• Place images in Illustrator changes their color values - why?

  I've been put photoshop tiff files in Illustrator, and this seems to change the color values, when I sample with the eyedropper tool. The images that I did use a custom mix of intense Black of CMYK, with the K value of 100. In Illustrator, they seem to go back to the default "black Photoshop' value, about C75 M68 Y67 K90. It is not my intention to C70 M60 Y58 K100. The Illustrator document's CMYK mode, and I don't know why this is happening. No graphic elements (vectors) in my illustrator file retain the color values, I intended, however.

  Is this some kind of framework that I can change in Illustrator? This gap will be displayed when this file goes to print? Help, please! Thank you.

  When the image is not embedded, Illustrator samples the values of representation. Those that are managed by color management.

  Hello I have this problem in CS5 that any type of image or line art are always blurred. All my work is for print and maybe just the overview is fuzzy, but I'm afraid that the impression will be bad.

  More graphic, in that I bring you come from Photoshop CS5. I make sure you are 300 DPI to start and they recently learned that they should not be in RGB but CMYK mode.

  The images that I should also mention when placed are very small and I scale to be in the right size. I don't know why they do not place in their original size. So, basically, it's small size and blur.

  
  Any help on this matter is sensitive. I am new to Illustrator and want to learn more about him, because it seems to be a great tool to use for printing.

  I think that the solution to your problem starts in photoshop. Most printers require 2 X lpi (lines per inch) resolution and the most common screen is 150 lpi (133 or 175 are the next most common), so therefore 300 dpi (dots per inch) standard resolution requirement. Open your image in photoshop > Image > image size > uncheck resample image > change your resolution at 300 dpi, if it is not, and save. I bolded that cause thath setting is very important, and you should familiarize yourself intimately with hwo everthing in the works of image size. This deactivation will not add or remove pixels, but will adjust the size of your image if you change the 300 dpi.

  

  Now when you place the image in Illustrator, you will know that your image is exactly 300 dpi. If you resize your image smaller, no problem your effective resolution will be > 300 DPI and which never hurts. If you resize your larger image in Illustrator, then you know that your resolution will be less than 300 dpi. Now, you can better assess the quality of your reproduction of the image.

  I can't import images into Illustrator CS6. Drag does not work. "Place" command does not work. Any ideas? I uninstalled and reinstalled.

  Everytime I try and place an image (either simply place an image or an opening) in Illustrator CS4 for Windows - for some reason, the images appear in about 1/3 the size they should be.

  I go to view > actual size and this shows that the image is 100% but it is obvious that the images are nowhere near 100% (see attached ai.cs4.jpg). This could be the cause? I opened the same images (I know because I'm drawing from my office and I know I'm pulling the same files to avoid confusion) in Fireworks CS4 and it pulls open correctly the right size, the same time - every time (see fw.cs4.jpg).

  I'm really trying to come to grips with Illustrator, but this simple task is driving me crazy.

  We have created a new document in illustrator, lets call it the label. In another document, I have created logo that has been converted to outlines - Logo. It is made from a police and some lines etc. and then merged and vectorized. The opening tag I do all the text shown (Type > create contour) but I can't get the vectorised Logo. I realized I need to see "a blue line and points" following the shape of the Logo in order to know that it has been described.

  That make us hurt? Printers are getting desperate...

  Object > flatten transparency > turn it on vectors.

  The above should work, but you can also open the file of the logo, copy, close and paste this in your document "label".

• 'place' blurry images Photoshop Illustrator - at check in .pdf file?

  I edited some images in Photoshop for use in a .pdf file I created in Illustrator.

  In PS, images was beautiful and have been registered with the following parameters: .jpg/CMYK/Image Options: 10/Maximum. I have "placed" in the Illustrator file, everything was always wonderful, but I exported all of the .pdf file, the pictures came out blurry.

  The resolution is 300 dpi for images of three, all pixels of 170 x 100, which is also the size, they are used to in Illustrator.

  I note also that during the "placement" images in Illustrator, regardless of the type of file, the images are invariably much smaller that originally saved as. It's never happened before.
  

  Any ideas on how to have clean images, in the PDF?

  Things, I tried with no sign of improvement:

  Standard, high quality print and print quality save settings

  Save images as .jpg, .tiff, .psd in Photoshop to place in Illustrator

  'Link' and no 'link' when you place it in Illustrator

  Save images 2 x and 3 x the size in Photoshop to reduce in Illustrator

  And a cap perforated how I'm viewing the PDF with the images at 100% in Acrobat:
  

  
  

  The quality is affected by their scaling upwards - at least if that's what you were doing with the placed files.

  170px wide at 300 dpi works be 0,5667 inches wide. Did you leave them this size or you increase their width/height?

  If you resize them, what size do you want in the publication? Let's say that you want them to be 2 "wide. 2 inches x 300 DPI is 600px wide at 300 dpi.

  Edit to add * using my desired example 2 "width, if we place a 170px 300 dpi image, enlarged width 2", the effective DPI is approximately 83 dpi.

• Why finder hide Documents and office files in the home directory of the user by activating iCloud drive? What about the behavior of Time Machine backup or third-party applications?

  I'm under MacOS Sierra. I am connected to my iCloud account. I activated the option Desktop and Documents, but I did NOT activate the option optimize Mac storage, because I wanted to make sure that all my files would be available locally, just in case, I would need to work without an internet connection.

  -J' noticed there now a menu iCloud in my sidebar in the Finder, with links to Documents and desktop.

  -J' also noticed that Documents is no longer presented in my favorites in my side bar of the Finder.

  -This last suggests that files saved in 'Documents' are not saved more on my HD... but only in iCloud, which isn't what I want.

  -Then, sailing in the Finder Macintosh HD/users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are more visible, as if these files are not saved in my home folder most. Which raises the question: where are My Documents and files on my HD, so they are still?

  -Using a shell session in the terminal and again navigate to/Users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are still there. Which suggest that records and records of office reside actually still in my home folder under users, but Finder actually hide it and present them as being stored in iCloud only disc. It's very confusing.

  This raises several questions:

  -In the first place, why Apple hide Documents and office files in the directory? Why not view these folders in iCloud and directory?

  -Whence the iCloud folder or drive, reside actually on my hard drive?

  -What time Machine. Is it still back up my document files and folders?

  -What games third-party app mirroring backup of My Documents files and folders? They still work properly? (I use Livedrive backup and Sugarsync for files mirrored across several macs).

  -How can I understand that Apple is doing with my folders and files? Some users might be happy with the iCloud drive concept, without worrying about how it works, but I don't take chances, and I want to keep a good understanding about the functioning of my system.

  With office and selected Documents, access to these files are now in the iCloud Drive, not in your home folder.

  My guess would be that they do not appear in your file because it would be confusing for many people to make them in two places.

  If you want in the Favorites, open iCloud Drive and drag them in the sidebar here.

  All about iCloud drive has been saved on your Mac. With the exception of the office and the Documents, they are in ~/Library/Mobile Documents. However, if you choose optimized storage, older documents are removed from your Mac. I don't know what is "old".

  ~/Documents and ~/desktop have new metadata indicating probably Finder does not display them in a Finder window, only in iCloud drive. They are not hidden in one of the normal methods of unix.

  I have not tested Time Machine or any other backup program. The folder still exist in your directory home, and they still have all the files, I don't think that changes anything.

  It is not surprising that "everyone has a different way to do this." In Photoshop that is common. Try this:

  1. open a new file large enough to accommodate five drawings.

  2. open each design, click on it in the layers panel and drag and drop it in the layers panel to the new file.

  3. Repeat until all are in the new file

  4. use the move tool to reposition. (They are on separate layers)

  5 flatten the file if you wish (but save a version not flattened for future editing)

  Probably, you have opened a file image (raster). Try to make a new document and use the file > place to insert the image.

• How to place an image on a document?

  I tried to create a plugin to place images in the Photoshop document using a Mac based on the current draft "Dissolve" provided in the SDK of CC.

  I'm at the stage of trying to place an image in a document. To find the code for this I have built the listener plugin and ran through the steps of using Photoshop menu item 'File: Place '.... "to place an image (I tried up to this gifs and EPSes) on a document. I then looked at the generated code and tried to build a function to do what I wanted that.

  However, when I try to run it I got the following error message: "Could not complete the order to dissolve because of a program error."

  I'll add the current form of my code at the end to not clutter up my comments.

  If I comment the line with "sPSActionControl-> Play ("then error disappears." (Of course then nothing happens.)

  A few notes:

  (1) I did not store the exact layout of the output of the headphone plugin. The compiler complained about the goto methods listener added.

  (2) I am under that in an objective-C++ class (which is triggered by a file with a m-m postfix).

  (3) there are statements NSLog to help me understand the problem. I see the number 7, but I never see the final error code. It looks like an exception.

  (4) I kept old code that I tried commenting, then you will see some of my thinking that I had a hard time with this.

• You can export images that have been glued in an Illustrator document as separate files?

  I have a document Illustrator of several pages (more than 50 work plans) which contains a lot of images that are all stored in the document (without link in separate files) and all images must be exported as separate image files (similar to when you compress a file in Indesign). The problem is the files are not related, they are all saved in the document.

  You want to avoid having to copy + paste each image into a new document in Photoshop, then save them individually because it will take forever.

  Save the PDF document and open it in Photoshop. Select only the Images in the dialog box open and continue from there.

  • We can output from multiple layers into a single PDF in illustrator?  Or several layers in single format JPEG from illustrator with a single command instead to save individually each layer... would be a huge timesaver for me. I create different works on different layers...
  • Currently I pulled out each layer individually filled then right-click on these JPEG output files in the output folder and choose "combine taken supported files in acrobat... "to create a unique acrobat... I would do things in Illustrator "save to PDF" dialog box. Add something in the Save to output PDF save layers to a single PDF as dialog box several pages would be a useful time saver...

  Output of layers multiple to several files seems to be a step backward. I guess you used several layers because that Illustrator had no feature of multiple pages or multiple-work plan. It does now, your request is rendered null and void.
