Photoshop elements Editor to stop opening preferences

I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 (with the 5.0.2 update installed) on Windows 7 and for some time I could on it to open it, I have to click on the shortcut and open the start window thing (the thing with patents and "registered to...") ("etc), but he would always stop responding when he arrived at the"Scanning for presets. I found the solution to this problem on another thread, which was to delete the preferences file in the Photoshop files. After having done that, I can open the Editor again and it works perfectly right up until I have stop working, so the next time I try to open the editor, I get the same problem, that can always be fixed temporarily by removing the preferences - so basially file I know that the problem is with preferences.

I know I could just delete the preferences file whenever I wanted to use Photoshop and it would not be a minor irritance, but ideally I'd like to fix it properly. Someone at - it ideas?

Instead of simply delete the Preferences file itself you can try to delete the folder that says the editor.

As I mentioned above, items 9 test had been working well.  I did several updates to my system.  I can't be sure of the timeline of 100%, but I think that most were made at the time that I was testing the items 9 and did not affect items 9.

I'm pretty sure that there were a number of updates that have been made after my last clean run of items 9 and before that I installed 10 elements, namely windows 7 sp1 and various updates, but I managed to install the trial version on a laptop computer with the same operating system and the same updates.

I think I solved this problem.  I doubt, it is a very common problem, but I'll post details in case it can help someone else.

I tried a lot of things among those who have been

    1. suggestion of photodrawken above
    2. stop almost all but the basic processes
    3. boot in diagnostic mode

    None helped.

I tended to think it was related video somehow.  As you can see from my original post that I have 2 video 'maps' one is integrated into the motherboard (ATI HD 4200), the other is a map of pci-e AMD/ATI HD 6770 discreet. I use these 2 cards for 4 monitors.  I decided to try several experiments.

    1. rolled back the driver to an older driver (April 2011 - not sure of the version) - in fact, it "seemed" to work (a bit) and was my first clue that I was on the right track.  As I said, it "seemed" to work, however, after a reboot, the problem was back
    2. update the driver through the automated search also basically had the same result - it 'seemed' to work, but the problem was back again after a reboot
    3. deactivation of card HD 6770 in Device Manager also seemed to work. and when I re-enabled it the problem returns.
    4. deactivation of the integrated HD 4200 has seemed to work so However in contrast to the reactivation of the HD 6770, the problem has not re - turn when I reactivated the HD 4200 My view of this was that, if the HD4200 was the last to be initialized, then I was OK.

I was almost going to use this as a workaround, but I remembered that I had messed with some bios setting just before I replace my discreet previous card (series HD 3200) with the HD 6770. In order to convince me that I "needed" a new 3D map, I am tired of my old configuration running in what was supposed to be the optimal configuration for Hybrid CrossFire ATIs configuration, which was to set the bios to initialze onboard first video and I think that disable "surround the view."

When I went back into the bios and set up such as discreet card initialized first and re-activated "surround view" (with it the HD 4200 integrated does not seem to start at all), which seems to fix the problem.

So, as I said it is probably a rare problem, but if someone has multiple video cards and knows crashes at the start of the photoshop elements Editor, you should try making sure that your discreet card starts first, and your integrated card last.  The last piece of the puzzle, it's that I had run like this (pci-e card starts first, surround mode enabled) when I was testing photoshop elements 9.

I hope this will help someone else with the same question.

    Greetings - nPn

Hi, I bought Photoshop Elements editor 10 on ITunes/App store. Where can I find the serial number?

Where exactly did you buy it? Up to now, I know Adobe did not create a version of Photoshop Elements for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) devices, their iOS application is called Adobe Photoshop Express.

If you bought it from the Mac App Store for your Mac (version 13 is the current version, 10 is interrupted), so you do not receive a serial number: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/purchases-mac-app-store-faq.html

  • Photoshop Element editor 12 does not start

A few days ago I installed Photoshop elements 12. It worked fine, but today I decided to re - roll my system to the version before the installation of PES. After you have reinstalled PSE12 I could not launch editor - Organizer works very well.

The editor does not start if I try to opent it directly from file .exe, organizer or home screen. In task Photoshop elements editor program manager is displayed for a few seconds, later PDapp.exe appears and nothing happens.

I tried to reinstall the program by removing all records (also the "AppData" folder) but it did not help.

    No idea how to fix?

I decided to restore the system because of a few short weird hang-ups (1-3 sec.). They began after last windows installation updated.

I use Win 7. I tried normal normal uninstall.

Finally, I deleted some folders in CommonFiles/Adobe connected with PSE12 and with the license and then Manager after reinstallation of PSE, I need to connect to my Adobe account and everything works fine now.

  • Photoshop elements 13 will not open in Mac

I downloaded Photoshop elements since the Mac App store 13. It worked fine for two weeks, but now I can't open, even if I re-uploaded. When I click on the Photo or Video Editor editing in the PE13 homescreen, I get this message box: "Please do not run this application from this application package. On the other hand, it please run Adobe Photoshop elements 13... from your Applications folder. "But when I launch it from the applications folder I get the same message, and I can not open editing Photo or Video Editor. (Organizer opens, however.) Any ideas?

    Photoshop and elements 13

    Work in iPhoto

You want to change the image using photoshop elements

    Did the following

    1. IPhoto > Preferences > advanced > edit Photos: in the menu dropdown selected in Photoshop Elements
    2. Also control click on and chose edit in external editor
    3. List drop-down menu edit in the external program photos > photoshop Elements
    4. Go to the image, I work - is selected the image, the user has clicked on change. When nothing happened, I double click on the image. Elements has not opened yet. Then I opened the item editor, returned to iphoto and tried again the whole process. the photo has not yet opened the 13 elements for editing.
    5. I have 3 elements 13 books as well as watched online - all my references say exactly the same thing--iPhoto > Preferences > advanced > change in the external program > photoshop Elements
    6. I uninstalled and reinstalled both iPhoto as well as elements.

I spoke with the technical support of application.  It seems that nothing wrong with my copy of iPhoto.  However there is no Adobe support.  I waited more than 1.5 hours for chat support several days ago and eventually abandoned.

You are probably choose the manifest file and the correct file like PES Editor. The current editor is hidden inside the Support files folder. The PSE file at the top level of the PES in the Applications folder is simply an alias for the Welcome screen and what you describe is exactly what is happening when you who choose.
