  The following options of drilling:

  1 - drill Down: when we are at a higher level of aggregation and want to go to a lower level within the same size. Time dimension ex: year quarter-monthly...
  2 - drill UP: when we are at a lower level of aggregation and want to go further in the same size. Time dimension ex: trimenstre for months to years.
  3-drill through: when we are at a lower level of aggregation and want to go to a minor or vice versa, in different environments. Ex Dimenao time: quarter of the year in a Data Mart for Essbase Dimension at the time: month in a DW in a relational database.
  4 extract: when we're at a level of aggregation within a dimension of this level and go to the other in another dimension. Ex the dimension product: name of the product to the Customer Dimension: name of the client, or you want to know what products or those that customers have purchased.

• OBIEE - navigate to "Pierce" effect

  I have developed on OBIEE for a month now and have written that some reports with navigate a dashboard in order to coordinate the multiple reports on another page of dashboard.
  
  It works very powerfully, simply by putting filters 'invite' on all the fields of the target report and for the navigate to the dashboard page - not a single nice - very nice - report - impressed - love it!
  
  
  BUT -I was not able to reproduce this when trying to achieve the same effect with linked folders, based on tables, with the same field names and data values - when I want to move from one reports based on folder has another report, based on the folder B - works to navigate, but the content of the report is the complete set of data not limited by the "prompt" filter and the value one clicked to start the navigation.

  Know that OBIEE is primarily a BI tool - not a forms 9i, Java swing or equivalent same asp.net (sorry!)-, but the solution only includes features of publication (postback) standard - and I've seen dealing with XML for easy insertion and put messages updated to allow a simple web form style feature.

  Stabilization of a hierarchy is to repeat the value of the absolute of the lowest level, up to the level of the leaves.

  So if I have 5 levels max, I might have two nodes in the hierarchy that resemble:

  A-> B-> C-> D-> E
  X-> ARE-> Z-> Z-> Z

  If Z is 'flattened' so you can guarantee 5 levels to Pierce. Its more about a minor deficit OBIEE who would not break you into a null value if the value 'Z' ended at level 3 in my example above

  First, make sure you don't have any programs or applications or in the course of performance when the problem occurs.

  It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

  Hello Vinay,

  You can't use template security BI Publisher when the BEEP is integrated with OBIEE. You must use the Oracle Fusion Middleware security model in this case because OBIEE manages access. Security model BI Publisher can be used when you use a Simple installation, no installation of the company.   First fix for this:

  unset ORACLE_HOME before running for OBIEE 12 c configuration wizard.

  Another option is to install without the application of sampleLite.

  Ensure that the language game is another OBIS EN_US-UTF-8 will not start

• OBIEE 12 c - can't see application roles in Identity Manager (online mode)

  We would be able to see Application roles in Identity Manager when it is connected to the repository in online mode?  11 g, after the opening of management > identity, there is an option of Action > Synchronize Application roles.  That option is absent in 12 c.  I don't see any application roles in Identity Manager dialog box.

  I faced this problem in obiee 11g and open a Service request to the support.oracle.com. I got a solution less than an hour. (It was a bug and he suggested me to install a small patch)

  Maybe you could do the same for your problem.

  My OBIEE version is 11.1.1.7.0 years have a cube ASO in Essbase 11.1.2 as my source.

  There is a calculated member ASO which retreival in reports is time consuming.

  Optimization measures proposed to reduce the wait times in OBIEE.

  PS - We have integration Hyperion OBIEE in place already.

  OBIEE has many ways optimized:

  1. you can use the OBIEE cache management, hitting the first time the ESSBASE CUBE and the second time the OBIEE hit the cache, it improve your processing time.

  2. in your maybe views that you have limited the main information, I mean, OBIEE is a web application bi and if you try to pretend to get a lot of lines, this might give you some problems, as a work around you could limit your opinion, in your 'LINES PER PAGE' properties, and as a work around if you want to get a large amount of data that you download it.

  

  2. If points 1 and 2 shall not apply to your needs, perhaps to think, to use the cache of essbase optimization

  You should enable the option of mobile application, how can you do that?

  1. you must apply a hotfix to an OBIEE:

  2. When you got the enable Mobile Application, you must create your report with "BI Modila App".

• Connect OBIEE Admintool to hive: problems with ODBC. Any option?

  We are facing a blocking problem when you try to connect to an instance of hive Admintool using an ODBC driver.

  For a CEP, we are trying to set up a domain of hive to analyze in OBIEE. Everything seems to work OK

  until we try to load the metadata. In this case, the schema is found but not table under him. We can add the

  Physics of table by hand, and then we can successfully launch the number of lines. We then try to load the lines, but to

  the point that we have faced a strange behavior. But summarize the steps we have taken.

  (1) we downloaded ODBC drivers to connect to the hive (we tried with Hortonworks, Cloudera, Microsoft and)

  (2) we have set up the connection to the hive on port 10000 and successfully run the ODBC test (BTW: to)

  SQLDeveloper we can connect to the same server via the JDBC driver and query the tables here);

  (4) the next step is to load the metadata; and here is the first issue, because we can see the patterns but not

  the tables.

  

  (5) anyway we are going on and insert a schema (we read there could be problems with more than one schema, then)

  We simply select one); in a blog (by Rittman, who really is 'THE' guru OBIEE) it is said that the tables are not

  loading directly, so we tried simply adding a physical table in the physical layer as the default schema.

  making sure the table exists;

  (6) once we have added 'physically' table that we proceed with the number of lines; and we get correctly the number of

  ranks once we overview the name of table after that;

  (7) then we try to retrieve the lines and the question; We get the following error message:

  

  We also dug a bit little and concluded that the request received by hive instead of being

  SELECT * FROM trucks

  it becomes

  SELECT FROM trucks

  If the ' *' is passed to the SQL statement sent. If we run the same query on the Beehive, we get

  exactly the same exception ParseException error, it really seems that there is a problem in the

  construction of the SQL statement.

  Any idea about this problem? (if a fix exists, because after so many attempts, we are convinced

  This is a bug that can only be fixed by a new version of Admintool)

  BTW: we have tried almost all the possible options for the ODBC driver (such as 'native of use request',

  ("Use Unicode" and so on) and in regards to the Admintool, we have not seen what option

  or preferably (at the physical layer) can influence this anomaly.

  OK, I got what you're saying. I mean, to focus on the bigger picture. If you can make a data view or list Table to import metadata is a bit unrelated to the final goal. Annoying, but irrelevant. What you try to do, is get OBIEE to build queries dynamic SQL based on the logical requests which will submit your users via presentation against the presentation layer Services.

  Continue to build your SPR (ignorant that display data does not work) at a very simple level, with a single fact/Sun in the business model, single domain - and then run an appropriate query generated in answers through it. The point of all this is to see how OBIEE SQL query then generates, and if it's worth a one hive.

  Scalability, performance and functionality of discoverer have serious limitations.

  OBIEE is much better than discoverer in all directions.

  11.1.1.9 and 12.2.1.0.0 are certified with 12.2.4.

  I recommend you to go to 12 c, you'll have better integration goes forward with 12,2 EBS.
