• a trick to find the drivers for "unknown devices".

  I see a lot of messages on the forum in which users try to find the drivers for "unknown devices" in the Device Manager.  That's how I usually go on the search for drivers for these users.  I thought that the community, this may be useful.
  
  I use a site called pilot identifier.  However, I do NOT use the stand-alone application.  I'm NOT suggesting that do you.  I have not used the app, so I can't speak to its usefulness.
  
  I use the site to determine exactly what is the material element.  To do this, the site doesn't have a search function, I use a updated Google search the.  I will now give the steps with examples.
  
  First of all, you need the hardware ID for your hardware.  To locate this information, follow these steps.

  1. Click Start, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER.
  2. Look for the device that needs a driver.
  3. Right click on the device and select Properties.
  4. Go to the tab "Details".
  5. Select hardware ID from the drop-down.

  Here is an example of a hardware ID:

  HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_10EC & DEV_0662 & SUBSYS_103C3047 & REV_1001.

  I then use this Hardware ID and Google to determine what the hardware item by searching for the use of the site: modifier for Google.  So, my research looks like this
  
  "site:www.driveridentifier.com .

  HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_10EC & DEV_0662 & SUBSYS_103C3047 & REV_1001.
  
  When I go to the first result, it will be, in general, identify the material at the top of the page.  Here is the page for my research above.   The page identifies audio material like "realtek high definition", which is correct because it's the hardware for my sound card ID.
  
  Now, on this page if you scroll down it gives you a list of all OEM drivers for this piece of hardware.  However, you cannot download the drivers from them without having to install their software.  What I do is so, note the name of the driver for HP.  In this case, you will see that she is named "sp59642.exe".

  Because I can not download the driver from the website, or even be directly connected to HP's Support site from there, I still use Google.
  
  This time, I use a search of "sp59642.exe" in Google, which returns this page as the first result.

  I can't always find the executables that are listed by pilot identifier.  For example, I can't locate sp59660 or sp59662 who are both on the same list.  So it may take a few tries to find a driver, but I had some success using this method.

• OfficeJet Pro 6830: Officejet Pro 6830 display is disabled

  The LCD of my Pro Officejet 6830 is off and does not start.  Looks like the touch screen works - at least I hear tones click when I touch the screen, but it is off and I can't do any copy or scan function since I can't find where to touch.

  Printing from PC on the network works fine and the poster printer printer web server is in good condition.

  Now, the magic software that solved my problem was "pilot identifier. (I didn't know it)

  It can detect unknown hardware ID devices (as you did) and recommends drivers for them.

  The pilot who was the solution has been Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller driver.
  They are different but you choose the one that is compatible with your chipset.

  Pilot identifier recommend correct.

  Installation: Just run a single setup.exe, and that's all!

• HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour missing PCI Simple Communications Controller Driver (Modem?). WinXP

  Hello

  I had to restore a HP Compaq dx2300 format microtour Win XP system from the recovery partition.

  Everything seemed to work fine except no driver found for PCI Simple communication controller.

  There was no modem in Device Manager.

  I downloaded the driver for the modem on the HP website, but it will not identify / install the driver.

  Remains of the error. (no driver found for PCI Simple communication controller.)

  Your label says HP Expert 2014. I made a mistaken assumption that you were part of HP.

  I agree that it probably isn't a standard part of HP. I also looked at their specs and the database driver.
  I tried to use never version on the HP web site for their standard model for Agere 56 K PCI Modem driver. He did not consider it as one appropriate driver.

  However, I could only identify a compatible driver using a new pilot identifier utility (new to me at least).

  It seems to work.

  I think I'll keep it in my toolbox in the future.

  I am struggling to find the drivers below.  I think I downloaded all the drivers available for Windows 7-32 bit of the system, and it is not the problem.

  For you for computer laptop 2000-2d49tu, HP has no drivers for your graphics card. I included the link to 'Drivers of laptop HP 2000-2d49TU'.

  One option that you have is to get the drivers specifically for the hardware manufacturer. I checked the "specifications" for your laptop, and it shows that you have Intel HD Graphics. Do if you go on the Intel site. Please follow the instructions below.

  4. click on drivers and downloads
  5. click on automatically find drivers and software

• Acer Aspire switch 10 - Wi - fi randomly stall

  Hi all, I have problem with my Switch 10. The internet connection drops frequently. It is followed by the icon of signal strength showing "Limited." I then turn WI - FI off and back on and it recognizes not all networks at all. I then go into network settings, run the troubleshooter and it does its thing, re-creation of the NIC and then informs me that he could not find a subject. After you reset the adapter it works fine again.
  I tried unistalling and installing the most recent drivers, but the problem persists. The problem lies in the adapter itself or the driver.   For those looking for a Broadcom driver, an internet search revealed a number of drivers later than shown on the download page of Acer.  Once again the research pilot program lists a number of drivers later, so give it a go and see if it helps.

  Hope that helps anyone who suffered this issue.
