  • High speed USB 2.0 physical location of the port

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3122us Notebook PC. I get messages when the transfer of files on the fastest "high speed USB 2.0 port.  My user manual tells me that I have three ports, of which one is a 2.0 port but I am unable to say which is the 2.0 port. Can anyone help me find information on the location and identification of the usb ports?

    James Worthen Sr

    I just got offline with a HP tech rep and he told me that the high-speed 2.0 port was, in fact, the eSATA/USB port.

    With this port, it gives me four ports and I wouldn't imagine that it was even a USB port, as it seems slightly different rather than the usual USB ports. I pluged my Bluetooth adapter in this port and it works fine. I have not tried to transfer files with this port again, except the photos with the bluetooth, but when I do I will seek to see if I still get the same message while transferring. I doubt I would. I believe that this issue has been resolved and I will mark it as my. Thanks to all who responded.

  • Shift the AWR snapshots

    Hi, I have 11 instances on a shared server db oracle all snapshots taken at 30 minute intervals. I would like to shift the snapshots are so not all take their shots at the same time. Looking at DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY. Modify_snapshot_settings, I have only one interval setting and retention. Anyone know how I can do this?
    Thank you

    If you want to use the interval to 30 for both instances, but change that they both make these shots at the same time.
    know when the next break will happen on instance A, then parameter interval set to 0 on instance A just before
    the next snap, wait Let's say 15 minutes, the interval set again to 30.
    Do you have aprox. 15 minutes between shots on instance A and instance B, with both seen interval set to 30 minutes.
    In the interval the value 0 disables snap snapshots.

  • Get information about the physical location (serial) Visa (slot) in PXI time real (Pharlab)

    Hello

    I PXI system with controller time real (OS Pharlab) and many maps series (about 6 cards).

    The maps in the series are two different models, which each contain several (8431/8 and 8421/8) serial ports.

    And the COM Port enumeration mix and I would like to know the link between COM numbering where it is linked.

    I have already dealt with a few methods:

    1. I've tried using the node property of Visa but he cannot know which card port COM belong

    2. I tried to use the Configuration Library system and don't manage to get general information of the card and not what ports have this card.

    3 try to fill you with the VisaConf.ini, but discovers that ASRL and COM Auto-enumeration is the same.

    4. I tried to look in NISerial.ini, NISerial.dbs and NOR - RT.ini and did not find any help here.

    Application engineer or support suggest to look in the registry of the operating system Pharlab because it is windows based and material information must be stored in the registry

    Further explanation on the problem of PXI enumeration:

    PXI produce enumeration auto for the ports series (COM3, COM4, COM5...) according to the card slot, but when there is a mix of the two models of the system would then list a model (8431) from 3 to 50 (6 cards and 8 ports) and the other model (8421) 51 to 98. so if I have 8421 in 2 and 8431 slot number in the slot number 3 it would list 2nd slot COM59 to COM68 and 3rd slot COM11 to COM19.

    Why not just use NOR-MAX to manually configure the ports?

    The system is essential and can not be stopped for a long time and he operated by people who are not very technical, so the customer who wishes to be able to exchange business cards without futher configuration.

  • Change the default location of the snapshot for a virtual machine

    Hello. I found this tutorial

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1002929

    on hos to move the default location for the snapshots of a virtual computer. How ever what I don't understand is where can I covering the line in the file *.mvx, "workingDir = "new_path_location" ? I just start typing at the end of the file? The file can be edited in Notepad of windows or I should connect to the host using putty and correct it in nano, for example?

    For example, in the same document, they used

    workingDir = "/vmfs/volumes/46f1225f-552b0069-e03b-00145e808070/vm-snapshots"

    I think that " 46f1225f-552b0069-e03b-00145e808070 " is an identifier for the volume. True or not? If yes how can I list all the volumes that are mapped to the host or vCenter Server identifiers?

    Thank you!

    I think that " 46f1225f-552b0069-e03b-00145e808070 " is an identifier for the volume. True or not? Yes its unique identifier for your vmfs volumes, but its better if you provide your name of store data instead, as if your data store name is XYZ, provide/vmfs/volumes/xyz/vm-snapshot, you can do it using UUID as well but you need to type for long and its not easy to remember.

    If yes how can I list all the volumes that are mapped to the host or vCenter Server identifiers?

    using the cli

    list of esxcli storage vmfs

    using ssh console, this should provide you with all the information for the disks

    Fdisk-lu

    Another thing,

    CD vmfs/volumes /.

    LS - lah

    You can see your vmfs volumes

  • The disk identified by its ID or physical location?

    I mean, it's with the server off, I can move readers to different locations and the Raid Controller simply know what readers who are without any reconfiguration.  Reason we want to do is to separate Raid 1 + 0 conduit through SAS channels to ensure resilience if one channel fails, the layout being:

    4 disk Raid 10, S = Stripe, M = mirror, Assume the delivery of machine as:
    Location 0 - S1Ma
    Location 1 - S1Mb
    Slot 2 - S2Ma
    Location 3 - S2Mb

    To ensure the resilience we want to change that through the two SAS - A and SAS - B channels:
    Slot 0 (SAS - A) - S1Ma
    Slot 1 (SAS - A) - S2Mb
    Slot 8 SAS - B - S2Ma
    Slot machine 9 SAS - B - S1Mb

    In this way is either A - SAS or SAS - B omits the table still works.

    If realize when the server is turned off, the table will not need to be rebuild... the controller is smart enough to know the place of the reader in the table, regardless of the physical location it is attached.

    If done when the server is running, the disc will become out of sync with others and will have to be rebuilt in the table.

  • restrict the physical size of the wifi network

    Hello

    I intend to cover the building 80x80m by the amount of 1131AG APs and WLC4402 controller. But the strong demand of the customer is to physically restrain the posibilities of the long distance wifi connections (100 m and more building).

    Is there a function in wifi Cisco to drop connections incoming in case if the customer is 100 + m AP? (I mean that the power of the customer is high enough for this)

    What are the regular methods of resricting the physical size of the wifi networks?

    Thank you.

    Someone could be more than 100 meters away using a parabolic grid antenna, and the signal strength is perhaps not different from your regular users.

    You can try using the location device, but I think that even this might go a little goofy, if someone tries to spoof a MAC address.

    Hello

    When you gave "spfile" the process duplicate, then it will bring the source database settings.

    So, try the below

    Run {}

    allocate channel prmy1 type disk;

    allocate auxiliary channel stby1 type disk;

    duplicate target database for the eve of the active database

    SPFile

    parameter_value_convert 'db12c', 'db12cl '.

    Set db_file_name_convert = "db12c", "db12cl".

    Set log_file_name_convert = "db12c", "db12cl".

    Set fal_server = "db12c."

    nofilenamecheck;

  • Physical movement of the databases using Data Guard

    Hi all

    We need to move our equipment to a new physical location.

    Our production database (11.2.0.4) is replicated to another computer using dataguard (MaxAvailability mode)

    The plan was to move the machine SRD first Monday, then the database of production during the next weekend.

    Do you have an idea how to do a 'pause' the replication when the move will take place for two servers?

    We do not want to do a failover because the production should not be available over the weekend.

    Thanks in advance,

    Renaud

    Do you have an idea how to do a 'pause' the replication when the move will take place for two servers?

    There is no such method of the break, but you could defer the primary log shipping to wait.

    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = reporter; #assuming that log_archive_dest_2 on the primary it again waiting for ships

    But, you must make sure that the archives on the primary are not lost or deleted after reporter such as these are not available on standby.

    Once you 'enable' the destination deferred, Eve should automatically catch up with the primary.
