Physical size and the type of disk hard drive in my XPS M1210?
Hi, for the first time poster here. I'm about to buy a new hard drive to replace the original one in my XPS M1210. I just need to know the physical size (3.5 "? 2.5"? etc) and type (7200 rpm or something else?) of him so I don't know the correct type to buy and replace by.
Thank you!

The physical size of the SATA hard drive is, 9.5 MM x 2.5 ", either 5400 or 7200 RPM works perfectly.

Dimension 8250 (Feb 2003), Windows XP Home SP2, 60 GB HDD, 512 MB of RAM, BIOS A01 - entirely standard
My hardrive suffers from weird deaf noise for a few months, but last week, it was a lot worse. Sometimes it starts up and is ok, othertimes it takes 1 hour to start and everything produces the deaf noise and is so slow, that it's unusable and other times simply clunks and not even start.
Error messages received:
(a) "drive Dell, monitoring system has detected that drive 0 on the primary Eide controller is out of normal, backup specifications and replace the HARD drive.
(b) "error was detetcted on the HARD disk during the paging operation" (in the event viewer)
(c) "driver detetcted a controller the HARD disk error" (in the event viewer)
(d) when I run the Dell IDE Drive Diagnostics (F12), it says FAILED return Code 6
Issues related to the:
(1) am I correct that the drive needs replacement?
(2) I want to just keep it very simple and buy a drive and adapt it, do not worry about BIOS or other upgrades. What I do pay attention to the size car that I buy, is there a maximum size that I can have with BIOS A01? Maybe thought to 120 GB? I just want to be able to adapt, without having to play around with BIOS upgrades so simply the easiest option, which is to buy, set up and reinstall the software. So, is there any limitation integrated with BIOS A01? The recovery CD is XP SP 1
(3) am I correct that the PC supports up to 100 ATA if you need to make sure that I buy ATA 100 no ATA 133?
(4) original drive is Hitachi, Seagate Barracuda would be better?
(5) think active drive a 2 MB cache, a cache 8 MB drive would work ok without me having to pay anything and if yes is it useful on the 2 MB cache?
Thanks for your time.

RAM and the satellite L20-100 HARD drive
Hello!
I have an old Satellite L20-100 and it has a few problems with the HARD disk. I want to buy a replacement (new HARD drive) so I need to know what are the types of FDI in L20 - 100 discs...
In addition, what type of DDR2 RAM I should buy to install in this laptop?
Don't want to buy a fake, because if I do, it would be very difficult to sell...
Please, help :)
Thank you.Post edited by: in_silent
Hello
I agree with Akuma L20 supports a SATA controller and you need and 2.5 SATA HDD.
Usually it s no matter which manufacturer is all 2.5 SATA hard drives must be compatibleWith regard to the 48-bit LBA:
As far as I know that this could be just a problem with HDD IDE (P - ATA). SATA HDD should not be affected. So, theoretically, you could upgrade the HARD disk using larger than 128 GB.Regarding the upgrade of memory:
http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=20683&ft=m&St=3You need DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM and you can use 2 x 1 GB RAM

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 and my agreement now bad hard drive to the Geek squad. My problem is that I'm not able to find my recovery disc and HP has no more of them. Do you know where I could buy the recovery disk?
The official win7 ISO images can be downloaded here;
http://www.w7forums.com/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-image-downloads-t12325.html
You download the version installed on your HP, burn a dvd using ISO, software, the burning at the slowest speed, on quality discs, then install it using the Win Key on the label on your PC.
You will then need to install specific drivers of HP, not of the preinstalled HP software will be at your disposal

No, at least not by us.
Open a hard drive for some reason any at all can be done in special
laboratory as parameters. Something else will destroy the disk. There are companies trying to recover data from broken disks,
and they are sometimes successful. And who knows, maybe they
sometimes use methods such as what you describe. But if you plan to use such a company, know what they
are all very expensive. It does not for most people. For the future, if you have files you want to be sure are not
lost, make sure to have in place a backup procedure on a regular basis the

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.
I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.
The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.
I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.
I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.
The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC. I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.
Any suggestions?
Vido84
I suggest that you should the Zone Alarm Firewall and use Windows Firewall.

Hello
Wanted to know the size of a table on the disk. Assume I have a Table with 10 columns... Only, Varchar2, number and Date fields. For example, of same data in the CSV file with all fields in complete occupation like the VARCHAR2 data size field and have 100 000 files occupy 100 MB on the disk. In this case just wanted to know, table also occupies space on the disk? If not, what is the approximate percentage of diviation?
If there is an index defined on 3 columns of the table and the types of fields for these 3 columns would be, field Date and a numeric field, third field as field Varchar2 (100) respectively. In this case, about how much additional disk space will be ustilized in percentage?
Please note that I am not interested on any other sizing as DB dimensions, other dimensions of the diagram, software size, etc., etc., I wanted to just know, if I have a 1 GB of data in the CSV file and I load in the Table, will take an equal amount of size on the disk or there is a major difference. Of course, I know that because of the definition of the width to the table field, there is a major change in the use of disk space. However, for highest estimate, just consider that Varchar2 column size and the actual data in CSV is even.
Thank you
-Anand
The best way to find out – load a representative sample of data and check the size of the segments / the index of the table.
The size will be different, for sure. DATEs are 7 bytes. VARCHAR2 takes at least one byte over the data size. NUMBER would take usually less space it is used by the CSV format.
In addition, the Oracle tables are stored in a heap structure and generally have unused space allocated to the table.

How can I know the actual size of the type in a document of intent 'web '?
I'm designing a document for iPhone 6plus pixels (1334 x 750) and need to know how translates the size. For example, when I call a text 30 PT., in the real world on the iPhone it's something much smaller than this... maybe 12 pt. This has something to with the number of pixels in the canvas... but how to convert?
So, how to calculate the actual size of the type? I'm not good at math, I need to be told how to do it.
For the output and display at 100%, InDesign defines the physical size of a pixel as "1/72, so the relationship between the print type size and displayed size of the iPhone is a simple report. For the iPhone6 72/326 Gets the relative size of the print to display discount, and 326/72 would be a multiplier. So to display 12pt type how it would print, set it to 54.4 pt (12 x 4.53). Or, to view a 1 inch by 1 inch square, resize it 453%.
For the iPhone6 more the multiplier is 401/72 or 5.57

Best practices MMO. Download music and heavy files on disk hard users?
Best practices MMO. Download music and heavy files on disk hard users?
I just downloaded a Hello Kitty MMO application to search (for my kids of course).
I am developing my application of teaching of English with LOADS of classical music, mp3 and heavy bottom BGS phrases. The best idea would be client to download them to their drive hard is to say that I wouldn't need their flow and therefore save a fresh wealth of bandwidth from my ISP?
See you soon
You will need test and see what works best for you... as I said, the files are cached and used in the cache whenever possible. However, there is a limit to the size of the cache, and if your files are huge then yes there is probably more sense to download. Or get a better reception where bandwidth is not a problem...

Unfortunately, now is not impossible to recover, image of hard drive, but with the only recovery disk. You can copy only to someone who has the same laptop with hard drive recovery record.
