Pictogram missing Windows 8

I did a network connection to a netwerkmap shared on a server. Stationletter: Q

I'm trying to put a shortcut to an exe file in this map (q:\...)  with a pictogram (logo.ico) in this q:\logo.ico map

When I install Windows 7 / XP / Vista-online everything is normal: the link with the icon appears on the desktop
When I install in Windows 8-Online link is OK but no symbol. Even when I click on properties, I see the in pictogram (logo.ico) plug into the link, but... the pictogram appears not.,.
When I download 'logo.ico' on the local workstation and connect it to the shortcut link, everything is normal. The pictogram is displayed.

What can I do in Windows 8 so that it works as in Windows 7/XP/Vista

Thank you

Web videos Windows Media Player require additional plugin software that adds specific functionality to enable items to use. Additional plug-in software requires more memory. However, the internal memory of the device of Internet TV is designed only to be used to store data of the pre-installed applications. For this reason, Windows Media Player can not play.

    1. Press Enter to start the configuration of Windows.

do not choose "to repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, press on R", (do not want to load the Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "to repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, press on R.

    2. Accept the license agreement and Windows will search for existing installations of Windows.
    3. Select the XP installation you want to repair in the list, press Rto start the repair. If the repair is not one of the options, END of installation

  • Impossible to install KB2656374 - codes missing Windows Installer Error 80070641

original title: lack of Windows Installer

All of a sudden, seems missing Windows Installer. Certainly not in my list of Services. Thus, the last Microsoft Update K2656374 don't settle with error code 80070641 and 641. A few other updates has not as well. This is the first time Microsoft updates failed. I can't install Windows Installer 4.5 (or any other version) because I get an error message that says that it is not for my system. I think it's because he's not here to update. And I can not install software updates with the .msi extension. Can someone tell me how to extract or install Windows Installer?

I use Vista Home Basic SP2 32 bit and have been for several years. It is the first occurrence of this problem. Using Kaspersky Internet security, and in both years.

I'll tell you what has worked for me. Once you have the file "msiserver.reg" on the desktop, right-click. Now, I didn't have an option "Merge" but I got the option 'open '. Then I opened the file using "regedit.exe". You can find it in C:\Windows I think.

I received a confirmation window that my registry would be changed. I said okay Then I got a confirmation that the change was made. I rebooted my computer and looked in "Services" of Windows Installer. And here!
I also discovered that System Mechanic is the culprit in deleting a file in Windows Installer. SO I've excluded from analysis of System Mechanic. So far, I'm good.

  • This program requires a component missing Windows

After installing a program of seven "Ulead DVD MovieFactory" to my new Window 7, I received a message ' this program requires a component missing Windows. This program works OK with Window XP, but does not work with Windows 7. Please help me find this component missing Windows.

    Hello UleadinWindow7,

The Windows 7 Compatibility Center lists no information on Ulead DVD MovieFactory is compatible with Windows 7.

You can try to run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    Use the following steps:

    (1) right click on the program

    2) click Properties

    3) click on the Compatibility tab

    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If compatibility is not successful, then try and self-test program compatibility issues:

    1. open the program compatibility problems theStart button.

Then click on Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting tool, then clickTroubleshooting. Under programs, clickRun done for previous versions of Windows.

    2. follow the instructions in the troubleshooting.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware (www.vmware.com) Player and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hope this information helps.

  • I seem to be missing 'Windows movie maker HD' - any ideas how to install it?

My new laptop came pre-installed with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.
"Windows Movie Maker HD" is supposed to be part of this version of windows.
My laptop came with a recovery disk, not a windows installation disc, is this correct?.
How do I get/install that missing piece of software?

    Thank you

    John.

    Hello

The product recovery disc is an exact image of the operating system that was created on the first installation at the plant where the machine was made. Basically, this disc is your copy of Windows, if indeed you're right.

In Windows Movie Maker HD is, get on my laptop here I only have Movie Maker installed, and it is through a copy of Vista Ultimate retail. The HD of the software part is intended mainly for import from HDV cameras, and the connectivity features need not here then it's not only available as an option.

As far as I know Windows Movie Maker and Movie Maker HD alike well enough with the additional functionality.

I hope this helps. I will look into this new and keep you :)

    Kind regards
    Nukey

  • Satellite A300-1CO - missing Windows XP Drivers

    Hello

Have a seller assured me that the Satellite A300-1CO (PSAJ4E) is fully compatible with windows XP, I just bought a.

After a few hours of the depth of evil, I managed to install Win XP SP3 and get almost all the components under it.

I have just 2 missing... Ethernet and a mass storage device (I think that its the card reader).

Howerver, I had installed the following drivers:

    Card reader controller - O2Micro
    Driver LAN - Marvell

Two components should not work properly?

And Daniel "controls - Toshiba" for windows ON THAT XP won't install win XP?

Another question... There are components that have more of a driver more... which ones should I choose? The most recent?

    Best regards.

    Pedro

The Ethernet device could be LAN wireless, and mass storage could be the Intel Matrix Storage Manager or Intel Chipset. You have installed these drivers?

Also install common modules, if it is available for this model.

  • Pavilion 15z-p200: missing Windows 7 drivers

I'm trying to downgrade my Pavilion 15z-p200 Windows 8 for Windows 7, before you get mad, that this configuration was sold as the 15z -p100.

In most, but not all, drivers are on the HP driver support page.  Here is the list of what we're missing

    You are the very welcome.

Please display the hardware for the unknown device ID.

To find the hardware ID, click the unknown device.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the device window unknown.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

Drop down on it and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

If the device ID reveals it's the 3D driveguard device, then you can install the driver, or leave the unknown device as is.

I have an SSD and I installed the driver to get rid of an unknown device.  No negative impact on the performance of the SSD I could say.

  • analysis of missed Windows Security Essentials

I have installed Windows Security Essentials on many PCs - Vista, XP and 7 - to my friends.  I noticed that when WSE is missing a scheduled scan (maybe the computer is turned off), it does not catch and preform analysis effectively.  For example, my Windows 7 PC is now in its 3rd week after missing a weekly scan.  WSE should not go ahead and perform the analysis subsequently, or is it necessary to scan manually?

  • Missing windows components in the administrator group policy templates. XP Pro SP3

Miss me some of the windows components in the computer configuration > Group Policy administrative templates. How can I get back them? XP Pro SP3

If you click on administrative templates, add or remove templates do you have right to have these models:

    CONF
    Inetres
    System
    Wmplayer
    sooper

If this isn't the case, you must add them as described above.

For example, if inetres does not appear in the models (so, you must add), you won't see any substance IE under Windows Components.

Take a look at templates that are installed on the system that works and compare them to the distressed system.

If you have data on the computer that has not been saved and checked as good, I recommend strongly that you are trying to get a backup of the data before doing anything else for the reader.  You can remove the drive and put it in an external USB enclosure of a type that will take care of your player (type IDE (PATA) or SATA) and copy the files to another computer before attempting to repair your disk.  If you make a mistake you could very well lose all data on the disk.  A good backup system is necessary even if you have only one computer.  Prevents data loss.
