Physical cards VSS with multiple virtual local network settings

I intend to make my hosts vsphere to run virtual machines located on several VLANs. I know that in the world of physical switch, I do uplink switchport trunk and value rising swich as trunk so I can receive the traffic of multiple VLANs. But I don't know where to put uplink physical way of trunk cards. I can only define vmnetwork as trunk (vlan id 4095). How can I reach my goal? Just create several VMNetwork with the id vlan that I wan to accommodate and make virtual machines to connect to these VMNetwork? No parameters in layer vss physical map?

That is right. VLAN tagging is controlled at group and vmkernel port level. You don't have to set anything on the uplink.

  • vCenter standard vSwitch trade + different VIRTUAL local network settings

    Hello

In vCenter Standard vSwitches, vCenter allows, the same standard name exchanges on different ESX hosts on different VLANS. It is considered to be a bad configuration? Or is it not seen? (Or better yet, can there be real use cases?) Because eventually the traffic would not pass by with this configuration of vlan different, even if the exchanges have the same name for them.

    For example:

    ESX1 - vswitch1 - MYportgroup (vlan5)

    ESX2 - vswitch2 - MYportgroup (vlan10)

In distributed vSwitches, we have this problem, since it will be a unique portgroup for all the esx servers.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed light on this issue.

Certainly a use case of vDS in a production system, where this problem would not be a problem. Think about it, however, there might be something useful in a test environment, where you may need to test the configurations or to connect to different parts of the network on a machine virtual 'utility '... If NIC of the virtual machine is configured to use DHCP, the IP configuration could be changed automatically when it moves on different VLANS, etc... It might be useful when you have a network configuration where you had to plug some VLAN specific to specific hosts. Then by simply vMotioning fast virtual machine to another host, you can dynamically change its location on the network.

Certainly, I would say that it is not a best practice for a production environment, although...

  • The local network settings for arbitrarily lose connectivity with ADSL modem

    Hi all

I have a SAGEM 1500WG ADSL modem for internet connection and a laptop Satellite A100 (PSAA9). I noticed that arbitrarily, the ALARM led on the modem of DSL connection worked again (according to the lights on the modem) and the real problem was that I couldn't ping my modem. The problem was inside my local network. I can't be sure that what happened outside my LAN because I could not reach even the modem.

The only solution is to reset the modem. After 4-5 months of use, I have concluded that, whenever this was happening, I used Azureus to download a movie and this download was pretty slow (for example because my counterpart have fast connection). Also, I was connected with wire and NOT using the modem wireless. This means that: the problem never appeared when the wireless or Azureus works and download a significant amount of data.

I wonder if the LAN driver has any firewall installed on it. Or if she has any function that transforms the power driver LAN offshore when there are very few or no data go through it for a certain period of time.

Or East-Azureus has any odd décor that reminds you of something above?
The combination I think is problematic is "adapter LAN + Azureus work + very little data being downloaded. Maybe I'm a little confused. Anyone who has experienced the same problem or can come up with an idea will be extremely useful.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Don t think that there is a problem with the LAN settings or the LAN driver on the device!
Your data transmission to low and transfer depends on your service provider Internet (ISP) and the server.
Your Azureus application does not for me, but in my easy it s a transfer of connection and the data of the software simply PEAR-pear file also depends on the number of users and the connected clients

  • Dreamweaver won't save site local/network settings

    MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.2

    Dreamweaver CS6 version 12 build 5808

1st site definition: I want to test files locally, then 'put' on my test server.

2 definition of the site: I want to take the file from my local folder and "put" it on my production server.

I set up the 2drives on the Mac... my test server and my live server.  Readers were mounted on different mount points so that they do not overwrite each other.

I go in Dreamweaver and select "manage sites". I go to my local folder for the first screen... the next wants to screen (Server tab) the path to the test server.  I have on the correct server (verified!) and click on "choose".  The path indicated in the box in the "Server" active tab is correct... BUT when I click on 'save', CHANGES in path to my production server.

Absolutely, it will NOT save the information that I've specified.  I connect to my server via local/network.

I renamed dreamweaver Pref files and deleted the contents of the cache site...

Nearly an hour on the phone with Adobe, as well as the tech told me that they were not trained to help with local/network configurations.  What is interesting is the fact that when I navigate on my test server to "manage sites", I can see my files, expand my folders, etc.  It is not a question-Dreamweaver just will not save the information that I enter the permissions.

Would appreciate any help I can get on that...

Nancy, I appreciate your time, but it looks like we have found something that will work for us...

OS X doesn't seem to know what to do with mounted drives, if they have the same name.  For example:

    IP: 192.xxx.xxx.22\MyServer

    and

    IP: 192.xxx.xxx.23\MyServer

When they are mounted, even with different IP addys and different mount points, OS X only 'sees' the share name and seems not to take into account the mapping on the part of Awesome!

Re-appointing one of the network shares was NOT an option and the option Alias on OS X help not at all... OS X sees that the name of sharing, even when the Alias is well... renamed as an alias... go figure!

Since we were unable to find a way to solve this problem of OS X, we ended up creating a second network share for the target folder, using a different name.  Problem solved.

  • Multiple virtual private networks - one Interface

    Hello

I read up on top of the site to create using IPSEC VPN. My question is, if I have a router dedictaed "VPN" in the same place, say the external interface is F0/0. I want to configure different VPN for this site to some remote sites using this router, but I want to be able to each of these VPN connections have got it of own interface, fo the goal, routing some subnets over a VPN connection and routing another subnet on the other VPN sites.

So Hub site, I have an outside interface, but need IPSEC VPN multi-site spoke and each site to have an interface I can route traffic through... If that makes sense?

    Thank you

I fear that your post, as written makes no sense to me. You start by saying you have a router with an outside interface. Then, you say that you need more than one interface. On the surface that seems to indicate you need to get a different router which will have several available for VPN interfaces.

Maybe if stress you less the need for multiple interfaces and explain a bit more about what you really need that it would be a way to accomplish what you need with the existing router.

I'll start with what seems to indicate that with an interface of the router would have a card encryption. But a card encryption can have multiple instances of cryptographic definitions it contains with a single instance for each remote peer. So, for example, you could have crypto match GRANT_map 10 of peers A and GRANT_map 20 for homologous B and 30 GRANT_map for C counterpart. Within each instance of the encryption card you would identify a single access list to identify traffic to destination each peer. It might look like this:

    map GRANT_map 10 ipsec-isakmp crypto

    dieudo game address

    defined peer 1.2.3.4

    map GRANT_map 20 ipsec-isakmp crypto

    match the address peerB

    defined by the 5.6.7.8 peers

    map GRANT_map 30 ipsec-isakmp crypto

    match the address peerC

    defined by peer 9.10.11.12

    Dieudo extended IP access list

    ip licensing 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 172.16.0.0 0.0.255.255

    peerB extended IP access list

    ip licensing 10.2.2.0 0.0.0.255 172.17.0.0 0.0.255.255

    peerC extended IP access list

    IP 10.3.3.0 allow 0.0.0.255 172.18.0.0 0.0.255.255

Or maybe you can consider using the GRE with IPSec VPN tunnels. You can configure several tunnels, each source just outside of the interface, and each of them would end on a different peer. You can send some 10 to Dieudo tunnel subnets and route to other subnets of tunnel 20-peerB and route to other subnets of tunnel 30-peerC. This kind of solution might meet your requirements.

  • Blocks VIRTUAL local network access to a tunnel VPN IPSec on WRV200?

I have two identical WRV200 wireless routers which are connected by a VPN IPSec tunnel.  This goes to my LAN LAN of my parents.  Everything works well.

But I also have my WRV200 configured for two VLANS.  Vlan1 for my network and secure wireless access.  VLAN2 for a WiFi not secure for customers.

My problem is that my guest on VLAN2 slips through the VPN devices and access on LAN of my parents.  I'm looking for a way to block to do this.

I use the version of the software on the two routers (v1.0.39).

For what it's worth, I know that my receive an IP address in the range 192.168.x.101 DHCP - 199.  I could assign a different range if that helps.  I thought that I could block this beach on the remote router firewall, but I see there is blocking a single IP address at the time, maximum of 8.  Am I missing something?

Or could I put something weird in the routing tables somewhere to get the IPs guest out of lala land?

Any suggestions are appreciated.  I can't be the only one in this boat.

    Steve

Try to check local and remote, vpn under safe group settings if you change the ip address range subnet. Don't include the range of ip addresses of the computers wireless comments so that it will not pass through the vpn tunnel. If there is no ip range option, you must to the subnet of the network in order to control the ip address you want to allow on the vpn tunnel.

  • How to save virtual local network printers

Hi there again on the forum but just need help on ePrint Setup, I have a HP M4555 mfp that is set on a separate VIRTUAL LAN. Tried using the gateways as proxy server, but also does not connect. Please help

    Hi Johnny,.

Because you have a printer of type Enterprise, you can find better coverage by posting your request at the Business Support Forums.

In general, this proxy error message means that the printer cannot connect to our server ePrint on your network.

You said that your network may not have a proxy server.  Since it is network related, I strongly recommend that you contact your network administrator for more information about your network environment, update firmware, firewalls, switches, etc.?

Here is the support site General ePrint for your printer.

  • ESW-520-24 P has not managed the custom VIRTUAL local network traffic

    Hi all

We recently bought a switch ESW-520-24 p to replace a CE500 end-of-life.  The facility where the switch is installed has access wireless connected to the VLAN 110 points.

Course the ESW-520-24 p switch does not support VTP so none VLAN is to be propagated to it.  So I created 110 VLAN manually and ports assigned to him.  But the devices on ports communicate with anything.

All ports are configured as access with 110 ports VLAN not identified.  The uplink is the g2 port which is in binding mode.

Can someone please tell me what I can have configured wrong?

    Thank you

    -Steve

    Hi Steve,.

If it is for UC500 installation, the default configuration on the ESW is normally perfect and the switch has to be turned on.

Otherwise that looks like you have made the correct things.

I guess VLAN1 is always present on the ESW switch, but excluded by access ports...

All ports are not marked in VLAN110 except for the uplink, given that the packages of vlan tagged while waiting to switch receiver VLAN110 or unmarked packages?  (something to think quickly)

But the result is if you are still in a stalemate, why not call the Small Business Support Center, the switch is probably still under warranty and telephone support.

  • New virtual local network not accessible from the vpn

Cisco ASA 5510 helps static routes.  I created a new vlan internal and added the path correct for the ASA.  Internally the vlan is fully accessible, but when I connect to the VPN I can't communicate with the systems in this regard.

The access policy dynamics and associated ACLs are fine. A system related to this policy, but not on the new VLAN is accessible through this policy.

    What Miss me?

    Hello

Please let us know what kind of tunnel are you talking about:

    1 lan to lan tunnel

    2. site of tunnel site

You must ensure that the new VLAN is part of the interesting traffic and nat is free.

Add the new vlan interesting traffic will ensure that the tunnel is trigged for the new VLAN.

Do the new vlan a part of nat exemption ensures that traffic is through the tunnel and natted not routed to internet and so lost.

Also you can check if the program and for the tunnel decaps multiply or not when you try to move traffic from the new VLAN. You can check which form the "sh cry counterpart his ips."

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    Anisha

  • New local VIRTUAL, guest network cannot Ping GW

It's driving me crazy... Added a new VIRTUAL local network we have done several times. Switches, routers and firewall to see all new VLAN and can ping GW without problem. The host can also ping the nVLAN GW, but guests cannot. However, if I add another guest to the same group of port they can ping each other (as long as they are on the same host), but nothing about the port group can ping the GW. So far, I have:

-Even once, verified full connectivity to the new VLAN between all physical devices (trunks, etherchannel, etc. are all good)

-Number checked on the port group VLAN

    -Checked host sees the VLAN

-Removed and readded vSwitch port group

    -Home charged

-Removed and readded comments nic (I tried E1000 and VMXNET3)

    -Deleted then recreated the VLAN

    Any other ideas?

Is the new VIRTUAL local area network in the list of VLANS allowed on physical switch used uplinks ports the vSwitch?

  • Unable to add the virtual machine network services

    Hello:

I already read that warning Virtual PC 2007 is not compatible with win 7-64.
However, I read that it is "unofficially" possible launch.
OK, I installed it and it worked except networking.
Basically, I need to install the Virtual Machine Network Services.
I right click on my network card-> properties-> install-> services-> virtual machine network services (VPC2007 folder: where I can see VMNetSrv.inf)
Then says Windows: it is impossible to add the requested feature. The specified service has been marked for deletion.

The problem is that I get this error even on WinXP SP3, so I think that there is something else wrong.

And of course, Virtual PC 2007 available networks are only: no connection, Local, NAT.  (Missing my physical adapter)

  • Setting up a local network private through the device that extracts public wifi internet

I travel a lot in a RV I don't have a continuous Internet connection wherever I go, usually a public wifi some Camping I am for. I have several devices that I use, but I don't want that they are open to the public wifi network. I've had people send photos from their phone to my Xbox so that I use and I want to be more secure and control my devices.

I have a knowledge of basic networking. I was able to use my laptop to connect to a public wifi and then share the connection through Windows on the LAN ethernet port. I then connect that to my old Netgear DGND3700v2 DSL model with its DHCP function disabled. It worked for several months now, and I am able to connect to the ports of my router modem and lan with my devices. But some games on the xbox does not work because I can't redirect ports or control static and other IP addresses. I think that there should be a much easier way to do it.

I looked in my router Repeater functions, but I don't think that's the way I need to go. I have no access to the routers of the campsites configure them as bases. I need something that will pull simply bind an existing wifi and then deliver this private to my LAN connection.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It worked perfectly. I bought a Netgear AC1200 and easily plugged into the local public wifi. I then wired to the LAN cable/Fiber gray on the Netgear router port and then reset the router ran smart installation thereon and he set up hands down with a new local network on a separate ip address range. Now all my devices independently connect to my router via wifi or LAN and use internet through the Extender without that person outside to get in and I don't have my laptop of aging on all the time to do so.

The OSCustomizationSpec needs to exist and must have 2 network cards.

The script finds the data store with more free space to create each virtual computer.

Addresses IP of NIC are consecutive, for example on NIC1 you get 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2... and so on.
