InterVideo WinDVD in P-30 S655

Hello.
I just bought the laptop Satellite P-30 and WinDVD player does not display correctly when I open it.
The software is installed with the laptop and there is no way that reinstall just the DVD player, because it is on the recovery CD and it only works for a complete reinstallation of the operating system.
Anyone have an idea how I can reinstall the DVD player?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
P-30 (Tommy)

Hello

as far as I know that you bought your laptop, you've got a few other additional CD! WinDVD is a software under license, so in my opinion, you should get it!

Look if you find additional software CD or search on the CD tools & security.

    Hello

As far as I know Toshiba doesn't provide any codec for this software.
The WinDVD was designed by Intervideo and you should check the manufacturer's Web site.

Maybe you DVD peripheral has incorrect region settings?
All DVD ROM devices use the DVD region settings. This means that most of the DVDs are encoded for play in specific regions. You can change the region a limited number of times. I think you can change it 4 times.
To change the DVD region please right click on the DVD device. Then, go to the Hardware tab. Here, you select the DVD drive ad press the properties button. You will find the DVD region tab.

    Shaks

I put t know exactly why the Win DVD hangs but especially something like that could be linked to the software files corrupt or confused.

I think that the best solution might be the reinstallation of WinDVD software.

Do you use the preinstalled WinDVD?
If Yes, then you need to run the recovery CD because the WinDVD is a part of the image of Toshiba which is placed on the recovery CD.

  • Tecra M2: unable to read DVD or use WinDVD 4

Recently, I replaced my Tecra M2(: MODEL NO PTM20E-0MTGR-EN, SERIAL # 54579007G) hard drive and reinstalled windows xp.

I did most of my files on an external drive, but I don't have the original installation discs. I am now unable to read DVD or use Win DVD 4 (which came with the machine.

Is there a file I can download to reinstall dvd playback or otherwise what method can I use to wind dvd port 4 from the external hard drive (there the dll and .exe file but no installation file)

    Thanks for your help

If you have written about WinDVD player bundled with the laptop, in this case, the situation is as follows: WinDVD player is part of the installation image and may not be downloaded from the Toshiba download page.

If you want to use the same application, you need to download a free version of the download from producer page or buy it as all other applications. When you buy the computer Toshiba laptop to ensure that each customer can view DVDs and install WinDVD player. If you use original recovery image, you can use it every time but if you want to use your own OS, in this case you are solely responsible for the installation of the OS and software to use.

If you have preinstalled with success the OS I recommend using any DVD player application. Intervideo WinDVD, one do not.

  • Toshiba Portege R500 - can I download WinDVD?

    Hello

I have install Vista on my R500, but not with the Vista DVD included for PC Toshiba.
I have install Vista from original VISTA DVD, ultimate version and my problem is, I want an InterVideo WinDVD for TOSHIBA.
Is possible download this program from any place of toshiba?

    Thank you
    Robert

    Hello

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and if you are looking for Portege R500 you will find WinDVD in download section. But if you read the details for this download you will find the following information:
    > Make sure that the system has been updated for Windows Vista SP1 and loaded with "InterVideo WinDVD for TOSHIBA.

That means on the download European driver of Toshiba page that you can find an update.

If you need another player to watch DVDs. I prefer VLC media player. It s freeware and can play most audio and video files. A great player and I never had any problems with it.
    It s worth a try! ;)

  • Qosmio G20: How can I reinstall the WinDVD?

My Intervideo WinDVD program is defective.

Reistall I can without reistall the operating system completely?

Windows XP Mediacenter - Qosmio G20.
    Thank you

You can reinstall this app if you have separately on a single CD.
On the restore CD, you will find image files that contain the operating system, drivers, tools and utilities and this application.
The WinDVD was preinstalled on the image, and I know he has not released on the CD single.

You are going to buy this program WinDVD or you must use the recovery CD.

By the way: have you tried to use the System Restore tool?
Still, this tool allows you to set the operating system to the beginning.
Maybe then the WinDVD will work

  • WinDVD for Toshiba - no function screen Cap?

    Hello

I just bought myself a Toshiba A200 15I (I think it's the name of the model, or something c. similar in any case) and I'm just starting to get comfortable with it.

One thing I noticed it's a disappointment is that the version of WinDVD, I had with this laptop is different to the one I'm used to, I've got WinDVD 4.0 on my old laptop and one that came with my new laptop is a specific version of Hitachi (InterVideo WinDVD "Toshiba").

One thing that I really like WinDVD on my old laptop is now that he allows me to take screenshots of the video/DVD files I play on it but I can't find any mention of a feature of Cape screen on this version of Hitachi of it. After a while, I found the help section and searched for screenshot, but nothing helped, so im guessing he is not there (?)

If Yes, I checked and managed to find the CD for my old laptop that contains WinDVD 4.0 but I'm not sure if it would be safe to uninstall the current version of Hitachi and try installing that, as the CD of WinDVD 4.0 is specially for my old laptop Fujitsu Siemens (it is one of the CD that came with the laptop and FSC (Fujitsu Siemens Computers) wrote next to the version number) as it is a few years ive no idea if it would be at all compatible with Vista and my new laptop obv. a Vista (Home Premium). I don't know if it would be a good idea to have installed either both, we could confuse the system with two WinDVDs installed on a computer (?).

Am I right in thinking the Hitachi program WinDVD don't let me do / select screenshots? If Yes, what is the best thing to do, so I have a program that will allow me to quickly and easily get caps of video files and DVD... is there a known Vista friendly program that would allow me to do this as an alternative? or WinDVD 4.0 works well and it would be safe for me to maybe try to install that... I don't want to risk of confusion between the system and/or uninstall Vista friendly program to finish with another who does not really I think. I checked to see if the MovieMaker version that comes with Vista, would allow me to do it, but it doesn't seem to have an option of course screen too, even if I don't check this program in pretty good detail so I could be wrong, but when the old icon of camera used to be, I did not see it... has this option been removed these programs due to legal issues or something perhaps? I never heard of something like this...

Any help is much appreciated; Thank you!

Edit:-I just noticed it says "InterVideo WinDVD for Toshiba 8.0" If that helps...

Why Don t you use another program to make the screenshots like VLC or media player classic? I mean, WinDVD is ok, but why not use more professional and perhaps more opensource and not programs of some manufacturer changed without feature for users who need a?

I suggest you look at VLC since it s a good tool and very useful. Maybe you can find more applications in that direction.

  • update of WinDVD stop Media Player DVD playback

So this one took me by surprise.

I've updated my software InterVideo WinDVD (from 4 to 5) using the update available here on the Lenovo Web site

Now when I open Windows Media Player to play a DVD, I get a message indicating that:

"DVD playback is not enabled for this drive. Click on [OK} to use InterVideo WinDVD Player for playback. "DVD playback... I would like WinDVD to play this DVD. »

So I click OK and the DVD plays fine in WinDVD.  But I want to play in WMP... I like just the interface better.

Any ideas on how to enable WMP to play the DVD?  He played them well until I update of WinDVD 5.

    Thank you

I was so happy that it seemed that Lenovo was trying to solve my problem by posting a new update of WinDVD from their download site:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-56646

The readme file seems to indicate that he would treat my problem of not being able to play DVDs in Windows Media Player.  Unfortunately, it is not not to be.  After uninstalling and reinstalling the new update, I get the same result: WMP is able to read the video but not the audio from the DVD and I get a message indicating that WMP was not allowed to read the DVD I would use WinDVD instead.

So I uninstalled WinDVD, searched my stash of older programs and found one for PowerDVD from CyberLink.  It's an old one (version 4 of 2003), but it did the trick.  My solution is to use instead of WinDVD PowerDVD. WMP plays very well on DVD.

I should have just stuck to WinDVD 4 my system initially provided with, in 1st place, rather than trying to upgrade to WinDVD 5 since the Lenovo download site.
