update check, there is no update for photoshop, so I believe that I am current.  If I open a jpg image via the file menu, or bridge, or using ACDSee, image files (or files) are slow to open.  If usually sees a message upward in the title bar of photoshop (where the logo is followed by "Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended") where it will briefly indicate "not responding".  It started with switch to win7.  It will take 20 seconds or more to open a jpg file and is not the giant files.

Under Options/performance, I indicated to let Photoshop use 1194 MB which is the upper part of the beach.  The range that photoshop shows as ideal never changes, regardless if photoshop is running alone or with other applications.  I indicated "scratch disks" on my drives E and C, with E being the first listed.  E have more than 500 GB of free space, and C has more than 190 GB free.  History States are 20 and cache is 6.  Settings for my NVidia GE Force 8800 video card GPU has activate verified 3D acceleration.

I don't know what else I'm supposed to optimize.  I never had this problem in vista using CS3.

This is a known bug and has been reported several times in the forum.

The solution, weird as it may seem, is to make a printer driver generic default printer.

If you do not, you can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=pdrv&platform=win

All part of the fascinating world of Photoshop CS3.

About the status of the update, in PS go to help > on to check the version. It should be 10.0.1.

  • Photoshop CS3 won't open the image window

Today I was scanning a jpg image in Photoshop CS3 and I received a message that Photoshop could not import due to a problem with the Clipboard data. (I can't rememer the exact message and I - currently - can't the message back to the top). The scanned image did save on my hard drive, so I opened it up with Painter X, where I worked with the image anyway.

In any case, I thought it must be a problem of the PS don't import not new scans. However, I tried to open a PS file I had worked with and without open image window. (The picture shows in the navigation of the PS, but no real image file opens).

I then tried to creat and open a 'new' PS file. Yet once, no the image window opens.

For all purposes, PS seems to 'see' the image files, but it will not actually open (or visible) the image window.

It's apparently a problem with Photoshop CS3 itself. I've never had a problem like this before, and I had scanned and opened an image in PS yesterday without any problem.

I use Mac OS 10.4.11 on a Mac Pro with 3 GB of Ram.

Anyone encountered this or heard of him? I appreciate any suggestions.

    Thank you.

  • opening the images in photoshop

Before when I opened a picture on my desk, it would automatically open this image in Photoshop.  Now, he opens the preview image.  I now have to drag the image to the PS icon to open it in PS.  How can I go back to where the image is automatically open in PS?

Right click on the file type you want to open, and select 'Get Info'. At halfway in the Panel Info will be the name of the default program for the file type. Select 'Photoshop' instead and then click on 'change everything '. Photoshop will then be the default instead of the preview.

Using trial versions of Lightroom and 11 elements, th bcommandement to 'Edit in Photoshop Elements 11' managed to open Photoshop but is unable to open the image. Any ideas?

Perfect.  Simply choose the file from the editor instead of the elements when you configure additional editor.  You can find it in the folder of media files \Applications\Adobe Photoshop Elements 11\Support Adobe Photoshop elements Editor.app

  • Bridge CC tries to open the image in the older version of PS (uninstalled)

Hi I have PS CC 2015 installed on my PC Backup.  I opted to keep PS 2014 installed when I installed the latest version.  I uninstalled PS CS5 and CS6.  When I double click on a thumbnail in bridge CC 6.1.1.10 x 64, I get an error saying that Photoshop CS5 exe is not found.  How can I tell bridge to open the image in PS CC 2015?  I hope it is easier than the update of all file associations in the preferences!

When I click with the right button on the thumbnail of the image and choose open with..., I see "Photoshop (default)" in the list.  If I chose this article, I get the same error.  Hmm..., (by default).  How can I change the default?

    Thanks - Dave

    Hi DaveMcKeen,

Either you can reset the file association in the preferences or can reinstall Photoshop and new Bridge which will fix the file by itself association.

How can I set the default editor of Camera Raw?

This does not explain it. I thought you did, but then again the bridge comes not with Photoshop, it's understandable.

I use Photoshop CS1 on my Mac Pro running 10.5.7.  When I click an image called an Adobe Photoshop (jpeg or tiff) image, Photoshop opens, but the image does not work.  I realize that CS1 was not designed for an Intel Mac and I plan to upgrade to CS4 in the near future, but is it possible to put Photoshop CS1 to open the image when I click on the image?

  • I want an add-on which opens the images in whatever program I chose

You know how when you search for a folder in Windows Explorer, you right-click on a type of image file and there is an 'Open with' option where you can select what type of program with which to open/view/modify this image?

There is an add-on for FireFox that allows me to do the same thing?

For example, I go to http://icanhascheezburger.com I see an image I like and that you want to save, but I want to open in IrfanView to change before I save it. So in Firefox, I right click on the image and I get the "Open with" menu has if I click right ob the same file after saving it

An add-on that can do this is Launchy - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/launchy/

Although the description says it allows you to open links and mailto with external applications, you can also set it so that when you right-click on an image you can open the image in your chosen application. See http://gemal.dk/mozilla/launchy.html for more information about configuring Launchy

  • I can't open the images in Yahoo mail with 7 Firefox, but IE works.

After several years of success with Yahoo mail and Firefox, I can longer open mail of Yahoo (jpg, bmp) images. I can open them in gmail with Firefox or IE. I can open them in Yahoo mail using IE. I am running Firefox 7.0.1 and I think, but am not sure, all my trouble started after the update to this version of Firefox.

RESOLVED: Here is the solution to "I can't open the images in Yahoo mail with 7 Firefox, but IE works." Just before I log on my E-mail Yahoo site I turn on cookies, but I never enable third-party cookies. That has always worked very well until October 2011. Just after I installed the new Firefox 7 this problem started. Now I just found out that the problem is solved, if I enable cookies from third party. Users should not have to enable cookies from third party read the Yahoo mail via Firefox!

  • Windows Photo Gallery. How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Windows Photo Gallery.  How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Additional information: there are 2 computers that I use on the first Gallery Photo of Windows will open the image and allow me to use the left and right buttons to scroll through the rest of the photos in the folder, that's what I want.

On the 2nd computer when I open an image it will open the Windows Photo Gallery in an index with thumbnails of the displayed record.  How can I change so that it opens the same thing as the first computer?

I did the following on both computers; Right-click on the image and select open with...--> choose the default program--> go--> Program Files, Windows Photo Gallery, but it will be open always differently on computer 2.

Both computers use Windows Vista 32-bit.

    Thanks in advance.

    Australian salvation,

This would happen if the file associations are corrupted on the computer, try method to set Photo Gallery Windows as the default program for opening files jpeg or png below image types.

    (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.

    (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program

    (c) in the following list of file protocol search jpeg and make sure that you have associated with the program that uses it and then check if it works.
