Photoshop CS5 - changes in "vertical offset.

When old Photoshop CS2 projects opening in Photoshop CS5, everything appears as before.  But for about 75% of the text, the "Vertical offset" field now has a nonzero value.  It seems that I have to put my 'baseline-shift' back text assigned to zero then reposition the text.  I would prefer just the "vertical offset" to be reset, because I know that I have not changed this value.

Is it possible that the 'baseline-shift' value is something other than zero for some fonts and I just never noticed that the value is not null before?  Or is it a question of opening a project from Photoshop CS2 in CS5?

Thank you

Angela

The vertical offset and other CHARACTER settings are 'sticky', which means that if you have never changed them over there, they will remain unless you reset them.  They are not changed, as far as I can see, for any choice of fonts.

If one nonzero value is set, it will be adjusted by the ppi of the document so that the text is visually shifted the appropriate amount.

Choose the command window - character in the menu to show all settings in the CHARACTER palette. Use the menu below to reset the settings of.

  • The stylus pressure Photoshop CS5 change randomly

    Hi people,

I have recently started to paint again in Photoshop CS5 (is not done since CS3). What I find is that when using normal brushes or the new mixer brush, the pressure changes randomly. By example, if I write a "S" ten times horizontally with the same lightness and natural speed, 1-5 are very good, 6 and 7 are really heavy and a bit fragile looking, then 8-10 are looking normal again. It is very random and happens quite often. Very annoying and distracting for any work of art.

I also use ZBrush, Mudbox & BodyPaint for my work and the pen rennet in the use of these programs is quite normal with no random changes.

    My specs:

    Windows 7 x 64, Photoshop, x 64, 8 GB RAM, Geforce 8800 gts 512 MB graphics card.

This was reported here several times.  If you can get the seach forum work, searching for threads that contain "Wacom" and "pressure".

According to me, the workaround solution that proved useful in these discussions was to return to a slightly older drivers Wacom.  People from Wacom are very useful and will probably run you just if you contact them directly.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 change Mode

While working in 16-bit, changing mode to 8-bit and 16-bit again; This will destroy the original data of 16 bits?

Destroy is perhaps a too strong word, but you will of course lose the 8 bits of precision it.

If you want to add an effect that comes from a single 8-bit filter, consider the Image - duplicate, change the mode to 8-bit, do the work, then copy and paste in the original document as a layer.

  • Vertical print with photoshop CS5

    Hello

I have problems with vertical print in photoshop CS5 on Mac.

If I try to print vertical, the page comes out of the printer with the printed horizontal vertical print (with no printed up and down vertical page and the image printed on the page in the horizontal middle)

When I print landscape, all is well.

    Can anyone help?

    BR,

    Hans

Hmm, that's very interesting. Another to try hold the space bar and then print in the file menu. Failure, the next step may be a reset preference.

Win: Press and hold the keys Ctrl + Alt + Shift immediately after the launch of Photoshop starting. A box will appear asking if you want to continue with the reset, select 'yes '. If you don't see this, you're not fast enough... Try again.

Mac: Hold down Cmd + Opt + shift and run Photoshop. A box will appear, asking you if you want to continue with the reset, select 'yes '.

  • Change the resolution of 4 k in Photoshop cs5

    Hey

I used photoshop cs5 on my old laptop. Now, I bought a new one with display 4 k. But now, everything is far too small to work with. Is it possible to change the resolution in cs5 as I can't find it in the Options.

    Thank you very much

    Hi Edithb,

There is no option to change the scale of the old version of the Photoshop application.  Scaling of the interface users for Windows has been added in Photoshop CC 2014.

    Try changing the screen resolution.

What operating system do you use?

  • Photoshop CS5 x 64 crash when changing the layer styles

    Hey there,

I searched and searched through the entire interweb, but almost no one seems to have never had such a problem, so I think it is the right place to ask and hope to be helped . Short version is: Photoshop CS5 (x 64) is constantly crashing when you change a layer style.

Recently, I installed my CS5 Design Premium on a new laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook AH351) and I have serious problems with Photoshop CS5. On the first run, everything was fine, and he keep like this for a while. Now every time I try to edit a layer style Photoshop crashes immediately. I did not need to change anything, just open the layer style, press OK and Photoshop has disappeared. I can work around by resetting the preferences that works until the next reboot, no matter if I change anything on the settings or not. Tried this on the initial version of the PS and the last update (12.0.4). Once I have reset settings yet, I can work again on the layer styles. Any of you have a similar problem or an allusion to what I could look at?

The Lifebook has of a decent feature which I think somehow the culprit in this case: it has an on-board graphics unit and a separate GPU (nVidia GForce GT 525 M) that can be added in on a program basis. Indeed, Photoshop recognizes and allows me to enable the OpenGL functions as well, so from there, it seems. The internal GPU cannot be disabled because connect you your monitors.

    Some data on my system:

    Fujitsu Lifebook AH531

    • Intel® Core™ i5 - 2410M
    • RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
    • 750 GB SATA HDD 5400 U/Min
    • Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 (updated)
    • NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M with 1 GB of VRAM

    Photoshop CS5 x 64

    • no plugins to use/install
    • any settings not changed, not even shortcuts

    Thanks in advance

WindowBlinds was probably to blame.  It's a bad app that changes the window settings and made generally bad things for the environment of the user interface to achieve a different look.

There may be more options for things you can do (bad) to Windows, such as the screws of the metric of the display with the software from StarDock, simply because Windows is more popular - but if you don't about frivolous things with your system it can be as clean and steady work as a Mac system , if not better.  Mac have many of their own problems.

  • Photoshop CS5 won't open once I changed discs scratch in prefs

I was working on a long document in Photoshop CS5, who has eaten too much of my main drive (to the point I had to everything and reboot a few times to clear it) when the main drive has been defined as a scratch disk. I went to preferences and changed the drive working on my secondary internal drive, where I keep all my media. Exit Photoshop to clear the cache.

When I tried to open Photoshop once again, I get a message at the beginning upward (got no program yet) say: "cannot open a file because the disk is not available. You click OK. Then another warning message: "could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is not available."

The two discs are mounted and available. Since Photoshop opens never actually I can't go and reset the drive working on my intinital settings.

Someone has an idea of what I can do to fix this?

    Thank you

    / Fred

Worse: trashing prefs to maintain ctrl-alt-shift button from Photoshop (and then using the dialog box) should allow you to open it.

  • Can no longer change in Photoshop CS5

Recently, I uninstalled Lightroom 2.7 in favor with my recently installed Lightroom 3.  I did the same thing with regard to the Photoshop CS3 unintalling aid only my installed version of Photoshop CS5.  Thus, by coincidence or otherwise, nothing works right now.  When I open LR3 pictures and go to "Edit In", Photoshop is gray and so I am unable to make any changes outside Lightroom itself.

Anyone know how I could fix this problem?  I'm at the point of total frustration with both programs and about to uninstall both of them and start all over again (which I'm afraid).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

Reinstall everything CS5. I think you can do a repair to fix the problem. When you have removed CS3 the uninstaller removed some files needed for CS5.

  • How can I change Camera raw in Photoshop CS5 to access images from a Canon Rebel T2i?

I can't open any new raw images from my Rebel T2i.  Old images raw and all jpeg images will open perfectly.  How can I solve this problem?

Support for the Canon EOS Rebel T2i has been added in Camera Raw version 6.1, and the latest Camera Raw in Photoshop CS5 plugin was ACR 6.7.1.

Here are installers for ACR 6.7.1:

Hey guys... I hit this problem this evening after having tried for several hours open Adobe PS CS5.

Photoshop worked earlier today and I did no change on my PC since re-run the PS.

    I am running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit

I have restarted my computer several times.

    I ran as administrator.

As far as I can tell he has something to do with KERNELBASE.dll

  • Mac Photoshop CS5 - Menus too Long (Yes really!)

I just bought Photoshop CS5 to stay on the path of upgrading.  I must say I am rather disappointed, the new features do not seem to work as announced and I find a few hiccups - which is the subject of the post.

In design (or review) the interface for CS5 and Adobe Camera Raw, something seems to have went wrong.

    Menu too long

Compared to CS4 two menus from Photoshop CS5 have lengthened so that they no longer fit my MacBook Pro screen - menus change and layers.  Thus, the lower part of the menu is the bottom of the screen (or the top, if you're at the bottom of the menu).  Now, it is true that the Edit menu has two more elements (32 instead of 30) but the menu layers has the same number (29 items). In CS5, all menu text elements are more widely vertically spacing leader (no pun not intended) to this problem on a MacBook Pro.

    Photoshop CS5 – Disappearing Menus.png

CS4 menus were perfectly legible before so why do it?  What does do?  Someone at Adobe test this?  (obviously not).

    ACR, disappearing in the Dock

And with the help of Adobe Camera Raw has a similar problem to what him disappears from the window of the cab in the Dock at the bottom of the screen.  Now, I read Jeff Schewe's response to this in another post where he seems to think that those who use the dock are somehow the retards (I'm exaggerating to make a point) but, Jeff, some of us like the Dock and find its presence at the bottom of our screens, reassuring and helpful.  BTW, Jeff, removing the Dock does not help the problem of menu CS5.  Seems to be a sloppy design.

What would be best would be to ensure that interfaces scale fits on our screens, isn't it?

BTW, my MacBook Pro screen resolution is defined as recommended.

Having felt that I was forced to upgrade early and expensive by Adobe to stay on the way to upgrade is it not unreasonable to expect better?  It would be also nice to receive news from work as advertised (somewhat like the chek speel as you type on this new forum - which he doezn can't very well).

  • iPF8300: paper roll occurs when printing imagePROGRAF plugin in Photoshop CS5.1 x 64 on Win10

I've heard of anyone who works with a printer large format in my company, that for all the past three weeks, each time he tried to print something using the function to export (to the imagePROGRAF plugin), the printer keeps conducted the paper until it reaches the end.

This problem occurred several weeks after the upgrade to Windows 10 of Windows 7, but we do not suspect that it is the cause; In addition, it may be relevant that the computer used to control the printer was just selected for the anniversary update that has been installed on a day ago (well after our problems started), but we have not yet determined if the update of the anniversary has solved our problems. I was told to post a request for help anyway.

The problem does not occur when you print using the print dialog box (which is less efficient in time), native and it does not occur when you print the Test Page Windows printer; for this reason, we believe, and our supplier (ARC Document Solutions) has suggested, that the problem is with the imagePROGRAF plugin. The latest version of the plugin that works with Photoshop CS5.1 5.21, which is no longer available Cannon us site but is available elsewhere. So far, we have tried only the 64-bit of the plugin with Photoshop version, although I have installed the plugin from 32-bit to 32-bit Photoshop.

I also installed each utility available for the iPF8300, including a utility to update media types, who has been able to do it for the printer driver, but not for the control panel of the printer. The driver itself is the latest version 4.31. I'm not regularly at the place where printing is done, so I did not change some parameters in the plugin imagePROGRAF which might need to be changed (in particular with regard to the paper), especially since I tried to uninstall completely all Adobe Creative Suite programs and all programs focus on the Canon, then running CCleaner to remove all traces of these programs and re - install CS5.5 Design Standard and the iPF8300 drivers and utilities.

It turns out that "without space upstairs or downstairs (document to keep)" under Options Roll is exactly what we needed, as I learned when I called Canon support line. (Maybe this box exists because some people simply print very long images on whole rolls of paper?)
