• place pictures, reassemble the slices, layer problems

  I create a sprite for images that I have in the bridge. I placed pictures of button from the bridge.  I tried to merge the layers, so there is only one layer for the sprite.  When I did the fusion of the images got locked on the background layer, and I can't move the images on the layer up buttons.  I created a layer named background who was black, so I could see the greyed better buttons while their reassembly of the slices.  I will turn off the background layer, after the set pieces in place.

  Because the images have been locked, I started on and noticed when the canvas the canvas has a background color and layers have also contained bottom of sizing.  I just need a dark background, I can't turn off once I get all the set pieces in place so I can see the really light buttons.  I don't know if I need a background or not.

  Also as I placed the images that I noticed when I clicked on the image in the fireworks of Bridge lights.  It's well boring.  I thought I was in double clicking on images in the bridge and opened the Fireworks I barely touched the images and it always open a fireworks.  How do I disable Fireworks so it doesn't open at all.  I don't need.

  I suppose that if I merge the images on the first layer, the images can be moved with the move tool.  I unlocked the premiera I tried which merged the background layer and it created a layer named layer0 and I still couldn't move the images with the hand tool.

  I also noticed that as I put images some of them went all on the same document, but some of them have started a new document.  I intend to do all on a single document, and I don't know why he started a second and some of the images added to the second file?

  It's getting there, thanks.  Now I can see all the slices in the groups and placed on the grid, and I see all the slices with a backgorund color...

  The problem is the designer cut the buttons with a small thin slice in the middle and the 2 end brackets, so I do not know the dimensions of the orig.  For example, there is a button on the tab, I have a slice left and right enda and a slice of the middle.   I copy the Middle so many times to redo the button to connect to the ends.  The tab key is supposed to be 101 pixels on the web once I created the sprite.

  So I make this sprite, and I don't know what is the size of the tab key should be resized to be 101 x 30 pixels on the web?   My canvas size is 520 x 520 px 792K.  The size of the image has the value in inches.  The column of the grid is 12 points width of 180 points.  The leaders are in pixels.  It took the place of the grid of the sprite to 50 pixels, so I see what I'm doing.   I would 2 tab button units in the grid, more another length of hair for 101 pixels?

  I'm guessing but the designer left a tab_background.psd which I don't know exactly what to do with, but it has a marked grid line every 4 units (4 x 50 px) because my bottom of the sprite is set to 50px per square. 4 x 50 is 200px but the web tab should be 30px x 101px.   Wouldn't not normal to create larger then resize it smaller in the web? Also, the height is 30px.  so 50x50px square grids don't really make sense, because with the image placed on the bottom, it is square on the 4 top grid units.  I just need to be 30px by 101 px but the picture fill the height of the 4 squares.  My 50x50px grid each unit must be too big.  I placed the tab_background.psd on my sprite as well and place the buttons tab on it.  There are other buttons which are not legs but I do not have the dimensions, the buttons are supposed to be on the web but not in Photoshop since I've recreated it.

  I also notice that I can't use the selection tool to copy the middle piece and place to recreate the central part of the image of the button. The command copy to edit is grayed out.  I don't want to have to keep putting this middle on the sprite times the bridge.  I only need to copy 4 or 5 times to complete the button maybe less. • Place pictures in XD

  Is there a mechanism similar to the InDesign file > Place within XD?

  I know that I can drag and drop images form Finder objects XD and also can do the same to the bridge. It is to juggle windows so that I can see the source and the target at the same time and in general feels clumsy. It would be convenient to choose file > place as you would in InDesign and then enter a bunch of images to load in the "gun". Similarly, it would be really nice to see XD appear in the Bridge file > Place menu.

  Maybe it's the thing already exists, and I'm not? Or maybe that I ' am doing wrong? Any case welcome.

  Hi, Mike.

  You can import multiple items by using the import command (file > import, or Cmd-Shift-I). While we do not have an explicit command of the Place, he will have at least multiple images in your file with a command. Regarding the bridge, the best place to put who is in the bridge forum:

• Place pictures (screenshots) to legends - best practices?

  Illustrator CS6, Windows 7

  I am placing screenshots (screenshots of the software) in the files of my work to add captions and create illustrations for a user manual.

  The machine I'm capture has a screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 (required for software). I am using Snagit and capture screens, saving files, then place in Illustrator. I am using minimum 300 dpi and never upsizing images in Illustrator. I still think that my results could not be better.

  In the past, I used .jpg as my export filetype for placement in Illustrator. But these recent readings of messages in this community lead me to believe that my practice might be defective.

  Question: What is considered best practice to place the screenshot images (or any source) in Illustrator? What kind of capture file will get the results of the lighter and more adaptable?

  My color mode of Illustrator file is CMYK and my other art and legends supporting the perforated Cap work very well.

  I am creating the work for import into Framemaker and create a PDF file for print and online.

  I want to say is; What is the user looking at, and what you are training on?

  For example, if the application includes part of your documents and medical imaging covers something like the assessment of medical images in the application, it would probably be a scenario much more color-critical application in which the user just displays and manipulates the data.

  Generally, you don't need something like 300 PPI for screen captures in documentation of the software. The whole intention is to the image of resemble the screen you document, which is something like 72 or 96 DPI at full size. You can reduce a screenshot as much less 50%, but at this size, the drive shows the text of the application (including the menus, etc.) to half of such size as displayed in the app, which is supposed to be sized for comfortable reading. The sharpness is good. You don't want the images to fade in the pursuit of pointless "resolution."

  Also in General, screenshots of the software are not usually colour-critical. Implementation (same sticky of SnagIt) directly in the page layout application is usually very good. PostScript knows how to separate RGB images. These things have been done for a long time before anyone who sweated blood on "color management." Assuming that the interface of your application uses Garish colors (which would be the poor interface design; it's tiring), I dare say that the conversion of RGB to CMYK screenshots to the imagesetter or press would be nice.

  How to print manual? Unless you're talking about a large prints of the press, today the software (subject to frequent updates) documentation is often printed on presses on demand (think glorified digital color, photocopiers) presses not leaves. With the documentation of the software, you're talking about aren't usually the collection of coffee table books. (The exception would be something like a book on the color in Photoshop correction; so my first question.)

  I always paste screenshots of SnagIt directly into InDesign pages to document software applications and add captions in InDesign. Only when I need some special graphics (plunging arrows, etc.) Assemble the captions for the screenshots in Illustrator; and even when I do that I have usually also paste the SnagIt capture directly to HAVE.

  Keep your native legends for better page layout program facilitates language translation, when you need to outsource that.

  If I understand the questions correctly and you want to add another image rollover under the first.

  1. in design mode, make sure that your cursor is just after the first rollover image that is already in place. Then make a shift enter or return to create a line break. Now insert the next rollover by using the Insert menu image > image object > rollover image. This is a way I did in the past if I use bearings.

  My company uses Dropbox to organize client work, it acts as a shared server between all departments to the office. Some of these departments are not part of our creative services team.   I'm unable to find a solution to my problem, is it possible to put an image next to the ether of a spry menu, but not as a background image, I tried dragging, deletion and insertion of images but dreamwever keeps placing them armel the menu spry itself is there any way to get around this or anything that I cannot know who is logging the image beside alsong rather than the spry menu?

  Switch to code view and insert your images at the beginning and end of your Spry nav div.  Not sure if it will work as expected, but it's worth a try.

  End caps are most often added to the background.

• I want pictures on my files so that I know what they contain. All I can get are icons. Pictures save a lot of typing.

• Printers HP Envy 110F AIO D411a with cover (door to scan).

  I was installing my new printer Envy when the lid hinges are out. I find it very difficult to get the door back on and the hinges back in holes it and don't break anything. Is there a procedure or a trick to achieve this? I'm tempted to use a screwdriver to lift, but it seems it would be very easy to break the plastic. Any ideas what should I do with this?
