  I had some problems with my computer recently I knew could be solved with the system restore.  Then I went into system restore and went to a restore point that was a few weeks back.  After I clicked on it and pressing the ok button, the following message appeared: "the changes made to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»  I let it continue and do the restore.  My computer has rebooted and came up with an error in system restore that says restore failed.  It's the same thing with other restore points.  I don't know why I get this error because I not made any changes to this hard drive except for copy of a document word on him.  I thought that the System Restore monitors removable disks.  Anyone know what is happening here and how I can get the restoration of the system to operate without the mistakes to come?

  This issue may be caused if you are using the proxy settings, incorrect settings or store waiting for update needs to be installed on your computer. I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

  Step 1:

  I know this is an old thread, but I came across it looking for a solution to the same problem. It turns out that my problem has a cause simple and simple solution. Upon reboot, I decided to re - check msconfig. In msconfig > Services he showed 165 points. All had a check in the box next to them. These 165 points, 56 showed as "ongoing" the rest showed as stopped. It would be useful that I specifically what were these 56 entries?

  I continued with the troubleshooting test based on these settings initiated by Support Engineer Samhrutha G tips to reduce the selective startup (remember... it was 11 selected items)

So he had left this file to the original location, but it was empty. Why this erratic behavior?

  He was unable to finish when I clicked on Try Again, and I had to cancel out. However, he had removed all but one of the folders containing three files and it was not pasted into the new location. They were gone. I did a search on Win for some of the names of known files in this folder, and none appeared. Fortunately I had them on a second external drive. I plugged it to restore files, and of course that means more open task Mgr, ending explorer.exe and reopen in order to restore the files that explore had lost.

  After my results displayed above two rounds of by using a clean boot and selective startup, you can see that it is very difficult to actually diagnose the problem because it happens inconsistently. It is also very time consuming and very, very, very, very, very frustrating.

  I decided to try the method of disabling "just" thumb caching in the registry according to the advice of Robert P in the thread quotes.   Please test and see if you get the same error message when it is started in safe mode. After the test, if you do not receive the error message, you can run clean boot to test which causes this error.
