Photoshop CS6 image size

I've recently updated the camera raw in photoshop cs6 and now when I open an image is smaller then it used to be.  Is there a setting somewhere that this affects?

Tom

Hi geyer2156

Greetings!

You must be viewing the image in a smaller zoom level

Select Fit view from the lower left corner.

Check also under about > Plugin if camera raw version is updated to 9.1.1

Let us know if this helps

  • Photoshop CS6: image is too large when cut and pasted on a new file window.  I'm cut a picture of 2 x 3 on a new file, and it reads like 8 x 11 or more. How

Photoshop CS6: I cut and paste a small part (2 x 3 inches) of an image on another new file window (8 x 11).  The transferred image appears huge. If I reduce the size, the whole image and reduced background, not only the image. How can I keep the image of 2 x 3 and keep the size of the canvas of 8 x 11?

    Thank you

    The transferred image appears huge

Caircraft are 2 x 3 image is higher resolution than your 8 x 11 file.

Change the resolution of the 2 x 3 to match you res 8 x 11 before you copy it to the new file or

Choose this layer in the copied file and then edit > transform > scale. Be sure to hold the SHIFT key while you move the handles to angle to maintain the proportion.

If your copied file appears even more of your 8 x 11, see angle of the scale handles, press Cmd + 0 (which is zero) to display the handles

It seems to be related to the DPI value used. For example if I set width width 7.5 "and 4,625 in height and the other document new values 200, 400 or 600 dpi following. In the image size dialog box I see 7.5 "of 4,625. • PSD Photoshop CS6 file sizes vs TIFF

I know that there are many threads there with regard to the advantages/disadvantages of savings in the PSD or TIF, but for the time being, I am still confused on some things and embarking on an exercise where I'll be editing or reissue a lot of images - that is why, I would like to do things the first time if I can.

My immediate question is if anyone can shed some light on the reason why an image that I save as TIF is 395 MB (in the Finder) - and the same image saved as PSD with no other change is "55 mb.

Over the years, I've almost always saved as TIF without compression - I never saved by any form of TIF compression.  But the disparity in this case between a TIF to 395 MB file and a PSD file 55Mo tells me there is something important, I do not understand.  Reason for the question is not only the huge disparity in the size of the file, but because I am also leaning heavily toward saving all my images under PSD as I advance in my project.

My concern is I missed something in a 55 MB PSD file vs a 395 MB TIF file or PSD just that much more effective than TIF?  I have many other images that I saved as a TIF and PSD where the uncompressed TIF file is maybe bigger than the file PSD - but nothing like this one, with a gap of 55-395 MB 50pct.

Would appreciate any comments from what seems like many who are well informed on the issue of PSD vs TIF.

    Thank you

When you save a Tiff file you have much more save option.  You can save files compressed or compressed, you can choose what compression to use. You can save flattened or with layers.

Save record PSD layers and you can set the size of the file with some of your preferences for the PSD in Photoshop files.   You can disable compression and save data options for maximum compatibility for older versions of Photoshop.

PSD has a 2 GB file limit, but you can save the file larger layers using Tiff limited to 4 GB and PSB files limited by free space in other words of large file with PSB.

Some applications can read a Tiff file, but not PSD files.  Some applications that can read the Tiff file will use the tiff full composite layer. They do not support the other layers. As Lighroom does not support layers other layers that are in tiff format are not used. TIFF with other layers have efect conposit layer lightroon conversions first changes is no longer can be adjusted to layer coposite necessitated changed by an image editior.

  • CS6 image size

I've recently updated the cs6 to recognize the raw files from my new Nikon D4s.  I noticed that the size of the image is smaller than my pictures of my former medium format D300.

then I opened a picture that was taken with the D300 and noticed that the size of the image was like 9.5 x 16 and, previously, they were still 11.5 x 17.5 or so.  I'm not sure what I'm going, maybe there is a setting somewhere that changed during the upgrade.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this.

    Tom

Check the preferences of the image in Camera Raw. The resolution can be set differently. It does not really affect the size of the image, which is displayed in inches. What is important is the actual size of image pixel.

  • Shortcuts for Photoshop CS6 brush size is too slow for my work

    Hi all, need help here.

When we paint with Photoshop brushes (while seriously urgent works, especially since my boss is hunting...), we need more big brushes or to change small brushes, at such tense moment, I find the so so so slow [] shortcut and I can only click on the [] as hard as possible, I quietly shouting "come." faster... »

So, is there a way to double or triple the speed?

    Thank you

Instead of using the range keys, you use could the shortcuts below to change the size of the brush much faster.

    Windows

ALT + right click, drag to the left or right

    Mac

CTRL + Option + drag to the left or right

It of the shortcuts above with any of the paint tools and drag left or right in the area of document

Drag upward or down to change the hardness

  • "Image size" Lightroom

Is there a way to Lightroom to get the same information that you would get by looking 'Image size' in Photoshop? I regularly need to get the image size (* inches *) and sometimes the PPP also for images in my library of Lightroom and open each image I need this in Photoshop to get information - it's a little tedious sometimes. I'd rather not have to save the print in the name of the file size and they did with a few images - but since filenames are important to track, I would rather mess with names. Is there a way to get the size of the image in inches in Lightroom?

Lightroom is a like Photoshop's Image Size dialog. because the original image is never changed - you can only resize when exporting. But you can see the dimensions in pixels of the image in the library, under option when it is set by default.

Divide the pixel dimensions with the ppi that you plan to use, and the result is the size in inches.

Note that the physical dimensions are not a property of a digital image - there only of the pixel dimensions.

PPI, which is metadata, is used by printer drivers to calculate print size.

So when you resize an image in Photoshop and set the size in inches, Photoshop done the math for you and you gives the impression that it works with the thumbs, but all calculations are made using the dimensions in pixels and ppi.

    Hello

Files that you are not able to print correctly.

    Try this out.

    • Press and hold the SPACEBAR button before you click on file > print

And then try to print and verify that you get the same result.

  • Photoshop CS6: Change the default resolution for the 'Document size' in the Image Size dialog box?

I have a Canon EOS 40 d, Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Bridge CS6.  I shot everything in RAW.

When it's time to change the images, I start by opening in RAW using Adobe Bridge.  When I finished to make adjustments, I click the button open an Image that contains the image to Photoshop.  When I put them to the top of the dialog box size of the Image, the size of the Document is still 240 DPI.

Is it possible to change this default?  If so, how?

Click on the text in blue at the bottom of the Camera raw window and change the ppi there.

  • Can't find the preview in the size of the image window in photoshop cs6

Hey guys, I have photoshop cs6, when I go to the size of the image I see no dialog box size image of the pixel dimensions and the size of the document, but I can't see the photo 'window preview', how can I show it?

Your reference, with the preview image size dialog box, is a new feature from photoshop cc and not photoshop cs6.

  • Photoshop CS6 opens not correct file size

I use Photoshop CS6 on an iMac el capitan. When I try to open an existing document (JPG or PSD any type) it opens using 100%, but it is smaller than the actual size of the file. When I click on the size of the image, he says it's the right size, but the image is so low at 100%. When I create a new document, say too much, I type in 1,000 x 1 000 pixels 300 DPI and click ok, the image comes out to about 400 pixels. It started just, maybe it's a bug in the new update. I really, really want to get a new version of photoshop, it has worked very well so far.

.. to help clarify, first of all we will replace the term DPI (dots per inch) for PPP (pixels per inch)

When PS displays an image at 100%, it means that there is 1 pixel of the image for each pixel of the screen for your screen resolution (number of pixels per inch). For example, for an image that is 1 000 pixels pixels x 1,000 to 300 ppi or pixels of 1 000 pixels x 1,000 at 150ppi, displays the image at the same size on your screen. It is because it is suitable that the pixels on your screen resolution.

It's just Math... If you have one in 27 iMac 5 k retina display, according to the table below this broad picture of 1, 000pixel would be 1 000 pixels / 218 (screen resolution) = 4.59 inches wide on your screen when displayed at 100%.

Device Resolution Density of pixels (ppi)
    iPad with Retina display 2 048 x 1 536 264
    MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display 2 560 x 1 600 232
    MacBook Pro 15 inch with Retina display 2 880 x 1 800 226
    iMac 27-inch with 5 K Retina Display 5 120 x 2 880 218
