Playing hearts

I played 814 games of hearts and won 324 of them.  No matter how many games I win on the percentage is never more than 39%.  Sometimes it breaks down if I lose games in a row, but he never goes from 39 percent.  The game is preset to not go above 39%?  Can I change the settings somehow for me to exceed this number?

At the moment if you won 324 on 814 games what amounts to 39.8%, so assuming rounding error, your hearts program is showing the correct percentage.

Don't forget that when you've played a lot of games there are a greater number of additional wins (or losses) before the percentage display will change. For example:

-Suppose you had played only 4 games and had a 2 of them your percentage gain would be 50%. If you have earned while a game would have won you 3 of the 5 games and win you percentage would be jumped 60%.

-now, let's say you had played 800 games and had won 400 games, your win percentage would be 50%, as in the previous example. However if you now win your next match while you won 401 on 801 your percentage of victory would only be 50.0062... % that rounds easily 50% - in other words, no apparent change.

There is no percentage of victory of max preset heart I don't know - it wouldn't make sense. Therefore, there is no adjustment in the hearts to remove such a context.

I suggest calculate you your percentage of victory manually - if your manual calculation this 40% or more and the program still shows only 39% then there seems to be a bug in the program.

PS You can reset you statistics squared won thus losing all your game data until pushing (hearts) F4 and then try again.

  • Hearts game runs too slow to play in windows 7, even on fast computers

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: I love playing hearts in windows while I'm waiting on other things to finish.  Since installing windows 7, I find hearts so painfully slowly that I can enjoy is no longer.  My computer has 2 processors xeon to dual-core @ 3 Ghz and 8 GB RAM with NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500 video card, so I don't think it is hardware related.  I have disabled everything I can in the menu options, including animations, but the game is simply too slow to enjoy.

  • Game of hearts on XP is able to be played on Windows 7

I love Windows 7.  This is the first time I've been effusive at all on what MS has offered in the way of operating, but in this case, apart from a few, relatively minor issues, I am impressed.  Thank you very much.

What I am curious is the new games offered with Windows 7.  I like all of them except the hearts.  I used to kill time between jobs by playing hearts on XP and earlier operating systems and has come to this, even if it is the player against 3 players who knew of the player's hand more intimately than the player don't.  In any case, I could learn to play and he beat.  That has not changed at all under Windows 7, it seems to have the same engine. However, the game is now so slow, it's boring and such, I can handle is no longer.

So, can I copy my XP version of hearts in Win 7?  I will have no penalty in doing this, as I have on a XP virtual machine on my 7 machine.  If Yes, what dll etc is to be applied with it?

    See you soon

  • Windows 7: hearts animation speed

In the last version of hearts, animation speed is set at a rate that should allow new or typical of the players enough time watching the cards before they are erased. However, the ability to adjust the speed of the animation in the XP version of heart is no longer present in Vista and Win 7. For experienced players and those who prefer the faster pace, it's like the old version being pasted on the slow. As for me, it ruined the game. Although the graphical improvements are nice, I like is no longer play hearts because of the slow pace, flickering, choppy. Even turn off animation doesn't help much. The game is inadmissible to the clicks of the mouse for a few seconds and doesn't buffer, so you continually wait for animations complete. Of course the internal delay timers are needed, otherwise modern processors would make the game a blur. However, the ability to adjust the animation speed should not have been deleted.

There is already a thread on this topic: hearts - speed up the game, but I think it was incorrectly marked as replied, so I wanted to revisit this issue in a new thread.

You can speed up the hearts in Windows 7 by clicking on the game whenever it stops.  Who will toimmediately take the following action.

    Hi Rangerlone88,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Do you get the display only problem with the games online, or also on the desktop?

What browser do you use to go online?

If you use Internet Explorer, you can check the level of zoom in the bottom right of the screen and set it to your liking.

You can also try to optimize Internet Explorer.

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Security, and then click delete browsing history.
    3. In delete the browsing history area, click Remove.

A progress bar is displayed to indicate that the browsing history is currently disabled. Once this process is complete, test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly.

  • Games: suggestion for improving the hearts

Too often when playing hearts one point thing is taken so quickly that he cannot know whether or not a point was taken.  It would be a simple addition of coding to change the color of the name of a player who has picked up a point. This could be done?

    I realize, it's a minor thing but it's a major irritation.

    Thank you

  • Games included with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Games included in the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits have been modified and differs from the Vista installation. example - in the game of hearts - open cards inside were all very common from left to right, and it's very tiring for the eyes, constantly looking for left to right. in Vista, open at the bottom cards were tightly compressed makes it easier for the eyes.

with Windows 7 for sure if you get cross-eyed playing hearts, your business can get justice for product liability. just a clock - so if you have the time to do the previous update, I imagine that customers would be happier.

You are right in the spacing.  You can take the game to exit full screen mode and narrow down the window is easier on the eyes.

  • Black screen, then automatic reboot

If it isn't one thing, it's another. You guys have been up to perfect present to solve my problems, so here's one for you. I get a black screen suddenly casual with an automatic restart, sometimes with an error message that says that my computer "has recovered from a serious error".  Sometimes it doesn't even bother with that.  Now, let me tell you how that made my life: I'm an old fart who like to play online card games. In the 1960s to play hearts, I've never played a perfect match. I was just a touch away from my first perfect game when the screen went black. AAAAAAAGH!  The first person who solves this problem will be first in my will - even in front of my wife and grandchildren.
