  I think you just need to install (or reinstall) the Dell Webcam software to solve your problem.  Here is a link to the Dell Webcam Central support article that will explain the process on how to download and install the software you need.  It seems that you need to connect to My Dell account or sign up for one to access this software because it's a licensed application.

  Let us know once you have reinstalled the Dell Webcam software if you still have problems or not, and if so, we'll see what we can offer you.

  The battery of the laptop died slowly over the years and now I want to change with a bigger (9 cells) but I can't seem to find one that is particularly compatible with this model of Vostro. What is the same for all Vostro models, or maybe just other models? :)

  It is certainly. AMD demanded 4 .NET. x + for their installer drivers for several years already, but I think they have started including with their driver downloads recently.

  Try to update the drivers using Windows Update.  If this does not work, try the versions of Vista of Intel and Ricoh under Chipset drivers on the website of downloads & drivers for Vostro Notebook 1500 . Make a restore point first.

  Also, check your windows update settings and provide recommended updates is not selected for the automatic update, but only the important updates.

  Aside from not not using drivers available under recommended updates, for all other first check the details as to whether its relevant for your specific use.

• Dell Vostro 1500 - Wireless driver for Windows XP

  I can't install the driver for my device wireless on my laptop Dell Vostro 1500 running Windows XP Professional. The laptop came with Windows Vista Basic Edition. I tried to install the driver for Windows XP from the CD of original drivers that came with the laptop and also by downloading from the Dell Web site. The pilot program installs without giving an error, but after installation of the unit is still not functional and Device Manager shows no information on wireless hardware.

  Hi - I am looking to replace the HARD drive in my Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower with a Samsung SSD of 850 EVO.  I am running the BIOS 1.0.16 and do not see the option AHCI, RAID or IDE only.  Should what BIOS settings I use to optimize the performance of an SSD benefits?

  I could get my SSD working under RAID (10 Windows) with the following steps (which some may not be necessary).

  1. MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable 9 CD to clone a copy of the existing for the Samsung SSD HDD (Samsung data migration tool did not acknowledge the Samsung SSD on Windows 10, even though Device Manager it identified as such).  It took nearly 36 hours to clone froma 160 GB 250 GB HDD to the SSD.
  2. Replace HDD with SSD and it started / worked as an IDE drive.  TRIM has been activated and works.
  3. Apply the hotfix to the register noted in the first post of this thread (it may or may not be necessary):

  4. Downloaded the Intel Matrix Storage Manager 7.5.0.1017 A00 (which is appropriate for the Vostro 200 Slim Tower) from the Dell Web site and run the extracted exe file on the disk.
  5. Opens the folder where the drivers have been extracted and made a right click > install iaahci.inf and iastor.inf files.
  6. Restarted the PC, went into the BIOS and changed the IDE in RAID mode.
  7. When the system is booted, I received the message "Inaccessible Boot Device", so I let the system automatically restarts, go through the automatic recovery/repair options, then follow the guests to launch the advanced Windows options recovery to start in safe mode.
  8. Once in safe mode, I opened the Device Manager, which now showed the following new features:
     1. Disc players
        1. SAMSUNG SSD 850 EVO 500G
     2. Storage controllers
        1. Intel(r) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID Controller
        2. Microsoft storage controller
  9. The system is then able to start and be used normally.
  10. There are still problems with the Samsung Wizard software, but it seems that it is a matter of Samsung.

  Hi there, given that my computer is back to have a new hard drive and the general cleaning I don t seem to have a microphone. The computer is a Dell vostro 1700. This really happened about two years previously while my pc is under warranty and Dell support took control remote and fixed it. Now its happened again made, someone knows how to turn it back. I've been devices etc. and the mic option is it says Mic no line in and if I right click and uncheck the box or the other of the boxes he always says no detected Mic.   Hello, I'm trying to update windows after installation and I get error code 80072F8F.  After looking for other pages, I checked my BIOS date and time are correct and Windows as well.

  I already activated Windows (silly me to check everything actually works) and I need a solution as soon as POSSIBLE.

  I needed Windows update to try and fix a number display adapter (card intel not giving not external display resolutions)- but that's another question.

  Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!
