  I just bought a T5500, he came with the C2 SATA all drives, no RAID, 2 total configuration of the disk and I think that the integrated Intel chipset SATA 3.0 GB/s controller. I would like to improve it with an SSD with SATA 6 Gbps. Reading other forums, I think I need a different controller but that is all I have to do this work. I also saw that I needed to take a few steps in the BIOS and windows 7 to adequately use the SSD as boot drive.  Does anyone have experience with this type of upgrade?  Thanks in advance!

  The Intel SATA controller on the system is blocked to 3.0 GB/s - you can only make it any faster. However, you can get something like this:

  You can use an SSD with this speed. And since it will unload the controller to use a PCI-e card you could leave your RAID in place.

  It doesn't matter if you do or not, you need to set your SATA controller in AHCI mode in the BIOS. I've never had to do it on a T5500 so I can't tell where exactly it would be in the BIOS but it is usually under 'Storage' or 'Storage controllers.'

  Back up your data first course of a RAID on an AHCI (or do both at once) will require you to reinstall Windows. So make sure that you have all copied a safe place off the coast of the Precision Workstation before you do. See updates section to see if your BIOS has an update.   I work with a Lenovo Y530 computer laptop (ab00216104). After a few years, the battery ceased to maintain a charge so I ordered a new third party like Lenovo temporarily stopped selling them. The new battery worked fine at first but, after a few minutes I get the message "battery plugged in, does not support" of the battery lower-left icon. It just stops charging the battery, but it will take place off the coast of the battery until it is unloaded. At first, I thought it was a bad battery however by many trial and error, I discovered the battery works fine. Let me explain.

  If I uninstall "control method battery compatible acpi Microsoft" in the Device Manager and reboot my computer with my card wireless off then the battery will work perfectly. It is not up to what I connect to the internet that it suddenly stops to load again. It is in the case once my computer is able to access to the internet and update of "control method battery compatible acpi Microsoft" that the problem occurs.

  As much, as I know there is no way to prevent it from updating once he establishes a connection and no way for "rolling back drivers" as long as this option is grayed out. I would be very happy any advice on this situation, thank you.

• No there is no way for me to create a set of media to recover for 8.1 if I did one for 8.0 previously?

  I have "created a set of recovery media" for my laptop when I had only had it a few days and it's Windows 8.0.

  Well, a few days later I was asked to move to 8.1, which I did, and it looks like I'm stuck with the support of 8.0 recovery.  It says "recovery media was created on 22-12-2013."  You are only allowed to create a set of recovery media.

  If I had been aware that I was going to be offered to update to 8.1 would take place off the coast, but now it looks like I'm stuck with the old recovery media.

  Is there any way around this?  In the case of a recovery, I really don't have to recover to 8.0, and then restart the upgrade to 8.1.

  Haven't you * have * to install Windows 8.1.  You should if you want to continue to receive updates after some time in late 2015...  You don't have to install the update Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) either.  You should if you want to continue to receive updates for your Windows 8.1 system already after June 2014.

  No current updates to get rid of the Menu screen start (tiles) at all.  Don't know what the worry is there.  No current updates include a return (or same option for) the traditional Windows XP through Windows 7 Start Menu button.

  Chrome is still usable on Windows 8.1 and after updating Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) - I don't expect that to change.  So is Firefox and Opera.  You can set ONE of them as your default browser, etc.

  Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 upgrade and/or update of the update of the Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) should have NO EFFECT on your install programs such as those you mentioned.  Products of Microsoft Office 2007, Google Chrome, etc.  Modernization and updating are just that - in-place.  All your requests and such should remain intact and everything you've heard the contrary was false or bad luck.

  That being said - with ANY change to a computer (including the turn just turned off/lit) - backups remain the best protection.  Before making any changes that you control like these (especially when they change the underlying BONE) - perform a full backup of the system - an IMAGE backup if possible - of media EXTERNAL which will NOT be connected to the system for the change itself.  It's just wise.

  In short, I think your boredom has more things that are simply not true that all reality of the situation.  Rumors and FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt)... nothing more.  I hope that this response can put your mind at ease and you listen and follow the advice given here and then proceed thereafter as a positive experience.

  You must keep a record of all your product keys and serial numbers and a backup copy of the installation media for your products.  In this case, given what you have, especially your Microsoft Office Word 2007 documents.  You should take note of your product key and have the installation media for it in a safe place off the computer in question - because anything CAN (and sometimes do) happen.

  This last would also give you some serial numbers and product keys for your products installed (Yes, Microsoft Office Word 2007 included) and you should always back up your own copy of the installation media - but it also lists system specifications so that you can print the results and know later what is your video card, your processor , your understanding of memory, the chipset of your motherboard, you network card, etc.  All the things you need to know to troubleshoot or to upgrade or even rebuild the system from scratch.

  OK, so when I initially exported a project to create the output file was 1.32 GB.

  When I export the same project with the same settings, same bitrate audio, exact data rate pre-defined, same same, etc.., why is the exported file 1.62 GB, which is larger than estimated, 1258 MB and same file size even more, bigger than the file that has been exported by CS5 on the same settings?

  Were there new default settings that changed the compression of the video in Media Encoder CS6? Is there something that needs to be changed? I find it odd that the files are larger in CS6 espacilly if it's the same exact export settings.

  What are your settings of multiplexers? I ask for two reasons: a) the CS6, we changed the multiplexing Bitrate Type for all constant to Variable MPEG2 presets and CS5.5 b) had a bug where the filling was not added when multiplexing Bitrate Type has the constant value (meaning that throughput resulting for multiplexed output was not really constant); This bug is fixed in CS6. I don't know if (a) could be to increase the size of your file, but would certainly be b.

  If multiplexing Bitrate Type for both your old and new presets constant value, then it is to be expected that the resulting CS6 file will be larger due to padding. I don't know if QuickTime (or MediaInfo or any other application that reports the properties of the clip) represents the padding that was missing in the output of 5.5 MPEG2, but is present in the output of 6.0.

  After this error, the application keeps loading (Nothing happends, no message and error) and the newspaper this message keeps repeating to appear every few seconds:
  < IdentityStoreUtil > < getIdentityStoreFactory > cannot initialize the identity store.
  < PageUtils > < getUserName > cannot get the user name
  
  ISID anyone encounter this error and was able to fix it?
  Or can someone help me fix this error?
  
  I tried to clean my JDeveloper home dir (I deleted the entire system11.1.1.4.37.59.23 dir).
  If I try to connect to the console I can connect with the weblogic user and I can navigate through the console.

• CS4 Extended - how to avoid selecting text layers

  I'm working on the creation of an image with a number of layers of text, most located in the groups that I have hidden while I work. The problem is, I have so many layers of text, whenever I click to add another line of text, I end up hitting one of the layers of text in my groups hidden instead.

  Type my text in some emerging location and by dragging position is seriously embarrassing (and I'm running out of places off the beaten track). Is there a way I can stop my text tool to select layers in the hidden groups?

  Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on the image with

  the text tool is expected to put the text into a new layer.
