  I'm doing a shader that makes skeletal animation (vertex skinning) using a PixelBender3D, my code looks like this:

  Compiles well but running it I get an exception stating: register allocator is run out of registers.
  It is not a shader very complex, it is very usual things in HLSL\CG\GLSL and basically each around graphics card can handle something like that.
  What kind of limitations of record number has this latest version of PixelBender3D? Will improve the newer versions on this subject? Is this a PB3D problem or if I'm trying to do in the Agal (I still need to learn that) I'll hit the same problem? I'm doing something wrong?

  There is a limit of 128 constant registers, but I think the limit that you are running is the limit on temporary registers in code. Unfortunately some of the equipment we support only allows 8 temporary registers is the limit we have for AGAL and Pixel Bender 3D.

  As the current things, you might be able to do better by programming directly in AGAL, but that's because you may be able better to hand optimizations that we are currently in the compiler, rather than because the limits are different. We are very aware that we must improve the optimization in the compiler and we are working on that.

• Application of Pixel Bender filters on some MediaElements

  I want to apply a Pixel Bender filter to an ImageElement. In general, I do this as:

  Now ImageElement does not support the parameter .filters. Are there plans for this feature in a future release of OSMF? Or are there different ways to apply a Pixel Bender filter? Thank you

  If you are working with the MediaPlayer, then you can assign the filter property of the MediaPlayer displayObject once the image is loaded:

  If you work with the ImageElement directly (and unfortunately), then you will need to access DisplayObjectTrait element, which holds the DisplayObject.

  Chipset: 965 PM
  Graphics: (probably: X 3100)

  Details: Install some games (not new) it pops up the window that my graphics card is not shader pixels. I think - WTF - X 3100 and I965 Chipset families graphics cards have pixel shader - download graphics driver is useless-> graph avaible only version of the map is only on the Toshiba.com: 7.14.10.1244 - and this version too, I installed on my computer. Intel (WTF) does not support my chipset (965 PM)

  Question: Is there way/solution to update my graphics driver and be happy with pixelshadering & vertexshadering my games?

  Theoretically the Intel X 3100 graphics card supports Pixel - and Vertexshader 4.0 because it s DirectX 10 graphics card.

  In your case, I would try the new driver to display on the Intel site. Download the latest version and install it but first remove the old driver.

  In addition, it would be interesting to know what you are trying to play the games. Don t forget that Intel adapters are not the best for games and perhaps the games doesn t support this card.

  I had a similar problem after that reformatting my hard drive and do a clean install Windows 7 and Adobe CS5, even though for me, I was a problem updating the entire suite.

  First, the solution was to update the MAO.  See this thread (in particular the answer by natewinck on August 20, 2014 07:52) for the details of the solution.

  However, I was still having problems to make the PixelBender 2.5 update to install.  It turns out that it is an another known issue that needs a fix installed first.

  I need to install the extension to configure my gfx, scaleform for unreal engine 3. I used the trial flash CS 5 originally, until I got this.

  Problem has been solved by manually installing the extensions Manager CC of the designer Apps Cloud rather than try to update.

  It's the kind of misleading and a bug, I suppose, but there is how it works.

  I recently installed Pixel Bender and it worked the first time I started it, but I've since updated my NVidia driver, and now it crashes at startup.

  I tried to change the program setting in the NVidia Control Panel and tried all options of compatibility, but also 16-bit color, but it does that mode 256 colors, as suggested by this old thread:

  mode 256 colors makes it impossible to view any kind of basic shaders so I have to export flash develop at each change.

  To resolve this problem simply change the name of the sniffer_gpu.exe file in the Pixel Bender Toolkit folder to any other without ".exe" for example sniffer_gpu.exe.bak. This will stop this toolkit to get a GPU that can be incompatible with app (see manual for supported GPUS) and forces CPU usage to make images.
