Physical size of a string?

Is it possible to find the actual size of a string?

Using java.awt.FontMetrics you can do something like that: -.

FontMetrics fm = someComponent.getFontMetrics (someFont);
width int = fm.stringWidth (someString);

Is there something similar for Blackberry?

You can use fonts getAdvance

  • Physical size and the type of disk hard drive in my XPS M1210?

    Hi, for the first time poster here. I'm about to buy a new hard drive to replace the original one in my XPS M1210. I just need to know the physical size (3.5 "? 2.5"? etc) and type (7200 rpm or something else?) of him so I don't know the correct type to buy and replace by.

    Thank you!

    The physical size of the SATA hard drive is, 9.5 MM x 2.5 ", either 5400 or 7200 RPM works perfectly.

  • restrict the physical size of the wifi network

    Hello

    I intend to cover the building 80x80m by the amount of 1131AG APs and WLC4402 controller. But the strong demand of the customer is to physically restrain the posibilities of the long distance wifi connections (100 m and more building).

    Is there a function in wifi Cisco to drop connections incoming in case if the customer is 100 + m AP? (I mean that the power of the customer is high enough for this)

    What are the regular methods of resricting the physical size of the wifi networks?

    Thank you.

    Someone could be more than 100 meters away using a parabolic grid antenna, and the signal strength is perhaps not different from your regular users.

    You can try using the location device, but I think that even this might go a little goofy, if someone tries to spoof a MAC address.

    Hello

    You are running in the CSCum51180bug. The alarm should be a warning, not criticism and should be triggered only when the physical size is greater than the actual size of more than one gigabyte (in your case, the difference is very small, 1.5 vs 1.48).

    The fix must be present on a future update.

  • Impression of prototype RETNA iPad to 100% of the physical size

    Someone has some practical tips for Illustrator print "Web / iPad" prototypes of RETINA?

    The digital size is 2048 x 1536 DiP DiP and the physical size is 169.5 x 240 mm.

    I want to print them to the physical size of 100% (169.5 x 240 mm).

    I had a look in Photoshop what would the size at 72 dpi and ppi 264

    at 72 dpi, the size would be 722,49 mm

    722,49 / 100 = 7,2249. It's 1%

    264 ppi size would be 197 042 mm

    197 042 / 7,2249 = 27,27262661074894%

    Hi all

    How to get the physical width and height of the screen (not resolution) in inches or in centimeters?

    Is there a method to do

    Thank you very much

    Display.getWidth () and Display.getHeight () you will get the number of pixels.

    Display.getHorizontalResolution (); and Display.getVerticalResolution () to get the pixels per meter.  Then by dividing appropriately you can find the actual size.

  • Maximum size of the string scanner

    Hello

    I use a scanner to read the contents of a text file to a string, but the file is not read in compeletely, and the length of the resulting string is 1024. The flie has 4160 characters inside.
    Scanner rScanner = new Scanner(rStream);
    rScanner.useDelimiter("\\z");

    I use Java 1.7.0_01. This limit is documented anywhere? I would like to avoid a loop and the concatenation in my code.

    Given that no object file involved here, I have to do it in a loop anyway, right?

    Yes--but it's almost trivial. Just read N bytes at a time loop of the resource and write in a ByteArrayOutputStream can convert the bytes to a string. Otherwise, read the resource N characters at a time in a loop and write to a StringWriter.

    Actually, come to think of it, I can just hard code the size of the byte array, as the text file contains the code to another programming language that probably won't change in the future.

    This approach looks like a train wreck waiting to happen. Not him.

  • HOWTO: Reduce the physical size of the lrcat file?

    My cat may have reached the maximum size supported by the HDD to fat32 format. (4GiByte).

    Therefore, the cat entries in a different catalog import fails. It says nothing about the reason, but I suspect that the size of the file to the destination lrcat file would be the cause of the problem.

    I deleted now already a large part of the images of the cat, but even after optimization and backup the file, he still has this huge size.

    How can I reduce the size of the file of the lrcat file?

    I suggest that ask you a question in the sql server Forum. You never said what JDBC driver you use or what is the data type of the column.

    The wll getCatalogName and getColumnClassName provided information on what type of data is used. Possibly a BLOB or CLOB, and only the portion of the data row is retrieved. With those other guys, you must open an inputstream for the set of data.
