  With the help of this forum, I became good at playing tunes on my BB, which I use as an aid in the practice of the choir.

  But it seems that I can play one signal, using Manager.playTone, or I can play a sequence of notes using a ToneControl to setSequence() and a PlayerListener realize() and play() sequence. Synchronization with the latter approach is nice, because of the ability of the PlayerListener.playerUpdate (a) to respond to an event such as END_OF_MEDIA.

  My problem is to combine these two approaches. I want to play sequences, but be able to "take them apart" and just play small parts of them, even single notes.

  I need a way to detect a type END_OF_MEDIA of event with playTone, or so to begin setSequence() at any time in the melody. Any of these seem possible.  Help!

  PlayTone doesn't seem to have all the events associated with it, and after I do a PlayerListener.play () I can't play another sequence without a lot of overhead - certainly not so that I can play 'sequences' that consists of simple notes.

  Is there a way to play a melody and take control when each notes starts and stops?

  I'm pretty sure that playTone generates no events. After all, this is a static method, and there is no available Player object with which register a PlayerListener. I think that playTone() is just a convenience method that executes these steps internally:

  1. Create a player by calling Manager.createPlayer (Manager.TONE_DEVICE_LOCATOR).
  2. Make the player and get a ToneControl object by calling getControl ("ToneControl")
  3. Create a sequence of bytes of tone control to represent the arguments passed to playTone() and set the sequence for the ToneControl.
  4. Start the player.

  In short, you can do these steps yourself instead of calling playTone(). In this way, you have access to a player object, you can save a PlayerListener and so you know when the tone is complete.

  The funny thing is that I tried the same code with a MIDlet and it works well in Nokia and Sony Ericsson simulators, but Blackberry is locked. I'm missing something here?

  I found the solution, the problem was that my emulator had no access to the internet, when he tried to connect to the URL and get the .wav file it so never found the source.

  As of recently, I have noticed some glitches when feeding on my MacBook or awakened from his sleep.

I'm tracking closely it because at this rate, my battery will survive only at load cycles about 150 instead of the 1000 expected, gives me the idea that this could very well be a bad battery. The computer is also warm to the touch while you sleep, not connected to the power supply. I NAP active but even taking into account should not be hotter my iPhone did the same thing.

  I have reset the SMC, and it solved a couple of problems. The charger works fine now and my performance improved considerably (which made me feel better, either it is a high-performance laptop, a 11-inch MacBook Air should not he surpass), and battery life has improved.   After reviewing your post, it seems that you are having problems with the screen showing strange things on it. Looks like you already have a troubleshooting. I recommend you read this article, as reset NVRAM would be to reset your screen resolution settings that should help.
