Polygon and lack of magnetic lasso tool?

OK, this is where's now? There has always been a popup under the tool with the polygon lasso and magnetic lasso. I use both a lot. They are gone, or I just have a glitch with this beautiful slice of $500 a creative cloud of the year?

Hi BeaconPromo,

It seems that your toolbar has been edited.

Select the toolbar change > right click or command click > it should contain polygon lasso and the magnetic lasso tool.

  • How can I stop and then resume when you use the magnetic Lasso tool?

CS4 on Mac. I have some fairly complicated selections to make and the magnetic lasso tool seems a good choice. However: How can I stop and then resume when in use? For example, I would like to zoom, start by dragging along the edge, then stop, move the image to a different area of it is in the middle of my screen, then pick up again where I left.

    Hi MarieMeyer,

You can press the SPACEBAR shortcut to activate the hand tool temporarily once you are finished with the selection on a part of the image.

Then, move the image with the key space key and let it continue with the selection by using the magnetic lasso tool.

You can use the SHIFT key to add to the selection by using the magnetic lasso tool.

    Kind regards

The magnetic lasso tool not stop once I've selected a topic with her.  Literally, he keeps moving and just goes on lines around the drawing page.  I don't know how to stop it once I have chosen something.   I used Photoshop Elements without any problem with the magnetic tool.  If anyone can help with how to keep it from running wild.

Did you follow the selection, either by clicking about to start or double-clicking since the last point?

How to solve the problem with the wacom tablet and the polygonal lasso tool. It does not work with a pen. I have install windows 10 and fresh, new drivers for wacom bamboo, could he makes problems or there is a problem of photoshop?

It should do.  You use one of the buttons of pen maybe?  Just touching wheels with the pen with no buttons or modifier keys.  Press ENTER to close the selection.

Personally I never use the lasso, Polygonal, but rather just the Lasso tool by using the ALT (Opt) to operate the Polygonal tool.  I also use the mouse instead of the Tablet for the selection of cutting edge.  It is a little too uncertain where the point will go when hovering the stylus above the image.

If this is not the case, check if you have the Touch preference in Adobe Acrobat active XI.  If you, then turn off.

    Hi Mikem,

I don't know what caused the corruption of your PS tools. However, there is a way to 'Reset' of all the tools to the factory presets that had been loaded when the program was installed.

    Try the following:

1 Select the magnetic lasso tool.

    2. If the tool options do not appear in the upper part of the screen, go to the window menu, click "Options".

    3. just to the right of the icon of the selected tool in the menu options, is a drop down. It will be just under the menu 'Edit' at the top left.

    Activate this sequence.

    4. when the drop down menu opens, there will be a ' > ' in the upper right corner.

    Click on the ' > ' button.

    5. in the menu that opens, select "Reset Tool". It will be at halfway in the list.

    Click on 'OK '.

Who should the tool to the factory presets when the program was installed.

  • Economy based on magnetic Lasso

I was just wondering, how do I save a picture after this crop with the magnetic lasso tool?  Whenever I save it, it saves the context as well.

The Lasso tool has nothing to do with culture or the removal of the background - it only makes a selection, and then to do something with this selection.

In your case, after making a selection with the Lasso tool, use Edit... Copy to copy the selected area in the Clipboard.  Then use a file... New... Image to the Clipboard to paste your selection into a new image.  Now you can save this new picture, but you must save it as a PNG file, or a TIF file or a PSD file to have a transparent background.

  • The polygonal Lasso tool is nuts now!

I have Photoshop CS6 Version 13.0 x 64.  Recently, I upgraded my system to the Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.  Since I have my Polygonal Lasso tool does not work.  I can't start in a specific place, the starting point does not appear.  Then I hold the Option key down, move the cursor to the next location, but the line moves rarely in that position.  And it continues all the way up until when I try to close the path, I have to hold down the command key to make it.

Also, if I'm doing a diagonal line and hold down the Option key, it's often a horizontal or vertical line instead.

None of that happened with my old system.  Any thoughts on why and, if necessary can be made?  My RAM is maxed out, so this isn't the problem.

  • The Polygonal Lasso tool will not systematically put points on a selection.

The Polygonal Lasso tool will not systematically put points on a selection. When I click on select and moving to another point at random don't graph a line from the last point to the new I want. I can go back and click again to the previous point and sometimes it will follow until the next point, but sometimes with simply close the selection prematurely.

I was finally able to contact the customer support of cat care and the agent, Arjun Hohli, was able to do repair. I tried to follow along what he was doing, but lost track. It seems to heal by resetting preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling CC files. It was a problem with PS CC 2015 and Windows 10. I suggest to anyone having a similar problem to jump the forums and go straight to the Contact Customer Service REPS the remote access feature works fine and save a ton of confusion. It allows to see the real problem rather than relying on the customer precisely describing the anomaly, the support staff.

  • The polygonal Lasso tool - no WARNING WARNING: no pixel is selected more than 50%. The edges of the selection will be not visible.

I tried for hours without success to snap a portion of a photo by using the tool "Polygonal Lasso" and I get the error "no WARNING WARNING: no pixels are selected to more than 50 percent." The edges of the selection will be not visible.  No matter where you are looking for a solution, it always seems to suggest that you change the "panache".  I did this.  Several times with zero success.  There must be another solution.  Can you help me please?  Thank you.

You set the pen in the toolbar options to 0 px (zero) before using the Polygonal Lasso tool?

  • Lasso tool polygon binding angles trying to add to the selection with the SHIFT key

Since upgrading (downgrading?) of Photoshop CS6 Extended Photoshop CC I have a problem with the lasso tool of polygon limited at certain angles when you try to add to a selection.

Here's the scenario, I select a color background with the magic wand tool, then I would like to add a few things to the selection, so I click on the polygon lasso tool and hold the SHIFT key to add to the playlist and then start to use the polygon lasso tool... often very randomly the polygon lasso tool will limit his movements to a 90 degree angle Sometimes something that seems like an angle of 30 degrees and sometimes he'll do any.

I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?

The SHIFT key has two functions in the creation of a selection.  The first is as you know to add to any selection using another selection tool.  The second is forced to angles in drawing and selection, but also rotation tools.  So for your example, you have to hold down the SHIFT key when you click on to add to your selection using the polygon lasso tool, but after making the first click with the tool, Photoshop knows that you want to add to the selection.  So do not hold the SHIFT key after the first click, otherwise Photoshop assumes that you also want to compel the angles drawing of your choice.  (Unless that's what you really want to)
