• New Pixma iP8720 set up.and printed a b & w gray on matte paper.

  Hello. I just set up my new Pixma iP8720 and make a first impression just to see if it worked. Of PS Elements, I printed a photo b & w/grey scale on Matt paper (not Canon). It seems OK, except there is a tint of cyan to it. Can I do to fix this?

  Well, I thought about it. Instead of selecting "matte paper" in the dropdown menu, I selected "other photo book" and unchecked "gray scale". I printed a color printing and a tonic b & w and a not b & w and they all came out great. No cyan shades! Printing b & w untoned looks pretty hot to it with this paper (Matt of 61lb Office Depot) black/brown background that I wanted in the first place. Just to see, I printed the untoned b & w once again, but with "matte paper" checked and he lost the tone b & b for a neutral look cooler. Both are acceptable. Thanks again.

• With my PIXMA ip8720, can I print multiple images on a sheet of 8.5 x 11?

  I want to print my logo several times on a sheet of these size stickers white tithe sold my office supplies store. There must be 50 + of these stickers by a sheet of 8.5 x 11. Just like printing of address labels. Can I do this on my PIXMA iP8720 somehow? I usually print Photoshop Elements 5 or the application of windows 7.

  If its an Avery or similar product I would try using Microsoft Word. Look for the model of this product and stick the logo on the location of each model.

  I print my cards with photo on m he using this approach.

  I'm in the market for a new photo printer.  I got some Epsons for years but these guns are really pretty.  I'm looking at Pixma Pro 100 and the Pixma ip8720.  What is your opinion?

  I have the Pro-100 and I have a Pro - 9500 II, then you probably know my preference.

  Either will do a good job and I guess the only difference between the two is, AI a printer 6 colors and the other is an 8.

  The Pro-100 is a beast at nearly 45 pounds.  It's a really nice photo printer.

• PIXMA IP8720

  Recently, I connected a Canon PIXMA IP8720 my MacPro running OS / X Yosemite 10.10.2. As much as I try, I can't get the printer prints product photographs with the correct colors. The colors are broadly and I tried to coordinate the colors of the Mac, monitor and printer profiles but does not. I have the same printer you use a wireless connection to my HP Vista desktop and have been able to coordinate the profiles of colors to the point where the impressions come out reasonably close to what I expected, but quality isn't there yet. My most recent photography on Mac software, I want to get this work as soon as POSSIBLE, but impossible to find good documentation on how to approach the implementation correctly, any entry that could serve as the community would be greatly appreciated.   You can try to print photos of our Easy-PhotoPrint program to see if this will improve the accuracy of the colors obtained.  If you have not installed Easy-PhotoPrint program, it can be downloaded from the site Web of Canon USA. Please click here to access the drivers and software page for the PIXMA iP8720.  Once the initial download to your model page, follow these steps:

  1. check that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop is correct and if this isn't the case, please click on the drop down menu to select your operating system.

  2. then, click the red arrow next to the 'SOFTWARE' section and click on the EASY-PhotoPrint for IPHONE. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click the box below the button DOWNLOAD, and then click DOWNLOAD to start the download. The time for the download process can vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

  Once the program is installed, please follow these steps to print from Easy-PhotoPrint for iPhone:

  1. go to your menu GO to, and then select APPLICATIONS.

  2. in the APPLICATIONS folder, please double-click on the CANON UTILITIES file, then select the application Easy-PhotoPrint EX.

  3. Once you are in the Easy-PhotoPrint app for iPhone, you will see a folder structure on the left side, where you can select a picture or an image. Please navigate to the location of the image/photo you want to print. When you do, all the images available at this location should appear in the right pane of the window. Please note: If a screen appears with the Photo printing options, create an Album, sticker printed, etc., please select the PHOTO-PRINT option to display a box with the folder structure.

  4. under each of the photos that appear in the right pane of the window, you will see a upward and down arrow, as a '0 '. Please click the arrow pointing UPWARDS once under the image you want to select, and then click the tab SELECTION of PAPER.

  5. Select the PRINTER, PAPER SOURCE, PAPER SIZE and TYPE of MEDIA, and then click the tab layout PAGE/PRINT at the top of the window.

  6 select the layout you want in the left pane of the window. When you do, a glimpse of what the image should look like when printed appears in the right pane of the window.

  7. Once you have selected a layout, please click the button PRINT. Print the photo/image.

  Hi brassman.

  The PIXMA iP8720 can use plain paper that is 17 to 28 lb (64-105 g/m2) (with the exception of the authentic Canon document) and paper other than Canon authentic specialty up to 53 lbs (200 g/m2).  We do not recommend to use paper that is lighter or heavier than the weight of paper in the printer, as they can jam or damage to the printer.

  For printers that can handle up to 61 paper books, we recommend our Professional Photo Inkjet.  These printers can handle up to 93 lb (350 g / m2) using the manual when the food tray of the printer.

• Magenta toner is low

  I have an Officejet 6000 wireless, model E609n.  I print only in black & white.  For some reason, the magenta toner is low.  Is magenta printing used in black & white?  The printer will print black & white if the magenta toner is completely empty?

  Good question! In fact, all 4 colors are used in black print, unless you tell the printer not to do in the print driver. The reason that colors are used is to make the black look more dynamic (he tends to look Brown in the case, because of the purge in the paper.)

  If you want to change this so that it will print only in black, what you can do is go into your printers folder in Control Panel, right-click on your printer, and then select Preferences. Access to advanced settings and look for an option that says print in black ink only. Chances are it has disabled right now. If you enable it, it should stop your printer to use the cartridges of colour as a primer for black ink.

  For the record, the quality of your print will decrease if you do this.

  I sought an answer to this but have not found one that I really understand.  An iP87290 can be used as a wired printer and printer wifi simultaneously?

  I put up as a USB Wired printer on the office a year ago.  Works very well.  Now my wife wants to know if she can print on it from his laptop.  I have the wifi set up in the House and she often logs from the living room... as I have from my android tablet. What we do when she wants to print something, it is transferred to an SD card, then put the SD card in the office and printing from it.  Aging.  It would be much better if she could just walk into the 'office' and turn the printer on and print directly from his laptop.  I like to keep the printer connected to the desktop also.

  You can connect your PIXMA iP8720 to a computer with a USB cable and also use wireless with other computers and devices at the same time.

• Unilateral impression on the other side of the paper?

  By warnings included in Canon book, print on the reverse of the unilateral paper will do any damage to my printer - Canon PIXMA iP8720.

  The only paper available Canon in mast / 50-60 lbs / 8.5 x 11 is one way which is Canon Pro Premium Matt @ 56 lb I print photos b & w for a book that I do and sometimes I need to print on both sides of some pages. Unless there is a double-sided paper of Cannon available that I'm not aware, I have "Let's consider a different brand of paper and paper Red River or my initial choice Office Depot Photo Pro – the two-sided.

  Really, I love the quality of the award-winning Pro Matte and would like to use it for this book if only it was double-sided.

  Any suggestions or info?

  Red River made of good quality paper. I recommend that you use their paper and use the ICC profile for your printer.

• T61 7659-ac5 refuses to power on

  This is my first time to post in this forum. I bought a used t61 7659-ac5, I got it without a sata drive. Experienced on linux mint for now all looking for a decent used sata drive. Ran memory tests and downloaded updates, downloaded games to take the time and trouble on linux. honestly, it was a unique and enjoyable experience using Mint. the other day I started, thinkpad screen is appeared, but after a while, I see no more linux desktop... the screen is empty. power remained. then I tried to power cycle it.

  light in order

  1 batt / AC

  2 batt / AC

  3 capslock / numlock / power

  4... then nothing...

  everytime I push the power button these lights on nothing... no thinkpad splash screen.

  tried the second lifting 30 - no luck.

  tried to remove all the accessories, card wifi-bluetooth-dvd player - nothing

  tried to remove 1 dimm, tried to rotate it even... nothing

  but when 2 DIMM removed: the two indicators of power/batt lights then = beep, 3 beeps, 3 beeps, beeps then more nothing... power/batt stays always on!

  any ideas or suggestions?

  my intel GPU is at fault? are both my favorite DIMM?

  Hi guys... I do not know you are doing the thing. the thing is still alive! have ran memtest at least 6 passes - without error. fan swirls as it should.

  "My methods seem unorthodox, but I think it's the beginning of the operation of a"franken-Pad"!

  1 removed the black plastic to every part of the motherboard... including the GPU intel. I know it is anti-static protection, but since we live in Manila where the moisture is very abundant, stray static is not really a problem. while removing the black plastic, I discovered a lot of particles, like a person adding the seasoning of a dish... and a lot of it in some places. I was able to deduce that the previous love eating snacks.

  2. carefully brushed all parties that the eye can see. hope that I haven't missed an important area.

  3. some inductor soldering looked Brown and crusty. so with a little help from one with a soldering iron and solder the fuse (and Brazing Paste) to remove and appy new welding at the questionable joints. It is not a pretty thing to look at from the point of view of the engineer a process but I did my best to weld it decently.

  4. the reassembly. the thing has not worked in the first round. the pump PATA and hold for 30-seconds finally brought alive.

  Thank you guys for the ideas and methods of troubleshooting! Hopefully this one will not anytime soon through rough seas.

  Tuus, where this one goes, I'll seek help of a replacement system card... If the budget allows.

  Wondering if someone have an idea what technique was used to edit this photo:

  

  I tried to imitate the effect but was unable to do so! I was more concerned with imitating the bright white against the dark great complexion. I tried to do it for my photos, but was unable to do so even if I have a Tan as well. I want to make it look Brown and dark like hers. I tried editing in Lightroom with one of my pictures, but could not reach the same eftect. However, the owner of the image confirmed lightroom has been used although it has not provided a tutorial. I tried saturating the reds, but it doesn't seem to work :/

  I don't have the original photo since it was only uploaded photo.

  Could not create this effect of skin tone at least with images like these?

  If you have a picture where you can change the world one color, then the Panel of LGV is very useful.

  In your picture skintone (yellow/orange) is 'global' and can easily be obscured by selecting [luma], by clicking on the 'targeted adjustment tool' and dragging the luminance of the skin down with the mouse.

  He may not always get the job done, but worth a try.

  

• Photo printing PMS color (+ 4CP press)

  I am a designer catalog for a clothing company. Normally, we print 4CP and it is very important that our garment colours are printed accurately in our 50-100 page catalogs. We have a new color of clothing that is so fluorescent (bright pink), we cannot achieve through 4CP. I have a Pantone matching, and we intend to print this 4CP + 1 color Pantone catalogue.

  What is the best way for me to save this photo/photoshop link 1 clothing for my InDesign file? I am familiar with Duotone-can I use my PMS 812 + Magenta to get the right color? When I use my 812 PMS as a monotonous, the color of the garment is too light. However, I'm afraid, with 812 + Magenta looks good on the screen, but using the magenta may remove that fluorescent look, we need to print. Also, what is the best way to achieve the regular search on top of this PMS color fluorescent shadows? It is difficult to correct colors when our desktop printers cannot print this true PMS 812.

  A spot channel is the way to get separation, but there is no way to profile, CMYK + Spot and get a specific app or the evidence composite printed the way you can with right up to CMYK. Throwing a few curves on the channels and go directly to the production without proof of the press is asking for trouble.
