Pics on iCloud

I am looking to buy a new iphone, so I want to be sure, I do not lose anything and told me backup iCloud is the way to go. I backed up my iPhone to iCloud. Before you change anything in my files/photos I wanted to make sure I have everything well do and not lose anything. I am now trying to find the pictures on iCloud via my iPad. There is no indication that the backup is completed. I read similar questions and answers in the forum before posting this question, but frankly I'm still a little confused. My understanding is that I can just visualize in iCloud, but I need to download on my iPad. Is this correct? All the pictures are on my camera. The idea of Photostrea is me confusing as well. So the bottom line is this. How can I get my photos to iCloud for my iPad? Is it possible to simply choose some pictures to download and keep the other in iCloud? Why do you use a photo stream if you can simply transfer on iPad or iCloud? I am a very new user of this whole process so excuse the confusion. All the info on this situation is certainly appreciated.

Peace,

Jim

Download photos is a sync all or nothing. You can't see the pictures in the backup. The photos must be synchronized with Photos.

Connect on iCloud.com and see if your photos are synchronized there: https://www.icloud.com/#photos

If your photos are not there, they are probably not in iCloud. Did you use another Time Machine or Backblaze backup service? You may be able to recover from there. If your photos have been synchronized to your iPhone, they could still be there.

  • iCloud-photo library: only use it as backup?

I finally got serious about my photo library to backup to the cloud. Because I have Apple products, it seems that iCloud photo library would make the most sense. And with the recent drop in prices, it is now affordable.

But here's what I can't determine after reading articles: I don't really have interest in what my library that is available to me through devices. My interest in iCloud is simply as a back-up for my photos, in case my house burns down. Can I then turn on iCloud photo library for Photos on my Mac, but leave it for my iPhone and iPad? My concern is that even an optimized thumbnail for almost 15 years of images would take too much memory on my mobile. I'd rather keep manually import the photos that I take on my iPhone for pictures with sync and let the pics to save them from there.

And the video also back - up iCloud photo library, right?

Yes, you can turn on or off on a per-device basis, and Yes, it synchronizes videos.

I don't like really not new way any call Apple "iCloud" as they are different things. If you have purchased videos on the iTunes Store, they are is not part of your iCloud 200 GB, they are already in your free iCloud (even if it is wise to make sure that you have backups at any time).

Read these if you are clear on how iCloud drive is intended to be used. the main thing is that this isn't an excuse for not buying a hard drive and ensuring that you have a local copy.

  • Photos, iCloud and OneDrive sync

    Hi all

I have a question on how to better organize my photo library.

For the moment, on my space OneDrive (mapped to a partition on my MacBook SSD), I have a folder called 'Images' containing just about all of my photos and organized by folders.

Since my tech ecosystem is roughly marked Apple (iPhone, iPad and MacBook), I would use the power and versatility of the Photos and iCloud, so that everything remains in all of my devices and free space memory iPhone sync.

Here's the question: I want to keep my pictures saved on OneDrive, then put the Photos on my Mac to view photos from this folder and use iCloud to share through my devices.

-I see the same folder structure on iPhone and iPad a synchronization is complete?

-More important, if I take a picture with my iPad, it will be placed not only on iCloud but also automatically added pictures on Mac which, in turn, puts it in the folder of photos on my OneDrive?

-Finally, take pictures of my iDevices will store them in the film. If I move them into folders, photos will be mapped (copied to iCloud) on my other devices constantly (in the folder)?

I would like to notice I'm not trying to avoid using iCloud premium space - I already have a subscription plan of 50 GB that I don't mind mounted. I just keep having just all my photos on OneDrive.

Thank you in advance for any comments you may have!

    Paul

    The answer is simply not

The photo library can not be stored on a basic system to pictures not work will have a referenced library, so you may not have a local library references photos on a disc - the photo library can be on a local drive connected directly to the Mac OS Extended format

You can synchronize between the Mac and IOS devices using iCloud library that synchronizes the photos and the structure of the album/folder between devices

When you import pictures you can export them to your OneDrive record and have a copy (not associate Photos somehow) on a disk

You can not have the same physical pictures in Photos and on one disc - each must have its own copy of the Photo

  • How can I have two desktops on iCloud sync at the same time, without having duplicate files?

    Hi all

I have two computers, a MacBook Pro and iMac. I use the new feature for Sierra macOS, which allows me to continually synchronize my office on iCloud. I welcome the Office on my iMac be synchronized on the cloud. Now, I would have the exact same office on my MacBook Pro. I tried many ways, including by dragging files to iCloud Drive on my desktop, but the synchronization does not work. If I enable syncing on my MacBook Pro, I know that I have duplicate files.

With this method, I would like to: whenever I have add a file on my desktop iMac computer, it shows up on my MacBook Pro Office without the need for me to keep about iCloud road opening.

    Thanks for reading this.

    Ethan

If you enable sync on the MacBook Pro, it should not be duplicates.  What makes you think it?
