  Yes, it's something I do so: I add my own signature before the binary data (a 4-byte integer that can interpret that my plugin).

  I did it because I found (maybe I'm wrong) that you need all consecutive ID numbers of 4000 and more. So, if encode you your metadata a specifiic (say 4005) identification number, you must add dummy data to the 4000-4004 (slightly inconvenient) ids hoped to retrieve. I always add data with id 4000 and more (no matter what they are) and I use my own 4-byte signature to tell it what is that when I read it back. I use Photoshop as a dummy container.

  Also, (I'm wrong again) from my experience, Photoshop does not return the name of the data field. Don't know why, but it never worked for me. So that's another reason to add your own signature to your binary data.

  Figures that newest version of PS work well with nvidia gt 630 m, perhaps, it has not been tested at all.

  He can hardly qualified as a solution but now Photoshop sees my gpu at least.

  The answer to your question depends entirely on what camera Canon photo come from your CR2 files.

  CR2 is the file used by Canon Camera Raw owner format. CR2 files are different for each camera model which is Canon. As a result, Adobe has update the mounting bracket in the Camera Raw plugin whenever camera manufacturers release a new model of camera.

  It seems to work for my purpose when I tried to record a test file in creative Cloud files storage.

  Make sure that the local storage is allocated on your machine for this network place like Creative Cloud Files folder of creative cloud storage.

  Suggest you go to the file menu > open recent item > clear recent files list > restart Photoshop and then check out.
