Photoshop CS6 (vs 13.0.1) severely pixelated images

I have an iMac, running OS X Yosemite 10.0.1.   Almost everytime I open all the files (RAW or Jpeg) I get severely pixelated images. I'm the Bridge ACR to Photoshop or Photoshop browser. It is intermittent. But very often.  I can close the file and open it and sometimes it's just perfectly fine and sometimes it happens again.  Any advice would be great.  I keep all my images on an external hard drive.  I have 8 GB of RAM. All programs uptp date.

Or, more likely, it's just the known bugs of video driver in MacOS 10.10.

Apple is aware of the video driver bugs and work on a solution.

Until Apple can release a solution, you can disable the GPU of drawing in Photoshop preferences and restart the application.

If you really need the GPU features in Photoshop, you can consider downgrading to a more stable version of MacOS.

  • Difference in brightness between 4.1 Lightroom & Photoshop CS6

    Hello

I notice a difference in brightness between 4.1 Lightroom and Photoshop CS6.

When I open an image from Lightroom to Photoshop in law and by selecting "Edit in Photoshop", Photoshop displays the much lighter image.

To test things, I tried to open an image in Lightroom to Photoshop, without adjustment of all colors in Photoshop. Once registered, I went back to Lightroom and noticed that the colours were the same as the original in Lightroom. If Photoshop does not change the colour, it displays only the very brightest on my PC. And only in Photoshop, the default Windows Photoviewer displays images with the same brightness as Lightroom.

No idea what to do? Thanks in advance!

    Dennis

So thank you, out there in the advanced controls, it is an option 'engine' under "Conversion Options", that has been set by default to 'Adobe ACE. To test, I tried to change to "Microsoft ICM", which solved the problem. Images are the same today. But I want this option is Microsoft ICM? And why is it solved now? You have an idea? I mean, in the past on another computer, I assume that the machine has been set to 'Adobe ACE', and it did not cause these issues of difference in brightness.

Hmm, it's actually a very good sign that your display profile is borked. Lightroom uses the same Adobe ACE Photoshop uses under the hood, but it is much more picky than Photoshop on the profile for a reason that I was not able to understand. Photoshop will always try to use it and sometimes give you erroneous results. The fact that the Microsoft ICM (who must generally be of poorer quality to Adobe) worked makes me think you have a display with a screwed v4 icc profile make of intent. Those that are common in the automatically installed monitor drivers. You should check if there is a profile associated with the parser in your display properties and if so, remove it. It is possible that you do not really use sRGB as a monitor profile. Of course, the better the calibrate.

  • Photoshop CS6 resize the dialog box showing centimeters instead of inches when leaders are set to pixels

Hello I have a problem with photoshop CS6 who is using my business. When I leaders set pixels in the preferences of my resize dialog box sets the document size centimeters. It also sets new records when the default value of centimeters. I need to know how to solve this problem. Should not act that way. I'm including screenshots of the questions.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-27 at 3.59.07 PM.png

It's preferences where leaders are defined in pixels.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-27 at 4.00.53 PM.png

This is the screenshot of a new document, set the default size of photoshop. As you can see instead of having the height/width and resolution set to inches centimeters by default for some reason any.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-27 at 3.58.50 PM.png

And here's the image size dialog box. It back the same as the new Document dialog box. It defines the size of the Document in centimeters, even if the resolution is in Pixels/inch.

It's frustrating and I don't know why this is happening. I could use some help.

Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 running on a Mac Pro mid 2012

Processor: 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

Memory: 16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! First of all thanks for the screenshots and a system of care.   You have done this a lot easier for me and after looking at my Mac, (Yosemite and CC 2014), I think I have a lead.

There are two ways to solve this

In the units and leaders, it is best to stay with the thumbs in the preferences.

You can set leaders apart to Pixels by right-clicking them, choose only the desired unit and that will stick. It won't change if it's a new document or a more recently opened.

The image size is a "sticky". Once you set in inches, he stayed.

Then there's the language settings. This could be a problem.

There are a few varieties of English: North American and International or the United Kingdom.

My North American English definition defines the default units in inches.  Assignment the default International or the United Kingdom, the metric system

The fix is North American selection in preferences and restarting. If you have Creative clouds you can install North American, or do a reinstall and select if you have a license permanent.

  • Version of Photoshop CS6 vs CC?

    Hello.

I recently did a big enough picture for a famous photographer job here in Sweden. I needed to do at home (from my personal computer) and then downloaded the file of my employers network of readers.

In my PC, I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended, and at the office, I use Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud.

After the big job that I uploaded once more images to employers networking readers. And now when I'm going to make some minor adjustments to the desktop (using Photoshop Creative cloud), it says that...

"Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.

Really? How could the file PSD of the previous version will NOT be compatible with Photoshop Creative Cloud?

Are there ways to convert this file or fix it somehow compatibility so that the file Photoshop CS6 and CC works?

There is a bug when using specific settings and / or dynamic objects in the latest version of CC. It happens even with files created it. If you are looking for in the forums, you can find several messages referring to similar questions. Try saving the CS6 file again, maybe the pixelation, all these junk and flatten the layers.

  • Printing from Photoshop CS6 on 5520 and B110 - something wrong

There is something wrong with the way that my printer HP - 5520 and B110 - print from Photoshop CS6.

It's like he's still the impression of 'high quality' rather than 'rough', with several passages for each line.  It's the same on the 5520 and B110.

I use the Mavericks with the 4.2.4 drivers.

I know it's HP and Photoshop as if I take the same file and print from Illustrator CS6 it works OK and prints quickly.  Also, if I print the same Photoshop file on my Epson printer, it prints as quickly.

    Help?

    Hello imacken.

I understand your concerns. Since we are a forum based community, we try to answer as soon as possible. I'm sorry that nobody has answered this post.

If I understand you correctly, you declare that whenever you print a file using the program Photoshop CS6, you will notice that it takes a while to print using your HP printers?

In addition, you can change the settings on your computer of the Mavericks. Please follow this document from HP on the Advanced color management. You should be able to change the type of quality by reference to this document.

How these printers are connected? USB or wireless.

Once I have this information, I can help you further.

  • The value of jpg to open in photoshop CS6

I'm trying to open in my newly installed Photoshop CS6 when you navigate in Explorer to jpg.
I tried to go to the "set Associations", and does not appear in the 'recommended' or 'Other' programs Photoshop and when I hit the button 'Browse... "I can choose to Photoshop but it does not always show in the 'Open with' window, so only selects for use. The same thing happens if I click with the right button on a JPG file and select 'open with '. I can search and select Photoshop, but after I clicked "Open" it does not add Photoshop to the list and does not open in Photoshop.
I have tried with several JPG files, can open the file in the photoshop program and had photoshop to set as default, when I got CS3. How can I get it work?

Found a fix - if anyone else has this problem:

Problem: Photoshop CS6 is not an option as default program for jpg/jpeg in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Not even when you navigate to the program.

Solution: If you pin a jpg from your desktop into ch you then right-click on the jpg file and define the program by default Photoshop CS6.*
When you click and drag the file down to the icon of the Ps. place the cursor on the icon of the Ps and gives you the opportunity to pin the Photoshop file via the suspicion of the tool. When you see this option, release. If you right-click on the Ps icon you will see a list of recent items and your pinned file should be at the top.

This patch brings photoshop in the "other programs" list so that you can now activate other files open in Photoshop as well.

Note *: it is also the solution if you have a similar problem with using "Open in external editor" InDesign and the jpg/jpeg opens in one program other than photoshop. PIN just a jpg in photoshop.

  • Photoshop CS6 install via creative cloud problem

    Hello

I've just been migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 via a new installation. I'm now trying to reinstall all my applications. The Applications Cloud creative installed fine, but I have a problem with the CS6 applications. I downloaded the files from the Adobe site and settle down with key license and entered my product ley. The installation worked OK, but I have problems to install the updates. Photoshop CS6 update to version kept 13.0.1.2 default, the file journal has proposed corrupted files and proposed a new installation. After well the loop several times I would Photoshop version 13.0.1.2. However, I can't get more recent updates. I thought that it was a newer version for Photoshop CS6 exit but in Creative Cloud application if I click on the gear icon and select check for app updates it says that all are up-to-date. I have a similar problem with InDesign and Illustrator.

Can anyone confirm what are the latestCS6 versions: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator please? For example if Photoshop CS6 is greater than the version 13.0.1.2 ideas how to install the latest update?

You can not creativity cloud broke my 13.0.1.3 CS6 perpetual version after some time after installing CC I wanted to keep CS6 13.0.1.3 but creative cloud eventually broke and it would not update correctly he showed the 130 version and was broken.  I installed CS6 version 13.0 during installation broken by using a stand-alone CS6 downloaded installer and creative cloud Office was able to update CS6 13.1.2

  • Photoshop CS6 vs cc of Photoshop for video

It is a pre-sales question.  I use cc Premiere Pro to my video editing.  However I found Photoshop CC very useful for some purposes than Premiere Pro

simply cannot do.  (For example using art filters to sharpen the images).  My question is to know if Photoshop CC provides all the relevant video features that Photoshop CS6 does not.  I can get CS6 to what would be an economy long term on CC.  I would just sign up for Photoshop CC if there were significant improvements.  I went through all the pages 'what's new' for Photoshop CC and see almost nothing relating to the video.  It's as if Adobe put the video function in CS6 and only stopped working on it.  I assume that an answer to this question would be sufficient if anyone could tell me what happened again in the use of dynamic objects in CC to the CS6.

A separate issue considers using the functions change video pixel.  I know that you can not directly, but you can do: 1. separate on a frame of video and pixilation.

2 clone or make any brush tool you want in the frame.  3. convert the image to a smart object.  4. create a dynamic object that is separate from the rest of the video. 5 link smart objects.  Be the change made in the separate framework appear in the linked video?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions.

Dynamic objects are just containers. The have no logical connection to other layers or smart objects, so no, any change must always be done by organizing your stack of layers accordingly and splicing distinct points on the timeline. The rest is quite as much as you yourself - described already zero movement in the video Department, but what is it again? Adobe knows not what to do with all this pasted on video and 3D stuff, it is not particularly good and relevant for most people...

  • Impossible to update Photoshop CS6

I'm subscribed to Photoshop/Lightroom CC. I also have Photoshop CS6 I bought previously. In my desktop app CC told me to update CS6. Whenever I try it fails to update. I tried troubleshooting of the error U441P7 several times but nothing I try seems to work.

U441P7 error code just means that the update failed.  I'd be inclined to download update files and install manually.

  • Photoshop CS6 opens not correct file size

I use Photoshop CS6 on an iMac el capitan. When I try to open an existing document (JPG or PSD any type) it opens using 100%, but it is smaller than the actual size of the file. When I click on the size of the image, he says it's the right size, but the image is so low at 100%. When I create a new document, say too much, I type in 1,000 x 1 000 pixels 300 DPI and click ok, the image comes out to about 400 pixels. It started just, maybe it's a bug in the new update. I really, really want to get a new version of photoshop, it has worked very well so far.

.. to help clarify, first of all we will replace the term DPI (dots per inch) for PPP (pixels per inch)

When PS displays an image at 100%, it means that there is 1 pixel of the image for each pixel of the screen for your screen resolution (number of pixels per inch). For example, for an image that is 1 000 pixels pixels x 1,000 to 300 ppi or pixels of 1 000 pixels x 1,000 at 150ppi, displays the image at the same size on your screen. It is because it is suitable that the pixels on your screen resolution.

It's just Math... If you have one in 27 iMac 5 k retina display, according to the table below this broad picture of 1, 000pixel would be 1 000 pixels / 218 (screen resolution) = 4.59 inches wide on your screen when displayed at 100%.

Device Resolution Density of pixels (ppi)
    iPad with Retina display 2 048 x 1 536 264
    MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display 2 560 x 1 600 232
    MacBook Pro 15 inch with Retina display 2 880 x 1 800 226
    iMac 27-inch with 5 K Retina Display 5 120 x 2 880 218

The price of the student for an outdated old CS6 extended would probably be several hundred Dollars.  The price of the student for the creative photographer of Cloud subscription is the same as the normal price of this subscription of $10 per month. • Adobe Photoshop CS6 (x 64) crashes on print

After that we have changed the default printer, Adobe Photoshop CS6 (x 64) crashes when you click the button print. The x 86 cs6 works very well.

The only workaround so far is to create a new file and copy all its contents too avoid the accident involving the last printer in PSD. Or alternatively, you can open the file in x 86 CS6. But this isn't a solution when you have thousands of old files of several users who constantly crash.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Reset the Photoshop preferences.

See How to backup Photoshop settings like a Pro: the Pro Photo Show to backup settings

See Preferences in Photoshop to reset the preferences.
